Chapter 2 of my reincarnation fic!
@rottmnt-background-screenshots
@daboyau
“Okay, this clearly is something beyond my scope.” Donnie comments as he watches the recording from last night.
This was after he saw the readings he got were nearly incomprehensible.
The recording showed them all having their markings glow throughout the night.
There was also the fact that each of them remembered the dream from their own perspective.
The exact same dream.
“Draxum could probably tell us what’s happening.” Mikey suggests.
“Normally I’d keep pushing for science, but I’m worried that this unregulated use of our mystic powers may cause damage like it did to our arms, so I’m in agreement for calling him.”
“Should we tell dad first? This might be some Hamato kind of thing.” Raph mentions.
“Could save us a call. Let’s go see if he’s awake.” Leo leads the way to the movie room.
They find him watching his usual commercials.
“Dad, we gotta talk.”
“What is it, Red? Did one of you boys break something again?”
“No, uh…..we shared a weird dream where we were all different people in a different place that looked pretty old.”
Splinter tenses and shuts off the projector, which immediately makes everyone realize how serious this could be.
“Tell me more about it.”
The turtles explain how the dream went from their different viewpoints.
Splinter frowns and rubs his beard.
“I do not believe this is anything dangerous, I think I know what’s going on.”
“So it’s a Hamato thing like Raph thought?”
“No, not exactly Orange. Maybe not entirely. Do you know what reincarnation is?”
“That’s what Tora was talking about, something about another life.” Raph answers.
“There’s one belief that when we die, we could come back as anything, even another person. These dreams might actually be memories.”
Mikey gasps loudly.
“We’ve been a family before!” He squeals and pulls Leo into a hug.
Leo dramatically moves him away.
“No way, apparently Donnie was your favorite! Go hug him!”
Mikey whimpers and gives him the biggest sad eyes he can muster.
“Kidding, kidding!” Leo quickly brings him back into the hug.
“I thought our ancestors all became ghosts after they died, so how did they become us instead?” Raph questions.
“It’s only a possibility they were Hamato. They could have been anyone. We should try to contact Karai, she would know more.” Splinter answers.
“I can’t wait to see gram gram again. It feels like it’s been forever since our last talk.”
“According to my records it’s been….2 weeks.” Donnie corrects.
“Still way too long! Let’s do it!” Leo encourages.
They all go to the area in the lair they set up specially for contacting their ancestors. It was usually just for talking to Karai since Splinter was still angry the rest of them for trying to make his sons martyrs, but his mom was also summoned for some nice chats from time to time.
They sit down on their color coded pillows that were put together close to each other in a circle. All at once, they activate their ninpo and focus on bringing Karai out. Her form slowly appears in the center.
“Hi Gram-Gram!” Mikey greets her with a smile.
“Hello boys. I’m glad to see you all again.”
“It’s good to see you too Gram-Gram, but we’ve got somethin kinda serious to ask about.” Raph comments.
“The dreams, they’re worrying you.”
“Yeah! How’d ya know?”
“When your ninpo activated, I was able to sense what was going on. Please fill me in on the rest.”
The turtles tell her what they told Splinter.
“Your father mentioned the mystic warriors that trapped the Krang, yes?“
They all nod.
“They were 500 years before my time, but it was strongly believed that they started the Foot Clan.”
“Hold on, pops said the Foot Clan worshipped the Krang! Why would they worship who they were tryna stop?”
“The Foot Clan only started worshiping the Krang after they gave the armor to my father.”
“Wait….I’m not good at math, but if the key was made 1,000 years ago and it trapped them, how were there Krang to give your dad armor?” Leo scrunches up his face.
“Some Krang managed to avoid being captured. Enough to cause centuries worth of damage….but not enough to get back the key.”
“There’s been Krang here this entire time….?”
“I don’t know what happened to them after I sealed my father away, so unfortunately I don’t have much information. What I do know is that the ancestors before we became the Hamato clan aren’t the same. Despite the mystic energy, it’s only once we separated from the Foot that we could cultivate the Ninpo. My father himself only appears because of the Ninpo used to free him.”
“Then what you’re saying is that getting our ninpo back could have helped uncover latent mystic energy from before it was actually ninpo. It shook free memories and our ninpo helps us see it all at once.” Donnie explains.
Karai nods.
“Raphael possibly experienced bits and beforehand because he was the first to dig deep. Now that you all have had major moments, Leonardo especially, they are flowing through. Because they’re not channeled, they are random and scattered still. Through meditation and shared ninpo, you could see them clearly and without having to sleep to do it. Some memories may only come through based on the person you’re sharing ninpo with.”
“Thanks for the advice Gram-Gram. We’ll start practicin.” Raph smiles at her.
“Stay safe and be careful.” She vanishes into green light.
“We should try it out now! I want to see more of what we were like!” Mikey shouts excitedly.
“I’m with Mikey, small Raph is hilarious.” Leo smirks.
“This may help be gather more data about this whole situation so I agree too.” Donnie states.
“Go on and try. I will stay with you in case something goes wrong.” Splinter adds.
“Let’s do it then!” Raph stands up and he helps his brothers bring their seats closer together.
Splinter sits outside the new circle and the turtles hold hands before closing their eyes. They each dig into their ninpo, causing their marks to light up like before. Thoughts of the lives they led before transform the dark in front of them into a bright and cloudless day. There’s a dirt road in front of them as well, one that’s moving. It seemed they were hitching a ride on a cart that was mostly occupied with hay.
Kosuke and Tora both kick their feet up and down as they sit together on the edge of the cart. Aoi yawns as leans against the hay and Tomo frowns while looking at the younger two of their group.
“You’re sure that you know how to earn money?”
“How do you think I’ve kept me and Tora fed? I told you not to worry. I’ve got everything under control. Now that I’m your big brother-“
“We’re the same age.”
“But I’m bigger, so I’m the biggest brother, and that means I take care of all of you.”
“They won’t take us to any orphanages?”
“I’ll be honest with you, the orphanage didn’t care that you left. They probably filled up the spaces there already. None of them want to take in any kids they don’t have to. We can stay together. That’s a sworn promise.”
“Don’t promise something you can’t keep.”
“That’s why I don’t! I can make sure no one gets taken away. Just like I can keep us fed. We’re already almost there.” He points towards a farm.
“A farm? What will we do there?”
“Anything they need us to. If they don’t need help then we go to their neighbors.”
“Ugh, physical labor….”
Aoi laughs.
“I’ll be doing most of the heavy lifting.”
“But I help too!” Tora interjects.
“That true, she is a force to be reckoned with. I saw her carry a hay bale twice her size.”
“Really!? No wonder we got that boulder down! You’re so strong!” Kosuke’s eyes light up.
Tora moves her sleeve up and proudly flexes her arm.
Kosuke pokes her arm in awe.
They eventually get off the cart before heading towards the house. Aoi introduces himself and everybody else then asks about any work they could help out with for money.
To Tomo’s surprise, the farmer eagerly accepts. Aoi is sent to take care of the farm animals while the rest of the three harvest fruit.
Tora pouts heavily as she picks pears off the tree and places them in a basket.
“No fair….they won’t let me help him because I’m a girl.”
“I’m surprised anyone had let you before.” Tomo comments.
“It’s because I was wearing a boy’s yukata. In my next life I want to be a big and strong boy like aniki.”
“You could grow bigger and stronger as a girl! So big and strong that you’re better than any boy.” Kosuke suggests.
Tora’s eyes sparkle like everything was just made clear.
“You’re a genius!”
Kosuke smiles widely.
They only stop working once the sun goes down. The three of them head to the house and see Aoi already there, talking to the farmer again. When he sees them, he ends the conversation and rushes over.
“Guys! He said we could sleep in the barn for tonight.”
“What? How’d you convince him of that?” Tomo questions.
“Aniki is the best at talking to people.” Tora says proudly.
“That’s not a real answer.”
“No worrying about how! Let’s just get to sleep.” Aoi walks past them and to the barn.
Tomo narrows his eyes as he watches him again and is the last to follow him. The farmer’s wife was nice enough to give them futons to sleep on before leaving them to rest.
Kosuke was snuggled into Tomo’s side despite the summer heat. Tora was already fast asleep, splayed out with her limbs on top of Aoi’s.
“How do you sleep like that?” Tomo doesn’t move his head, but he can see it clearly.
“You get used to it. It’s part of being a family. Goodnight!” Aoi closes his eyes.
Tomo sighs and does the same.
It’s difficult for him to actually fall asleep. He’s aware that everything is okay, that they’re safer than they had been for a while.
So why can’t he sleep?
After what could have been hours, he’s never sure when this happens, he finally opens his eyes and looks over back at Aoi.
All he sees is Tora hugging an empty futon.
Panic fills him as he sits straight up, still avoiding waking up. He notices that the barn door is closed. It only made everything seem weirder. He quickly leaves the barn and glances around outside to see if Aoi was nearby.
No luck.
He closes the barn door behind him and starts searching the whole farm. Once getting to the chicken coop, his seeking ends.
Aoi is in the middle of a yawn but jerks up in surprise.
“Tomo! Whaaat are you doing here?”
“That’s the question I have.”
“Just….getting some air. Couldn’t sleep.”
“Your words say one thing but your yawning says another.”
Aoi sighs.
“They only let us stay here because I agreed to guard their animals. Something has been spooking through chickens.”
“You worked harder than us today, why didn’t you ask for someone else to do it?”
“Because there’s no way I’m letting any of you get hurt if it’s a big animal! The rule is that it’s me before anyone else in this family.”
“I don’t recall agreeing to that.”
“Too bad, biggest brother makes the rules.”
“For the last time, you’re not-“ Tomo looks behind him and freezes.
Aoi turns around and sees glowing eyes in the darkness. His arm immediately shoots out and across Tomo’s chest.
“Get behind me!”
“I can’t just-!”
Whatever is in the darkness starts coming closer, fast, and Aoi throws himself over Tomo. His eyes shut right and he tenses as he curls protectively around him.
“…..Aoi. It’s okay. You can get up.”
He opens his eyes.
“Why?”
“It’s just a cat.”
Aoi quickly moves away from him and sees the cat casually stroll away.
“The gods are cruel.” He sighs heavily in relief.
“…..You really meant everything you said.”
“Of course I did. I really don’t know you or your brother, but when we became kenzoku, that wasn’t something to just say. We’re in this together now. Even if I wasn’t older than you, I’d still want to protect you. I’d want to help.” He smiles.
“I still feel like….the kind of person you are….the way you act, you don’t really exist. You can’t.”
“Then I guess I’ll just have to keep proving I do.”
Tomo smiles back softly.
“Now come on, you should get back to sleep.”
Aoi starts pulling him along.
“I don’t think so. Stay here.”
Tomo makes him let go and rushes off. Aoi stays where he’s standing, confused.
That is until Tomo brings their futons back with him and lays them on the ground.
“We’re sleeping in shifts.”
“But-“
“No buts. It’s the only way I’ll be able to get rest. You sleep first before anymore cats get here.”
Aoi chuckles.
“Okay, okay, deal.”
He lays down and Tomo sits upright on his.
“Goodnight, for real this time.” Aoi closes his eyes.
“Goodnight.” Tomo looks at him and watches him actually fall asleep.
He then looks back at the barn where everyone else is sleeping.
“And thank you.”
The turtles snap out of the memory and open their eyes.
“Ohmigosh, we were so cute!” Mikey squeals.
“That cat part was pretty funny, right Donnie?….Donnie…?” Leo’s eyes widen as he looks at him.
He’s crying.

While watching The Good Place clips on Youtube I feel like I gained some insight about Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Not necessarily new thoughts, but more... clarification of why we have those thoughts/feelings.
So, many people, more every day, are bored with New Horizons. Many got bored very fast. And outside of those who are just really into decorating, most people find themselves falling into unfulfilling routines that make their island feel more like a chore than a place to relax and have fun. And I think, in the case of New Horizons, this scene is insightful. (we are all Michael)
youtube
I think one of new Horizon’s fatal flaws, and this is going to sound a little weird... is that it prioritizes the player’s wants too much. Now I know, I know, “How is doing what the player wants a bad thing???” My thought process is as follows:
- We never have to experience the heartbreak of our best friend on the island moving away while not being able to do anything about it. They only go when you let them.
- We never have to experience the awkwardness or sorrow of accidentally upsetting a villager and having them not want to talk to us for a while. No one will ever get so upset that they turn you away, never being rejected.
- Everyone treats you like their best friend in the world from the moment you meet them. No one will ever be cold or distant or awkward toward you, they will always love you unconditionally.
- Money is ridiculously easy to make, whatever amount you need you can probably churn it out in a matter of days, tops, with a little effort. Or, you know, stonks.
-  Progression in general is very fast, even when you’re like me and deliberately play in a slow, easy-going manner, you can very quickly fill out collections and upgrade buildings in very little time.
- You control almost the entire layout of the island. No building (except resident resources), no object, will ever be where you don’t want it to be, even the path of the river is in your control.
And again, you might look at it and go “That all sounds great!” and maybe for some people it legitimately is. But I think for a lot of us, it makes everything... “flat”. A line with no variation of ups and downs is just flat. And that’s how New Horizons feels. Without the inevitable heartbreak of your favorite villager leaving of their own volition, you take their presence for granted. Without that awkward start of a new relationship you can’t really appreciate growing closer to someone. Without the occasional sour interaction you can’t really appreciate the good ones, cause again they’re taken for granted, guaranteed. If there’s very little struggle to progress, how can you appreciate it when you do? And when you control everything, you never get to appreciate the contributions of others.
Here are some of the memories from the old games that have stuck with me over the years that sort of inform this opinion of mine:
- When Chief, a cranky villager, first moved to my town we did not get along. He was a mean old cuss who wanted nothing to do with me, and I hated him. But over time doing errands for him (cause back then that was one of the main ways to get things especially early game) he warmed up to me, and I in turn warmed up to him. And I became very fond of him, he was my wise old man friend who offered me life advice.
- When Monique moved in to my town, despite being snooty I instantly liked her. Why? Because I got stung by bees that day, and as you might know, the villagers on the gamecube could be quite mean, Even the nicer ones were making fun of my face or else acting scared of it, and yes, that did hurt my young child feelings. But then I went to greet the new neighbor, Monique. And she didn’t say a goddamn word about my face, and was comparatively polite to me. I know now that this had to do with her first meeting interaction cancelling out the bee sting reaction. But in that moment I was just happy she didn’t make fun of me like everyone else had, so I quickly developed an emotional bond with her. On top of that, in her first errand she paid me by giving me her grape shirt, which at the time was a Gracie Grace item, something I had yet to ever obtain. So of course little me was proudly strutting around my town showing off my rare High Fashion item. I also got to delight in Gracie herself acknowledging my Fashion Sense the next time she was in town, compared to her usual insults.
- In my original Wild World town Chevre was my next door neighbor and best friend. And of course, she did eventually move away. And yes, it did hurt. Probably the one that hurt the most. But you know what? I think that’s why I remember her above the others. I couldn’t tell you who else I had in that old village, but I remember Chevre, and how much I loved her, and how it broke my heart when she left. I look back on that hurt fondly, because it reminds me how happy I was having her as a friend at a time when I didn’t have a lot of friends, or good things in general.
- My favorite festival in Wild World was the flower contest, where you got I think a week to decorate around your house with flowers. And everyone did it, and the whole town was filled with flowers, and villagers were creating their own hybrids, and I was stealing them to replant around my own house like the gremlin that I am. You’d never get that in New Horizons because that requires the villagers to contribute something to the island: Flowers. The best they can do now is water the flowers you grow, because god forbid the other residents of the island try to change any detail of your perfectly planned picturesque island, right?
If Chief had been super friendly right from the start I wouldn’t have gotten to appreciate that slow warm up to each other. If everyone had simply been kind and sympathetic toward my bee sting face I wouldn’t have appreciated Monique’s relative politeness (and may have even disliked her for being snooty). If it wasn’t so dang hard to get Gracie Grace items I wouldn’t have appreciated that grape shirt nearly as much. If I hadn’t experienced the heartbreak of Chevre moving away she probably would have faded into my memory like everyone else in that town, and I wouldn’t have such fond feelings toward her. The lows made the highs feel all that higher. And the flower festival was just fun seeing what flowers the villagers would plant and then stealing the best ones for my own garden =w=
Come to think of it, similar things have been said about The Sims 4 (on top of it also just being painfully broken). It’s super easy to make money, to progress, to keep your sims happy and healthy. People have to fall back on self-imposed challenges, mods, and making up their own drama in order to have any kind of challenge or depth to the game because it’s essentially a utopia simulator, and that doesn’t make for very interesting storytelling. Great game for builders though! Hm, I’m seeing a pattern...
So yeah, that’s my take on the matter. Most of us, whether we consciously realize it or not, crave those highs and lows. And without the lows, the highs feel flat. It’s sort of like that quote from Angel...
“The wheel keeps turning. You can’t stop it. Sometimes things get worse, sometimes they get better. It’s like a song. Now, I can hold a note for a long time... actually, I can hold a note forever... but eventually, that’s just noise. It’s the change we’re listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That’s what makes it music.”

Hello There Beautiful
Druig x (f)eternal reader
Summary: After a long time parted from the Eternals and your lover, Druig. Do they show up for a not so anticipated family reunion.
Warning: fluff, fighting, implied smut, friendly fire we got it all, oh more fluff (we rated S for spoilers)
Masterlist
Tumblr media
1348 A.D. - Outskirts of France
"I don't like this place." Mutters Druig as you crouch down to set a fire in the hearth of your small house in the rural hills of France, far away from people and the stench of death within the cities.
"You never like anywhere we go." You say over your shoulder as you snap your fingers over the  logs and dry straw to create a spark of lightening.
You can't see when Druig gives you a look, "I do. However not here."
"Is it because of the plague?" You muse as a flame catches to the dry straw.
"That and the people here. They're insufferable Y/N."
"I know they are." You tell him, standing now while making your way to stand in front of him, "But we cannot stop what they do no matter how much it kills us inside. So, would you do the honor of having a drink with me to forget all our troubles we cannot stop?"
He tilts his head at you like a curious wolf, "What's the occasion?"
"Tonight. It's just us."
"That's most nights." He teases.
"Yes. But specifically tonight I want to have a drink and well...see where that gets me." You gift him a wink before parting from his side to find where your hidden bottle of wine is stored.
Druig watches you go with growing anticipation for what the night may bring him. Just the two of you in this big house, no tired travelers, no other visiting eternals, no one else. Just you and him. His dearly beloved Y/N, favorite of them all, soulmate to the end of time and beyond. The only one he can tolerate, and more importantly the only one he likes to have around.
Just you.
Druig leans on the back of a lounge chair as you crouch down by an old wooden chest, "How do you know it's even good?" He asks.
"It's from Greece. Makkari got it for me last time she was here."
He hums in thought, "So it's good then?"
You hold up the bottle of wine, "It better be." You stand and snatch two glasses from the counter, "Cause if it's not I'm going to be both disappointed and drunk."
"Can't have that." He takes the bottle from you and pops it open, he holds the bottle up to his nose, "Smells good at least."
"But the real question. Does it taste good?"
Druig smirks, he fills your glass and then his. The two of you pick up your glasses of red wine, "Lets find out, shall we my dear?"
You clink your glasses together, "We shall."
And with that do you both take a sip, bringing the drinks from your lips do you smile and take another sip. Lasting a bit longer this time which causes Druig to laugh as you lick your lips. "Slow down Y/N we have all night." He chuckles.
"We have this whole giant bottle. I'll be fine, you'll be fine, I'm just trying to get lose you know? Forget the plague is happening right outside these doors."
"I know. But go slow I know how you get when you start drinking around me."
You raise a brow, "And how do I get hmm?"
He takes a sip, "Very touchy."
"I do not get very touchy."
"You do. Every time."
"When?"
He raises a brow this time, "Ikaris and Sersi's wedding. Let's just say they weren't the only ones having a fun filled evening."
"Oh."
"Yeah, oh." He teases as you nod and take another slow sip of wine.
He remembers that night all too well, and what an absolute incredibly pleasant memory it is. A day of laughter, entertainment, family, music, food, fun, festivities, and making love to you for the first time. In a quiet place far away from the guests and other eternals, a small tent by the water. What a time that was.
He sips his own wine as you do the same, when your eyes both lock onto one another do you smile, "Want to sit by the fire? I'll read a book."
"I'd love that."
—— Present Day - Whitehorse, Yukon - Canada
200 years is a long time. Centuries and decades coming to pass like water down a river on its destination to the far away ocean. An even farther away future, yet one that is inevitable, one that has come for you whether you're ready for it or not. You always assumed this forthcoming, as it's only natural to understand that things do not last forever. However, you do....and so do your sworn enemies. Deviants.
Although you don't know that....yet.
Slamming the door of your truck, you turn to the young man who just offered and delivered his aid to put groceries in your vehicle. You didn't need the help at all, but he's kind and likes you to no end. Too bad you're taken, too bad your thousands of centuries older then him. And he'll never even know.
He gifts you a little smile as your dog, Trout, barks in the passenger seat indicting it's most definitely time to go. You give the grocery boy a nod, "Thanks for the help, see you around." You tell him in your particular accent he can't quite place the origin of.
"Bye Y/N, see you." He waves as you awkwardly nod again before swiftly walking around your truck to open it up and climb inside the drivers seat. Shutting the door and starting her up, leaving the parking lot of the local minimart as lovestruck lover boy watches you go. Poor kid, you think.
Trout barks again, you ruffle up the big husky's furry head as he wags his curled fluffy tail. The drive home takes about half an hour as you have chosen to stay away from the town of Whitehorse and her people within. This way you have a space all to yourself, a nice little homestead in the wilderness. Perfect for someone like you, and your dog of course.
Setting the last of the groceries in their designated areas, you shut a cupboard and as if on cue does the power go out. Leaving the house in a dull gloomy blue from the setting sun, it'd be rather comforting if not for how cold it could soon get. Thankfully you're more then prepared for this.
The click clacking of Trout's claws against the wooden floor of the hallway can be heard as he hustles into the kitchen. You pet his fur and shake your head at the lack of electricity running through the veins of the houses electric system. "This damn place, huh? Come on let's fix this shit again." Trout follows your lead as you open up the back door and walk outside into the evening light.
The clouds are a mix of grey, white, and blue when your eyes look up to the sky. A few lone stars stick out like dim beacons of light. Soon a chilled breeze blows your hair and Trout's fur about as you start heading for the generator around the corner of the house. Your gaze glances over the yard and farther away line of forest filled with pines of all shapes and sizes. Nothing weird, good. Standing right in front of the metal box of dead energy, you purse your lips together in irritation before kicking it with the tip of your boot like an upset child. A weak hit that doesn't even create another dent to add to all the other ones you've given it already.
Trout sniffs the grass around it. Your furry sleuth.
With a great bout of lackluster energy do you kick the metal side again , "Take that you stupid piece of shit." The generator does not do a thing.
"Fuck. Fine. Gotta do everything myself." You look down at Trout, "Shut up, I know I asked for this, not my fault everyone else are idiots."
Trout barks at you.
You wave him off, "I know, I know...everyone but Druid whatever you know what I mean. Okay now come here, get back I'm going to turn this bitch on." You stand back a little bit from the generator and direct Trout to sit by your side. He does.
"Watch this." You throw your arm forward, pointing only your pointer and middle finger to the metal object as white hot jagged lines of lightening emit from your fingertips. They dance brightly across the ground and straight into the generator, conveniently drawing it back to life and with that your house's electric. Lights shine through the windows.
Trout wags his tail as you turn to him and take a bow. He jumps to his four paws and barks excitedly as you laugh and begin heading towards your house's back door. When you make it to the two stone steps leading to the entrance does Trout release a steady growl from deep within his throat. You freeze.
Taking a breath do you turn around and face the thick woods of pine trees and other leafy green shrubbery of the Yukon bush. The tree line stands a good half football field away yet you cannot see what lingers hidden within the branches of pine. Trout's fur stands up straight, he growls and does not break eye contact with one specific spot near the tallest pine tree.
You take a step forward and place a hand on his shoulder, "Easy boy." He bears his fangs to the tree. The green bristles sway unnaturally like something has accidentally brushed past it, you know otherwise. Suddenly Trout barks and as if on cue does a huge Deviant burst forth from the pines like a bat out of hell.
The open jaw of razor sharp teeth chomps as big claws slice against the earth while the huge blundering bastard rushes towards the two of you. A beast in likeness to that of a fucked up wolf, except this one is way uglier and bigger, not to mention has spikes coming out of its spine. And two very unnerving looking eyes.
It jumps, claws ready like ten daggers when you open your palm to the sky and instantly does a force field of golden light surround yourself and Trout. The Deviant slams into the golden protection and falls to the ground hard, dazed and clearly not anticipating that at all. You step out from the force field and immediately electrocute the wolffish Deviant that convulses and cries out from the intensive pain.
Then just like does it go still as a statue. Trout runs out from the golden half sphere to sniff at the beast. Your force field dissipates as you grab your dogs collar, "No stupid, what are you doing? That thing will kill you!" You urge as Trout barks at the dead Deviant when without warning does it twitch, sending a spike for your dog.
You instantly step in front of him and are shanked in the side by a spike from the half alive Deviant. Trout yips and books it towards the house as you yelp in pain before thrusting a chain of lightening right into its body. The Deviant flies backwards across the grass leaving a trail of blood from the heart you just exploded from within its now visibly open chest.
You suck in a deep breath and hold your bleeding side, "Fuck!" You shout angrily before looking down at the damage. Your shirt has a bloody stain of deep red coming forth from the jagged hole in your flesh. More blood seeps out from the injury. "Oh for the love of...are you seeing this Trout? Look at what that bastard did to me, here goes another scar for the canvas. Fucking hell, I thought we killed them all."
Trout barks as you apply pressure to the area.
You purse your lips together and point two fingers at the bloody wound, "Be tough, be tough, be tough." You tell yourself before cauterizing the flesh with one touch, letting out a pained scream afterwards that no doubt has some ravens flying for the hills.
Your loyal husky races to your side in deeply confused worry, kneeling down do you pet his head, "It's okay boy, I'm okay. Just a little hurt nothing too bad, I've had it worse before trust me." He licks your hand. "I know, come on let's get inside and some dinner yeah? I think that one was it."
You stand and glance warily around, "I hope that's it."
The next morning do you dress and change the gauze over your wound that still bleeds just a little bit. Bruised and tender it remains, can't change that unfortunately. You have some tea and give Trout his bowl of morning dog food, and a little piece of your apple since he loves apples for some odd reason.
You set your tea in your lap and sit at the giant window where there is space for a cushion and some pillows. You love to watch the birds and deer wander by from this spot while peacefully drinking your tea as you forget about the problems of the world. Forget about everything and everyone. Just you and the forest.
Trout suddenly rises from his doggy bed and freezes like he's trying to listen really hard for something. You tense up at his reaction, really not keen on facing off with another goddamn Deviant of all creatures. Especially now.
Your big husky sniffs the air before barking loudly and racing down the hallway for the front door. You sigh and jump up, setting your tea on a table top before swiftly putting your boots on before quietly walking down the hallway towards your barking dog. Trout jumps and paws at the door, wanting to go outside more then ever before. Your brows furrow at this, you can't see whatever lingers outside as this door has one window and that's covered by a curtain.
However if this was a Deviant you're sure it would have crashed violently into the house by now. This is different. You reach your hand out to turn the knob but pause with your hand on the cool metal. You take a breath before turning it and opening the wooden door to a sight you never had anticipated. Nor are you excited for.
Trout on the other hand races forward towards Sersi who smiles and kneels down to pet the excited husky like they're a pair of old friends. You hold your tongue for the moment and walk out onto your porch before slowly walking across the wooden planks to the two steps leading into the grass.
Ikaris smiles a friendly grin as he gives a wave, you take a couple more steps then stop and open your palm to the seven of them as a small spark dances across your fingers, they all halt in their tracks. "Stay right the fuck there." No one moves as you whistle for Trout to return, he does. You set your hands on your hips, looking rather unenthusiastic, "Well someone better be dead or the worlds about to end for you all to just show up like this."
Ikaris purses his lips together and shares a glance with Sersi before his eyes are on you again, "That's why we're here actually."
"For which one?"
Seri steps forward, a sympathetic look on her face, "It's Ajak....she's..." Sersi looks deeply troubled, you know exactly what's coming next, "....she's dead, Y/N." You pray the other missing Eternals are not sharing a similar fate.
"Where's Gilgamesh? Makkari?"
"Makkari is fine." Says Ikaris as Thena looks rather dismal.
"Gilgamesh died protecting us." Adds Sersi with another solemn look.
You frown, eyes turning towards the ground in sorrow before they find Sersi's again, "Well that's some real shit news. Can't you come with something better then that?"
Sprite shrugs, "We brought your grumpy boyfriend." Druig.
"You did?" Your eyes immediately shift between the clumped seven of them until he steps from out of the group to gift you with a handsome grin. "Oh, you did. Well that was probably smart because I really don't want to talk to any of you and now I'm sad. Just uh, just make yourself at home I'll be inside in a minute."
"Cool." Says Sprite as she casually walks past you, "Can I pet your dog?"
"Sure."
"Nice."
She leaves to go inside as Ikaris and Sersi look like they're about to speak with you before Phastus pulls them away. A smart decision. You then nod at Thena and Kingo who nod respectfully back as you stand your ground alone while they make for your front door. And then goes some short Indian man with a camera who trails after them.
Your heart picks up at the sight of Druig before you, still standing a short distance away from where you remain in the grass. He smirks with a tilt of his head before walking in your direction as you do the same, a growing joy upon your own face that you had otherwise not even noticed before. He's still so handsome, face just as you'd remembered 200 years ago and a smile to light up the sun.
Druig bites his lower lip, "Hello there beautiful. Miss me Y/N?" He teases as you shake your head, wrapping him in your arms as he does the same. Holding your body against him so tightly he would undoubtedly choose never to let you go if fate would allow him. You don't even notice the irritation in your side.
After a long embrace do the two of you finally pull away to see each other fully now. You touch his cheek softly before pressing your lips to his for a short moment. You part from his lips to look at him, "I got a dog."
Druig laughs sweetly, "I saw. God you're still so adorable." He squeezes your sides, "I missed you so much." You can't help but make a muffled gasp of discomfort by the touch to your hidden wound when he puts just a bit too much pressure. Druig's face shifts to deep concern, "What is it?"
You pat his chest and shrug, "Oh uh, just an injury to my side, nothing too wild."
"Y/N!" Shouts Sprite from the porch, "What's with the dead Deviant in the back?"
Druig gives you a look, you turn around to see her, "You know I was having a nice moment! And I told you all I'd be inside in a minute! Can I not get a second of peace here?"
"Apparently you've been having a couple moments! That thing is huge!"
"I know, it fucking stabbed me in the side!"
Her brows raise as Druig touches your shoulder, "It stabbed you? When? Are you okay Y/N, are you actually okay and not just telling me your fine when you're not?"
You shoo him off, "Yes I'm fine, just, oh come on I'm assuming you all want to know what happened." He's at a loss for words when you take his hand and lead him to your house where the others are waiting inside.
Once through the door does he stop and take a second to look around at your decently vacant homestead. Your brows furrow, "What?" You ask a bit self conscious he doesn't like the place.
He squeezes your hand, "I like it."
"You do?"
"Yeah, too cold up here for me but this place is nice. Although," He says sweetly in your ear, "I bet we could find a way to keep warm when the sun goes down." Lips just barely brushing past your skin. A shiver goes down your spine.
You take his jaw before kissing him, "Like our days in Tibet?"
"Exactly."
"Y/N!" Shouts Sprite from down the hallway as your head falls into Druig's chest. He laughs as you release a dramatic sigh of annoyance against his shirt.
You mumble through his jacket a grouchy, "What?"
She pops her head out from around the hallway corner, "Sersi wants to ask you some things but no one wants to tell you that so they made me do it."
Your head draws back from Druig's chest, "Tell them I'm coming, but it won't be in peace if they don't stop pestering me."
"Got it." And she's gone again.
Druig gently bumps his body into yours, "You're probably not going to want to hear what they have to say."
"I know. I already don't like what they told me."
"I didn't like it either."
"Well you don't happen to like much of what the others do or say to begin with."
"That is...yeah okay that's a fair point."
"I know it is, I know you." You give him a wink before leading him further down the hallway and into the kitchen where everyone is gathered about in their own particular spots. Trout sitting on the floor as Sprite pets him while she sits cross legged on a chair.
They all look up at you. Your jaw tightens. Kingo, who sits next to Sprite and his camera guy, raises his hand, "So when did this happen? Did I miss something?" He asks while pointing between you and Druig.
Your face shifts to a puzzled expression at this, "It's always been a thing you've just spent too much time looking in a mirror to notice anything else."
Kingo rests a hand on his heart, "Ouch, Y/N's already cracking us and I haven't seen any lightening yet."
Sprite snorts, "It's always been a thing."
"Since when?"
She gives him a deadpanned stare, "Since before we visited Rome."
Kingo's brows raise in surprise, "That was like thousands of years ago. What the hell," He looks over at you two, "why didn't you ever get married then? I love weddings."
"Clearly they don't always work out." Retorts Sprite as you let out a humored breath through your nostrils. A solid jab at Ikaris and Sersi, everyone in the room immediately feels the tension shift to a half serious half playful one. Oh this is going rather well already.
"Okay, okay." You say while releasing Druig's hand to fold yours to your chest before leaning against a counter, "What do you actually want from me?"
"Well for starters, when did you slay that Deviant?" Asks Sersi like a concerned mother.
"Last night." You raise a brow at her, "And by the looks of it you've all seen them recently too."
"We did. They killed Ajak and Gilgamesh." So that's what happened to them.
"As I expected. Fucker almost got me too, gave me a nice scar on my side. Still feels sore."
"It's not just that. The worlds going to end soon.."
"The what?" You question, "When I asked if someone was dead or the world better be ending I didn't think you'd literally give me both in one sitting. I've dealt with enough crazy shit for the past week thank you so much."
"This is important Y/N." Urges Sersi, "I have to tell you what happened." ——
Sitting on the deck of your porch, feet on the steps leading to the grass do you stare off into the tree line. It's been twenty minutes since Sersi told you everything about your true origins and why you're even here in the first place on earth. A destroyer of worlds for some space god, and you thought after all this time that your purpose was to be a protector.
How wild that was to hear from her. All of it. So many lies you've been told, how could Ajak do that to you?
You know soon you'll be leaving this place for who knows how long, maybe even forever. But right now they've given you some time to process and have a moment alone with your thoughts. You sigh and listen to the sounds of muffled laughter from inside as you hear Trout excitedly bark. Then a door opens from behind you, closing softly right after as a pair of footsteps walk across the wooden porch.
Druig sits by your side, shoulders touching together as he lays his opened palm on his knee for you to take. You silently do. He smiles to himself as you frown at the earth, head racing with a million thoughts all at once.
"What's your dogs name?" He asks after a long time held with a comfortable silence.
You look at him, "Do you want to know, or do they want to know and are too scared to ask me?"
Druig snorts, "I want to know."
"Trout."
"Trout? Really?" He asks like a surprised child.
"Yes really. You can laugh if you want I like the name okay." You say half defensively.
"I never said it was a silly name, Y/N. I think it's cute." Admits Druig.
"Oh." You face the trees again, "Well you're going to laugh when I tell you why I picked the name."
He leans into your side, "Try me." What a flirt.
"I think the fish are very beautiful creatures, they're colorful and strong swimmers so long story short, the name came to me when I saw him for the first time at the animal shelter. Those big eyes and I knew we'd be friends."
Druig releases your hand to wrap his arm around your shoulders, pulling you into his side, "I love you, so much." He says, emphasizing 'so much' that causes you to chuckle.
Shaking your head you turn away to hide the smile pulling at your lips. When he leans his face close to yours do you push his cheek away from you, "No you think it's funny."
He gently touches your chin, you let him turn your face to meet his, "I love it...and I love you." His lips press to yours so gently you almost can't even feel him until his thumb is rubbing your cheek and you know he's there. Truly here, right by your side. Not some dream, not some illusion, right here in the flesh.
You grasp onto his forearm as he holds your face in his hand, his other slithers it's way through your opened flannel to delicately squeeze your breast. You let out a breathy moan against his lips when he does this sneaky move out in the open like this. But you'd be a lying fool to say you're not enjoying it.
You then take both his cheeks in your hands and kiss him even harder before pulling away to a big dazed lovestruck grin. You smile brightly at him, "I don't think I'm ever planning on living far away from you ever again. I like my solitude but two hundred years is enough."
"I like that plan." He kisses you again.
"Oh god, yuck. Sprite look away this isn't PG."
You part from Druig to turn and look at Kingo, his cameraman, and Sprite. You send him a glare, "Yes?"
Kingo shrugs, "Oh nothing, just wanted to see my two friends."
"Are you ready to leave yet?" Deadpans Sprite, "We got a long road ahead."
You huff in annoyance, "Yeah but I'm taking Trout with me."
"Who's Trout?"
"My dog."
Kingo blinks back bewilderment, "Ohhh that's his name I was just calling him Balto this whole time." The three of you give him odd looks until he shrugs, "Because you know, the husky from the movie? He pulls a sled and goes through a blizzard to bring back medicine for some sick little boy who... and you know...oh nevermine, none of you know what I'm even talking about."
"Not really." Says Druig as he stands, pulling you up with him.
"Don't any of you ever watch a movie every now and again?"
"Not recently." Says Sprite who then points to you and Druig, "You really think these two secluded heathens would ever actually sit down to watch a film?"
"No." Speaks Phastos, "Definitely not."
You roll your eyes as Ikaris, Thena, and Sersi walk outside, "Oh whatever man," You add, taking a step into the grass as you look back at him, "..and what is the great Phastos doing these days besides making fun toys for humans to kill each other with?"
Kingo points to you, "See, lightening. Cracking us without remorse."
Phastos shakes his head at you, "Are you going to be like this the whole time?"
"Yes."
He steps past Kingo as Druig intentionally walks between you two, "Okay, okay. Well spoken Y/N. I see you're still angry. But I will tell you this besides the fact that I have changed over the last few centuries since we last met, I have a son now.."
"Oh really, you birth him yourself? Didn't know that was one of your powers."
He ignores this remark, "I'm married too."
"There's someone for everyone. Good for him."
"Alright, are you going to be like this the whole time?" He finally snaps, you stop and turn to face him.
"I will not apologize for my frustration with how you have affected humanity." They all stop and watch this heated interaction, "I'm glad you've chosen to not cause harm anymore but I will still remember everything."
Phastos takes a heavy breath, "We wanna do this right now?"
"Well no but I haven't seen you in a long time and I wanted to tell you how I feel while you're here." You reply before running a hand through your hair and looking at him more calmer now, "Congratulations on your kid."
"Thanks. He's ten now."
You nod, "He's got a good dad. Probably."
Phastos nods back, "You're probably right."
The two of you smile before continuing on your walk to the van they drove here. To say the relationships between the ten of you throughout the thousands of years on earth are complicated would be a massive understatement. Clearly. Yet you can't all ever truly stay mad at one another no matter how much history has happened.
However you do feel better letting that out after almost 300 years. Brief, straight to the point, and over and done with. ——
Leaning into the back of your seat on Kingo's private jet, you close your eyes and attempt to zone out into the world of sleep. Druig sits on your left by the window as Sprite sits in front of you. Facing yourself as she fiddles with a rubix cube to combat her boredom.
"This here is one of the most deadly women in the whole entire world. A force to be reckoned with, killer of men and beasts, the stormbringer, the goddess of uh...something amazing. Our one and only, Y/N." Says the whispered voice of Kingo as you keep your eyes closed.
"She killed five Deviants at once one time when Sersi turned mud to water underneath them. And Y/N here, electrocuted the water...it was badass." You hear a camera zoom, "See the light scar on her cheek, you can barely see it now, that's from a Deviant. Oh, and you see the.."
"Way I could make Kingo scream and not in the way he likes it." You retort.
"Hey!" He says before whispering, "Delete that part."
You open your eyes to glare at the two men sitting to your right, "Can you not bother someone else?"
"You're one of the last people I have to film."
"The fuck are you talking about?"
Druig nudges your shoulder. "It's for his documentary."
You give Kingo a puzzled look, "What ever happened to laying low? We're not the Avengers."
"That's what we've been trying to tell him." Mutters an unenthusiastic Sprite.
Kingo points a finger, "Shush, this is all going to be golden. You guys just can't see the big picture."
You roll your eyes before a thought pops into your head, "So, how's your acting career?" You ask. Druig's brows furrow at you as Kingo's face lights up.
"Oh it's going just swimmingly, my latest movie is coming up real soon..we're actually still in production at the moment but things are going well so far.."
"Wow." You nod with a tone of obvious fake enthusiasm as you point to Sprite still seated across from you, "Sprite wants to know about your movie from 1987 and your thoughts on the film." Sprite gives you a dirty look as Kingo begins to talk about his movie from that time period. Just to her of course.
You snicker as Druig looks at you before whispering, "Thanks Y/N."
"Yeah, thanks." Seethes Sprite.
You give her a wink, "You're very welcome." Eyes on Druig in a second, "And you're even more welcome." He almost blushes through that half grin of his you love so much.
-
I hope you all enjoyed! If anyone has any Druig requests or inspiration for a fic let me know I’d love to hear them and write something for it :)

✨Pairing✨: mechanic!Ari Levinsonxblack!Reader
Summary🪄: Ari’s girls treating him for Father’s Day brings along some good (and emotional) memories
⚠️: pretty much all fluff, teensy bit of angst, language (one bad word)
🎙: V late Father’s Day story/Drabble idea I thought of, featuring the Operation: Rekindle crew, that I hope you guys like✨
The light clinks and whispers coming up the stairs is the most adorable interruption to his sleep he could ask for. Turning so he would be facing the door he quietly laughs to himself now able to hear them a bit clearer.
“Slow down B, you’re moving too fast.”
“Which is exactly why I was just gonna carry the tray and you could’ve held the bowl,” Brynn counters.
“Like you could’ve carried this up the stairs. Dad would’ve been eating off the floor.”
“Shh! You’re being too loud.”
“Nuh uh, you,” Aliana retorts. By the time they’re opening the door to Ari’s bedroom, he’s sitting against the headboard in his solid grey tee shirt. Muscular arms crossed in front of him and hand covering his mouth to try and hide his chuckles.
“Just so you know, you girls would make terrible cat burglars.”
“…Why would we be stealing cats?,” Brynn asks. Both her and her sister completely missing their father’s jab as they stood looking at each other confused. This only makes Ari lean his head back laughing harder before motioning his loves over with a, “Come here you two.”
They carefully step in sync finally reaching the king sized bed to place the heavy tray over his lap. Ari’s blue eyes brighten and heart warms at the options in front of him: a bowl of Cheerios (his favorite since he was a child himself), three waffles drizzled in syrup with a square piece of butter in the center, and a small plastic cup of orange juice waiting in the corner.
“Oh!,” they both say in unison before, respectively, pulling an apple and small container of a few strawberries from the pocket of their robe and hoodie. “Happy Father’s Day!”
Also presenting him with his card, he can’t help the wide smile across his lips at the similarities of this present moment and his first Father’s Day with you in that old apartment. Before life decided to take a different route and get even more complicated.
-
“Happy Father’s Day,” you whisper with a careful peck to the corner of his mouth while placing the plate of golden pancakes topped with berries resting next to an omelette filled with peppers and cheese—just the way he liked—on the open textbook in front of him. He’d spent the majority of last night running into this morning studying for his upcoming exam, and no amount of your coaxing seemed to persuade him to take a break.
That is until the sizzling pan and diffusing smell of your creations awoke his stomach with a gurgle.
“Thank you honey, but I’m not a dad yet. Well technically…right?,” he asks setting you on his lap.
“According to the two people inside me causing my uncontrollable heartburn and swollen ankles you are,” you giggle resting your arm around the top of the chair. “So, gifts now or later?”
“Hmm, that depends…what gifts?” His mouth immediately finding the sweet spot at the base of your neck makes you squeal, playfully trying to push him away with hands planted on his broad chest.
“Actual gifts silly.” Leaning forward, you retrieve the dark blue gift bag from beside the desk sitting it on his unoccupied thigh. “Open.”
He starts with the card, tearing the flap of the envelope open and removing the orange card covered in small cartoon fans. “Happy Father’s Day,” he reads before moving to the inside and softly chuckling to himself catching onto the joke. “From your biggest fans. Love Y/N, baby A, and baby B.”
“It’s probably corny, but I thought it was cute.”
“It was very cute,” he smiles moving the silver tissue paper to the side to reveal a black baseball cap with “#1 Dad” on it along with a matching mug. The final present, a small leather box that held a silver watch shining with every tilt as he admired the beautiful timepiece. Turning it around he finally notices the inscription of “always” on the metal plate making his vision a bit cloudy.
“Sweetheart you didn’t have to.”
“I know, but I saw how you were looking at it in the window that day. Plus you don’t have a watch so, voilà.”
“Well thank you,” he smiles sliding you closer on his thigh to meet your full lips. His other hand spans across your growing belly rubbing in a circular motion and causing your little ones to stir as it always did. “And thank you babies. Clearly you get your amazing taste from mama.”
-
Side by side, the three sat in bed watching some cartoon while sharing strawberries. Both girls leaning their head on each shoulder while his arms held them close to his sides occasionally kissing the tops of their curly heads as he enjoyed their morning in.
“Dad?”
“What’s up Ali?”
“Do you have a favorite Father’s Day so far?,” she asks. Deep brown eyes and long lashes looking up towards him, just like her sister, while they patiently waited for his answer.
“Let’s see,” he ponders aloud, “honestly, the fact that I get to celebrate the day at all with you guys makes them all my favorite. But there’ve definitely been memorable ones.”
-
“Ari I thought you were watching her!” Bouncing a wailing Brynn in your arms, you try to console the fussy one year old while also cleaning the blood from her forehead that didn’t seem to want to stop.
“I was! But then I had to change Ali’s pull-up and-Ali no!”
Now both girls were crying. Brynn from her head injury, and now Aliana from stepping on a hidden piece of broken glass from the lamp in her attempt to be next to Ari.
And by the time the four of you made it to the hospital, you felt like crying.
“Alright so good news! Baby Brynn doesn’t seem to be experiencing any cognitive changes or symptoms that would make us suspect a concussion. We’re still gonna keep her for a bit longer just to make sure though,” the older doctor explains. Looking at her now you wouldn’t think anything happened how she giggled and babbled with her sister.
You wouldn’t think that with either of them really. The only evidence of something wrong being the butterfly bandaids covering their respective boo-boo’s.
“You guys have any questions for us or need anything?”
“No, uh we’re good for now. Thank you though,” Ari softly smiles with a gentle nod of his head.
“You’re welcome, and Happy Father’s Day. I know this isn’t exactly the ideal place to be,” he shrugs with a small chuckle.
“Thanks doc. Hope you have a happy Father’s Day too.” Once he’s left the room, you both release the breath you’ve been holding since the doctor mentioned her head needing to be scanned. Ari’s large hand soothingly running up and down your back as you lean into him.
“You realize this is just the first heart attack of many for us right?,” you state still gazing at your daughters now poking at each other as they lie side by side.
“Yep. Might as well reserve our own beds now,” he adds making you chuckle.
“I’m sorry we didn’t get to any of the plans today.”
“S’alright. As long as you and the girls are good and we’re together, I’m happy.” His lips meeting your temple make you melt even more into his side, sighing contently.
“We did get to one very fun plan this morning though,” he smirks against your skin as you lightly smack his chest.
-
“So that’s how I got this mark on my forehead.”
“And my foot,” Aliana adds.
“Mhm, and the exact day I got my first gray hair,” Ari chuckles. “So, you’ve fed me this wonderful breakfast, what’s next for today?”
“What do you wanna do?,” Brynn asks.
“Well,” he stretches with a yawn, “how about we go visit grandma and grandpa to wish him a happy Father’s Day too?”
“Okay! And milkshakes after?”
“That’s a must, no questions,” Ali pointedly states with a mouth full of fruit.
“Um obviously,” he replies making both girls giggle from his impression of a teenage girl. “Last one dressed pays!”
Watching them hop out of bed to nearly knock each other over trying to get out the door has him laughing with the shake of his head at his girls not so little anymore.
Sometimes he wondered how long this would last. Them being excited to spend the day with their old man and keep up their little tradition. Admittedly, it made him a bit sad thinking they might one day grow bored with it, and how that day might come soon with their approaching teenager years.
His vibrating phone interrupts his thoughts before he can sulk any further, flashing your name along with a text.
Hey, Happy Father’s Day! The girls did remember to give you their card right? (sent 10:23 am)
Hey and thanks😊. Yes they remembered lol, made me breakfast too (sent 10:24 am)
Oh woww..cereal or waffles? (sent 10:25 am)
Both😉 (sent 10:26 am)
🤯…guess we know who’s the clear favorite lol (sent 10:27 am) You guys have anything else planned for the day? Well besides milkshakes? (sent 10:27 am)
Gonna go see my folks for a while. Probably eat with them or get something while we’re out (sent 10:28 am) Why? Were you coming over? (sent 10:28 am)
-
Fingers drumming against your mug, you debate amongst yourself whether it’s a good idea to go or not. Of course you wanted to see him and your girls, but the fact that you’d eventually have to leave still sent a pang through your heart.
Just like that first Father’s Day during your separation.
-
“We brought you some food,” you softly smile removing the containers from the plastic bag. Not having all of his furniture yet, you were stuck eating on a blanket on the floor as if it was an indoor picnic. “Girls, get down and come eat.”
Having not seen him in a couple weeks, Aliana and Brynn were immediately glued to their father with their tiny arms currently around his neck. Giggling as they dangled and he tickled their sides and kissed their chubby cheeks.
“We’ll play later okay, cmon let’s eat. You hungry?”
At the sight of French toast sticks, they eagerly sit down next to him saying, “Food dada.” Each taking one of the torn halves from his hand before loudly smacking as children tend to do.
“It’s only been a few days and they look bigger,” he softly grins trying his best at making small talk. Things had been expectantly awkward between you two with his decision to move forward with getting his own place.
That was always the plan though when you first agreed on your arrangement. But with the couple years leading up to this moment, you wouldn’t have thought it was on the table anymore.
And a small part of you hoped it wasn’t.
“Yea, it’s like they’re growing overnight.” Your small smile as you cleaned Ali’s face makes Ari’s fall. The obvious elephant in the room not doing anything to try to relieve the tension and only making him feel more guilty than he already was.
“So,” he clears his throat, “Bill’s letting me start in two weeks, so until then I was thinking maybe I could start watching the girls again? I-I know it’s a bit empty in here right now, but it takes a bit off your mom-,”
“Was I the only one that felt it?”
“What?”
“Us. L-Like we were actually getting back to how things used to be..at least, how they were supposed to.”
Of course he felt it, and any other time hearing you say that would’ve put a smile on his face so bright, the sun would tap out. That time being back in the apartment, sleeping next to you, and waking up to see his girls with hair in a frenzied mess, it felt right. Like you were the family you were always meant to be and nothing made him happier.
But for yours and the girls sake, he couldn’t tell you that.
“It was fun, but bottom line is I was just trying to help out with Ali and B like I’ll always do. As for us…we..we were two adults needing to scratch an itch,” he sighs rubbing the back of his neck. “I mean..that’s what you called it right?”
Watching whatever hope you had drain from your cocoa eyes and be replaced with a sheen of tears ready to fall is the worst heartbreak he’s ever experienced. It was as if he’d just told an innocent child that Santa didn’t exist; nor did the tooth fairy or Easter bunny. If only he could tell you the truth.
Your gaze falls to your legs just in time for your finger to quickly wipe away a tear just as it breaks through its barrier. Definitely not wanting the girls to see you upset, you manage to gracefully collect yourself able to meet Ari’s ocean like eyes again as if you weren’t crumbling inside.
You were too late. It was over, and you couldn’t help but feel it was all your fault.
“Yea um, y-you’re right. We agreed and now it’s done.” Albeit a stupid agreement really that both of you knew wouldn’t go as planned.
Standing to your feet, you begin collecting your things ignoring Ari’s regretful “wait” as you put on your jacket. “I um just remembered I told my dad we’d stop by so we uh..we should go. Ali, Brynn time to go babies.”
“Noo,” they both whine only holding onto their father tighter as they try to hide behind his broad back.
“Girls please don’t start, we gotta visit grandpa cmon.” They’re stubborn though. Insistent on staying with their dad as their own stream of waterworks starts to flow.
“Dada here! You go mama!,” Aliana shouts with the stomp of her foot.
“Shh shh, hey,” he softly coos bringing both around to hug in each arm. “What do I always say huh?” All is quiet besides their sniffling as they each look down gently tugging on his navy blue college tee shirt.
“Dunno..”
“Yes you do,” he smiles tilting their chins up to look at him. “I say be…?”
“B-Be good,” Brynn mumbles around her thumb in her mouth.
“Right, so you both gotta be good for mama and go with her, okay? I’ll come get you guys on Friday and guess what?”
“Wha?”
“We can get shakies and go to the park.” Both seem to perk up at that making their father lightly chuckle. “So that’s three days away. Show me three.”
They do as they’re told, each holding up three fingers alongside Ari’s much larger hand. “Very good! You’re so smart,” he grins blowing raspberries on their necks and causing their wild giggles to return before looking upwards at you, “just like mama.”
“You’re always so good with them,” you softly smile watching him expertly stand while holding your four-year-olds.
“No better than you.” Leaning forward, his soft lips fall onto your forehead reminiscent of a kiss goodbye, and you can’t help but to lean into his chest leaving a kiss of your own just under the Star of David hanging from his chain.
Right now you shouldn’t want anything to do with him.
Heaven knows you wish you could feel that way, but you knew it’d never happen. Ari would always be a part of you and you silently hoped that part never broke away.
-
Um…no I think I’ll stay in today. You guys have fun though! Tell papa Levs I said hi and Happy Father’s Day (sent 10:38 am) Tell your mom I said hi too (sent 10:38 am)
Will do, you sure though? We could always meet somewhere (sent 10:41 am)
Yea, you three go ahead. Don’t have too much fun😉lol (sent 10:43 am)
Damn…so much for Vegas then😜 (sent 10:44 am) And we could never without you there😘 (sent 10:45 am)
You were sure it didn’t mean anything and was just Ari being his charming self, but reading his message did have your heart and stomach fluttering like a recently freed butterfly.
Mhm sure🙄😆 (sent 10:46 am)
Speaking of, thing 1 and 2 say hello and that they love you, but are trying to drag me out the bed to hurry up and get dressed (sent 10:48 am)
Lmao, I know they’re serious about their milkshakes so tell them I said hi and I love them back. I’ll talk to you guys later (sent 10:50 am)
Alright, talk to you later sweetheart❤️ (sent 10:51 am)
Staring down at your respective screens, you each so badly wanted to type “Love you,” with your thumbs hovering over the keyboard and ready to hit send. Instead though, you both slide your phones away with a sigh hopeful that one day you would feel bold enough to finally share those two words again.

The sound of the door slamming alerted Pete that his girlfriend was finally arriving home. She had texted him a few hours earlier to say she was being kept late on set, but neither one of them thought that she meant she’d be this late.
Pete craned his neck to peak around the doorway of the living room as he watched (Y/N) stomp up the stairs towards their shared room. He cringed as he heard that door slam shut as well. He knew this meant that (Y/N) wanted to be left alone, but he hated to leave her alone while she was so angry. So, he paused his show and got up to make his way to their room.
Instead of barging in, Pete stood outside their shared bedroom door and knocked. When there was no answer, he tried again.
“Fuck off,” came a groan.
“Hard day baby?” Pete asked her.
“Fuck off for a bit, Pete. I don’t wanna snap at you.”
Pete sighed and decided to leave her be. He knew it was best to let her blow off steam however she felt she had to, but it was hard when all he wanted was to take her in his arms and hold her until the bad went away.
An idea popped into his head. He moved from their bedroom to the bathroom down the hall. He began to run the bath and put some of (Y/N)’s favorite bubble bath in. He watched as the bubble rose so high that she would definitely disappear into them. While waiting for the hot water to cool down just enough that she could get in comfortably, Pete went down to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of wine and two glasses.
Once his de-stressing scene was all set up, he went back to their bedroom. Instead of knocking, Pete just walked in. He found his girlfriend laying face down on the bed. She was still completely dressed in her clothes from the day, which made him feel a slight twinge of sadness for her.
(Y/N) lifted her head just enough to look at Pete before letting it drop back down to the bed. “Go away.”
“I have a bath ready for you.”
(Y/N) rolled over onto her back and looked over at him. “You didn’t have to do that.”
“I think I did, actually. You seem very upset, and we both know how much you love a good bath to help calm down.”
(Y/N) looked at him for a moment longer. She had to admit he was right on that front. She loved to take a nice hot bath after a long, stressful day in order to calm down. But tonight she just felt extra stressed and frustrated to a point where it felt like even a bath wasn’t going to help her.
She couldn’t hold back her giggles as Pete lifted her into his arms and started carrying her towards the bathroom. He played her on the counter and began to strip her of her clothes.
“I think I know how to get undressed, Pete,” she joked.
“But it’s my favorite thing to do!” Pete responded, a goofy smile on her face as he pulled her pants and panties down her legs at the same time, leaving her completely naked in front of him.
“You do light up like a child on Christmas when I take my bra off,” she teased him, noticing his eyes lingering on her chest.
“Your tits are my favorite gifts,” he agreed, tweaking her nipple just once to satisfy the urge inside of him. (Y/N)’s legs tightened a little at the gesture. Pete noticed, but decided not to say anything just yet.
He helped her into the tub and poured her a glass of the wine.
“Aren’t you joining me?” she asked as she took the glass from him.
“I’ll join you in a nice glass of this expensive wine we have,” he said. “But this is your de-stressing bath. I’ll just sit here and watch and drink for a while.”
“That’s romantic,” she said, sarcastically. “I take a nice hot bubble bath all by myself, while my boyfriend sits on the toilet.”
“Hey, could be worse. I could also be naked while I’m sitting here. Imagine how weird that would be.”
(Y/N) crinkled her nose before she started to giggle. Pete smiled as well, feeling a sense of pride in making her laugh.
They both sat together for a while, just sipping their wine. (Y/N) felt her body relaxing in the hot water as she laid her head back against the wall behind her. This really was what she needed after such a long day, whether her more frustrated self wanted to admit it or not.
“What had you so worked up in the first place, babe?” Pete asked as he filled her wine glass.
(Y/N) groaned. “You’re ruining the mood, Pete.”
He chuckled. “Okay, sorry. Just asking is all.”
(Y/N) sighed and lifted her head again to look at him. “Remember how I texted you to tell you I was asked to stay a bit later in order to finish a scene? Well, that ‘a bit later’ turned into three hours later because the director kept making me film the scene over and over and over until he finally decided it was okay. Not perfect, not even great! Just okay. He put us through hours of reshooting just to decide he was going to go with the okay take! Fucking bastard!”
“What was his problem?”
(Y/N) shrugged. “Beats me! Apparently nothing was good enough for him. Wasted three fucking hours filming just to get an okay scene. Then, when I left, I was tired but I wanted to spend at least an hour with you, so I decided to go get coffee. The minute I stepped out of my vehicle I was swarmed by paparazzi. I don’t know how they figured out where I went, but they would not leave me alone. I ended up not even going into the coffee place cause I could not get around at all.”
Pete reached out and took hold of one of (Y/N) bubbly, wet hands. “I’m so sorry, babe. I do get how much the paparazzi shit sucks, but on top of an already bad day? That fucking sucks so much?”
(Y/N) sighed and ran her thumb over Pete’s knuckles. “It does suck. I have to go back to set tomorrow morning and I’m dreading it so much. How am I supposed to go back there after spending so long filming that last scene today? I’ll kill the director the moment I see him.”
“You wouldn’t even hurt a fly baby, let’s not pretend here.”
(Y/N) chuckled. “You’re right, I can’t.”
The silence washed over them again. (Y/N)’s eyes trailed to Pete’s hand. She looked at it for a while, just lost in her own world as she absentmindedly ran her thumb over his knuckles. Then, she started thinking about his long fingers inside of her, curling just right to hit that spot inside of her that drove her over the edge every time. She felt a heat growing between her legs, and if she wasn’t in the bath already she was certain she’d be soaked.
“What are you thinking?” Pete asked, breaking her out of her trance. She looked up at him suddenly, eyes wide with the shock of being caught.
“Uh...” she said, trying to think of something to say. She didn’t want to tell Pete she had been having sexual daydreams, but then she realized what was the harm of telling him? They had been together for quite some time, it’s not like she’d scare him off by telling him anything. “I was thinking about your fingers inside of me.”
Pete’s pants grew a bit tighter at this. “Really? Pretty specific thing to be thinking about.”
“Well, I’m here holding your hand. I’m thinking about things that relax me. Your fingers definitely cause me to relax a lot when they’re down there.”
Pete placed his wine glass on the counter next to him and pulled his shirt over his head. (Y/N) watched in slight confusion, before realization washed over her when Pete’s hand disappeared under the water. He nudged her legs open and slowly ran two fingers up and down her slit, teasingly.
“You feel so wet already baby,” he joked, a smile on his face.
(Y/N) couldn’t contain her own smile and giggles. “You’re such a fucking do - ”
Her playful insult was silenced as Pete pushed two fingers deep inside of her. (Y/N) gasped, her head falling back against the wall behind her again. Pete started pumping in and out of her very slowly, making sure he wasn’t hurting her with what he was doing.
“Is this what you were thinking about baby?” he asked her.
“Fuck Pete,” she breathed. “Fuck yes this feels so good.”
Pete curled his fingers in a way that made it easier for him to hit the right spots. (Y/N) let out a moan and tried to buck her hips against his fingers, but he used his other hand to ease her back down.
“Just sit back and let me take care of you baby,” he said. “I’ll take all your stress away.”
Pete’s erection was becoming nearly unbearable as he watched (Y/N) coming undone in front of him, and felt her warmth wrapped around his fingers. He wanted nothing more than to take her right there, to really fuck any stress left out of her. But at the same time, he didn’t want that. He just wanted to make her feel good, to wipe the memories of he day away.
(Y/N)’s free hand wrapped around Pete’s bicep. Her nails dug so deep into his arm that Pete knew there would be marks there once she pulled away, maybe even full on scratches or blood, but he’d wear the marks with pride. He usually did whenever she left them on him.
He began to speed up his pumping. He felt (Y/N)’s thighs clenching around his hand, as if she were trying to hold him there. Breathy moans were escaping from her lips as he body began to tremble.
“Fuck Pete,” she breathed. “Fuck, I’m starting to feel close.”
“Yeah?” Pete asked. “Are you gonna cum all over my fingers baby?”
In response, (Y/N) moaned again. Pete picked up his pace a little more, causing her moans to become screams of pleasure. He could feel the tension building up in her as he body prepared to let go.
Pete leaned forward to kiss (Y/N) gently on her lips. “Cum for me, princess. Let me feel you.”
With those words, (Y/N) came completely undone. She screamed Pete’s name so loud he was sure the neighbors would hear her. He felt her clenching around his fingers and he wished he could actually feel her wetness and not just that of the water in the tub.
(Y/N) was breathing heavily when Pete was finally able to pull away from her. He stood and grabbed a nearby hand towel to begin drying his hands. (Y/N) watched him, a cloud of lustful fog still blocking her as she tried to recover from her high. Her eyes shifted down to Pete’s crotch area, where she noticed the evergrowing buldge.
“Do you want me to return the favor?” she asked, a lazy smile on her face.
Pete smiled back at her and leaned down to kiss her again. “That’s okay babe. You enjoy your bath until it gets cold.”
(Y/N)’s brows furrowed together. “You don’t want me to do anything for you?”
“Well I didn’t say that,” Pete said. “But for now I just want you to unwind. We can fuck later on. I’ll make you forget your entire day then, maybe even your own name if you’re lucky.”
(Y/N) giggled. “I hope I’ll be lucky then.”
She smiled as she watched Pete leave the room to change his clothes. Despite her teasing words, she felt like she was already the luckiest girl in the world to have such an amazing man by her side.

rivalry (d.m. x reader)
You and Draco Malfoy have a rocky relationship, at best. It'd be better to describe it as a rivalry. But all it takes is a bit of fire from your end to finally make him snap.
(AKA: I just really wanted to write an enemies-to-lovers trope for my first fic.)
A/N: Hi! First fic. Hope you like it. :)
Contains: Degradation, slight edging, d/s elements, slight dub-con (but not really; full consent is clearly given), light humiliation
Word count: 3.9K
-----
Normally, Defense Against the Dark Arts would be your favorite class. The spells you learn are fun and useful; Professor Lupin is always a plus, and most importantly, you’re good at the subject—so bloody good, you’ve bested even Hermione and Harry multiple times.
But lately, you’ve been finding yourself dreading the lessons. So much, in fact, that you were half-considering asking Hermione to hex you just to get out of your afternoon class.
Why? It’s a pretty easy answer when you got down to it.
Draco Malfoy.
You’d had an ongoing rivalry with the git since third grade. He’s been terrorizing you and your friends, mostly because of Harry, but along the way the two of you had begun building a personal vendetta.
(He probably hasn’t quite yet forgiven you for hexing him so badly he’d had to stay in the Infirmary for weeks, and you certainly haven’t forgiven him for causing your friends so much grief over the years.)
This year, you’d thought you could try your best to avoid him, with your upcoming N.E.W.T.s and all. But DADA had other plans.
Professor Lupin had begun experimenting with mixing up partners for class—it was, after all, a very hands-on class—and had apparently decided that cross-house interaction would build bonds and skill. His exact words were, “If they’re your friend, you’re gonna go easier on them. In the real world, you never know who you’re fighting with—or against.”
So he’d randomized the name list. You, being Gryffindor, knew immediately you wouldn’t be with any of your closest friends—but you hoped that perhaps you’d be paired with Cedric, or Luna, or anyone but—
“Your partner is Draco Malfoy,” Professor Lupin informed you when he got to your name, and you immediately make to protest.
“Her?” a voice came just as you complained “Not him”, and the students parted to reveal Draco himself, glaring daggers at you and Lupin.
“Yes, her,” Lupin replied, unruffled. “Now, pair up, everyone. We’re practicing Stunning today.”
That day, you’d fucking limped out of the classroom. Not to say Draco had gotten it easier—he could barely stand after you Disarmed, Stunned, and hit him with a nasty stinger hex just for the sake of it. (You’d gotten detention, but it was worth it.)
Today’s your second class with Malfoy, and you’ve never wanted more to be able to commit violent actions in your life.
“Please,” you whisper to Hermione as your group enter the DADA classroom. “Just one hex. I won’t even go to Pomfrey. No witnesses. You could just Petrify me, if that’s more to your liking.”
She sighs. “I’m not going to Petrify you.”
“’Mione,” you say, scandalized. “I thought we were friends.”
“Pair up, everyone,” Lupin calls out. Your friends shuffle away and you close your eyes, already getting a headache from the thought of—
“Well, well.” That fucking smarmy voice. “If it isn’t Potter’s little friend.”
“If it isn’t Daddy’s boy,” you snap, opening your eyes and glaring at Malfoy, who already has his wand out. “Bugger off, Malfoy.”
“Afraid I can’t do that.” Draco’s eyes narrow. Clearly, he’s as displeased with the situation as you are. “What are we doing today, then? Can’t wait to knock you down a few notches. Star of the class, my—”
“Patronuses!” Professor Lupin announces from across the room, and your heart soars—Patronuses, you could do that. Harry, months earlier, had taught you how to perfect a corporeal form in exchange for tips on his Astronomy essay. He isn’t here today—maybe you could be the only one in the class to do it.
Lupin continues, “Yes, the Patronus—an essential in the world of Defense magic. We’ll be starting with just the simple basics of it. A strong flick of the wand, and the words ‘Expecto Patronum!’. Say it with me, everyone.”
You chorus the words obediently along with the class, Malfoy’s snort of derision not going unnoticed.
“Good. Good, good, now—the key to the Patronus is to think of a happy memory. It has to be strong. Remember, Dementors feed on misery—it’s the only way to keep them away. Now, go practice. I’ll be walking around to see if there’s any problems.”
“Expecto Patronom,” Malfoy repeats in a mocking voice once the classroom starts filling with the chants of fellow students. “Doesn’t Potter know how to do that one? Heard he can do a deer. Pretty weak animal if you ask me—”
“A stag,” you correct. “And it’s Patronum, not Patronom.”
He glares at you again. “Think you’re so smart, don’t you?”
“Certainly smarter than you are.” You glance at him. “Though that’s not saying much, is it?”
You give Fred Weasley, who’d circled around to hear the conversation, a not-discreet fist-bump.
“Alright then.” Malfoy spits out your last name, trying to provoke you. “Let’s see you do it.”
“You try,” you suggest, hiding your smirk. “Unless you’re too scared.”
Draco grits his teeth. Unwilling to back down from a challenge, he brandishes his wand. “Expecto Patronum!”
A thin, wispy light appears at the end of his wand—weak, but clearly visible. Classmates around you murmur as they notice it, and Professor Lupin beams as he sees Draco’s doing. “Very good, Draco! A fantastic start.”
Draco flicks his wand smugly and the Patronus charm dissipates. He smirks, shooting you an expectant look.
You take out your wand, feeling its familiar grip, and you close your eyes. You recall the memory of a weekend in Hogsmeade with your friends, drinking Butterbeer as you stroll through the snowy village, pointing out the shops and people. Unconsciously, you smile.
“Expecto Patronum!”
Light blazes so bright you can see it under closed eyes, and you open them to find a glowing golden retriever prancing out the end of your wand. It bounds around in the air joyfully, leaving a trail of light where it leaps, and circles the classroom, eventually coming back to you and wagging its tail.
Professor Lupin is grinning, utterly delighted as he takes in your Patronus. Calling your name, he exclaims, “That is phenomenal—you’ve learned fast. Very impressive job!”
You smile back, and your Patronus glows lighter in response. You quickly call it off, the light being a bit too much, and the rest of the class passes by in a haze of awed murmurs and classmates asking your advice on their spellwork. You become so preoccupied, you don’t even notice Draco’s unrelenting stare on your back.
The class ends fast, the bell tolling to signify the start of what would be a study period for you. As students trail out of the classroom, chattering happily, Professor Lupin calls you over.
“Listen, I want you to know that what you did today was truly impressive,” he says, seriously. “I assume Harry laid out the groundwork, yes?”
You nod. He smiles. “You and Harry both are very accomplished students, then. But truly—I doubt many Aurors could’ve managed what you did today.”
“Thank you, Professor.” Your words are sincere.
“My pleasure.” Professor Lupin shoots you an apologetic look. “Now, I’m terribly sorry, but I have off-grounds business to attend to—would you mind setting the classroom to rights? I’m afraid I had to push the desks and chairs back for our class, but I don’t have time to put them back. I’ll write you a note, if you—”
“Oh, no, Professor, don’t worry, it’s a study period. I’d be glad to help.”
“Thank you,” he says, relieved, already heading out the door. “Thank you. I’ll see you tomorrow, then. I’ll bring chocolate to compensate!”
“Goodbye, Professor!” you call, and he echoes it, and then he’s gone. You look around the classroom, seeing all the desks in the back, and you crack your knuckles. Time to get to work.
“Well. Quite the teacher’s pet, aren’t we?”
Merlin’s fucking beard.
“Bloody hell, Malfoy,” you mutter, turning around to find him leaning against the classroom doorframe. His blond hair glints silver in the sunlight, and his entire outline—his uniform, his stance, his dark gaze—is just… honestly, unfairly attractive.
So maybe your first impression of Draco Malfoy, years ago, wasn’t that he was a self-entitled git. Maybe, just maybe, you’d thought he was the prettiest boy you’d ever seen.
And maybe that feeling never went away.
Not that you’d let him know that.
“What are you doing here?”
“Study period.” He starts walking towards you, shutting the door behind him. “Couldn’t help but be curious as to what Lupin wanted with you.”
“What’s it to you?” you snap. Malfoy doesn’t reply.
“Why do you insist on being so difficult?” he asks instead, and you blink.
“Me?” you splutter. “Difficult? Fat lot of sense that makes, with you fucking insulting me at every move I make—”
“As I recall, our first interaction was you hexing me in third-year.” Malfoy sounds amused.
“You pushed Harry into the lake,” you snap at him. “You bloody well deserved it.”
Draco laughs. “Good times.”
“Malfoy, what the bloody hell are you doing here?”
“You’ve got quite a mouth.”
“My mouth is also capable of jinxing you three ways to Friday, so I suggest you leave me alone, yeah?” Your fingers twitch towards your wand in preparation, and he only looks on with derision.
“I’m just frightened,” Malfoy sneers. You barely notice him slipping off his rings, pocketing them. “Potter taught you that Patronus charm, didn’t he?”
“What’s it to you?”
“Nothin’. Just wondering what else he taught you.” A vengeful mood seems to have taken Draco. “You seem to hang out with him an awful lot.”
“It’s called having friends,” you snap right back. He looks as though he’s about to retort, but you push on. “Unfamiliar with the concept? Wouldn’t be surprised. Crabbe and Goyle don’t seem like the best conversationalists, are they? Just a couple of goons. Wonder why you don’t have better friends. Friends you can actually talk to who operate with more than one braincell.”
“Shut—”
“Maybe it’s because no one wants to be near you,” you continue, years of pent up frustration spilling out in a vitriolic spiel. “Because you’re a miserable bastard who doesn’t know how to be happy, aren’t you? You drive everyone away and then you go after more because you’re lonely and sad and fucking pathetic—”
“Shut up,” Malfoy repeats with a vehemence.
“—and it’s too fucking late to repair the damage you’ve done—”
“Shut up,” Malfoy snarls, and you stare into his narrowed eyes.
“Fucking make me,” you snap back, and he lunges.
You’re pinned against the wall of the classroom, Malfoy’s wand to your throat and a hand fisting your robes to render you immobile. Draco flicks his wand, ever-so-slightly, and you hear the classroom door lock with a wordless spell.
“Malfoy,” you whisper, but he cuts you off.
“Shut the fuck up or I swear you’ll bloody regret it,” he hisses.
“Draco,” you begin, and he curses.
“Fuck it.”
Gripping your robes, he leans in and kisses you.
It’s rough and demanding and you think he’s trying to hurt you, with how much his teeth scrape against your bottom lip and bite down gently, but you’re not pulling away, he’s not pulling away, and you find yourself leaning into the kiss, arching up to meet him—
He breaks away and looks at you, smirking.
“If I’d known that’s what it would take for you to shut your bloody mouth, I’d have done it years ago.”
“Let me go, Malfoy,” you say shakily, but even as he loosens his grip slightly, you show no sign of moving.
“If you’d wanted to leave you’d have Stunned me long ago,” he states, truthfully. Your wand is fully in reach. You know how to do wordless spells. And yet you let him kiss you.
“Shut up,” you grumble, still not moving.
“I think, perhaps,” Draco murmurs, glancing down at your body, “you’re enjoying this.”
“No,” you argue, and his wand digs into your neck—not enough to hurt but enough to register.
“Shh,” Draco hushes, almost condescendingly. “Be quiet, now. That’s a good girl.”
Involuntarily, you shudder at his words. They made your legs weak, and you fight off the urge to audibly whimper—what the hell’s gotten into you?
Maybe he won’t notice. Maybe he hasn’t noticed.
Of fucking course he notices.
“Oh?” The shit-eating smirk on his face is enough to make you glare absolute daggers at him. “Don’t give me that. You shivered. You liked it.”
“Shut up,” you say again, with no real strength.
“Don’t you want to be my good girl, sweetheart?” he teases cruelly, and you have to close your eyes to fight off the blush. It doesn’t work, and your face grows hot with embarrassment and arousal.
“Dear me,” Draco says mockingly. “What happened to the spitfire from minutes ago, hm? Still feeling like saying those words to me? Still feeling like being bad?”
Inadvertently, you shake your head.
“Who’s pathetic now?” he mocks, grinning, letting his wand trail a cold path down your neck, over your collarbone, until it rests on the top button of your uniform. “May I?”
The question sounds mocking, but he meets your gaze and you know he’s honestly asking for permission. And you give it to him, nodding, even as your blush deepens. Draco undoes your buttons, one by one, with tiny flicks of his wand, until your shirt is fully unbuttoned and you’re exposed to his gaze.
Draco shoves his wand into his belt and pushes your bra out of the way with an almost laughable urgency, getting a full, appreciative look at your breasts. “So fucking pretty,” he murmurs. “Shame they belong to such a fucking headache, hm?”
You grumble some sort of an insult, and Draco pinches a nipple, which shuts you up effectively. “That’s what I thought.”
His hands trail down to your skirt, and instead of undoing the button he leans down and scoops the fabric up. “Here, be good and useful and hold this for me.”
The indifferent praise and the degradation combined has you obeying immediately, hoisting your skirt up and baring yourself to him, which only adds to an eddying swirl of shame and arousal pooling in your gut. Draco looks at you, stares, really, and it’s with a predatory grin that he reaches over to caress you through your panties.
“Soaked,” he observes, sounding both amused and satisfied. “You always get off this much to being treated like a right slut, then?”
“Draco,” you whine, bucking your hips up into his almost phantom touch. “Come on.”
“Is that how we ask nicely?” Oh, this bloody git. You’ll never be able to look at him again—he’s going to be so fucking smug around you.
When you don’t answer, he withdraws his touch completely, and you make a sound of protest. “No, no, please.”
“Go on.”
“Please touch me,” you try, but it’s hard to focus when you’re so goddamn wet you’re soaking through your panties.
“Not quite,” Draco muses. He’s palming himself through his trousers, and the sight turns you on impossibly more. “Come on, then—convince me.”
“Draco, please touch me,” you beg. One of your hands drift down to your panties but he slaps it away immediately, shooting you a warning look. “Please!”
“Touch you where?” He wants you to say it.
“Touch my cunt, please, Draco, fuck, I’m so wet it hurts,” you beg, and it’s true—you’re aching with arousal, and if he doesn’t touch you within the next few seconds you think you really just might combust. “Please, please touch me, I’ll be good, I’ll do whatever you want, just touch me.”
“If only the school could see you now,” he sneers, but even he seems to break his self-control and he tugs your panties down harshly, all but ripping them off. “Baring yourself to me and begging to be touched like a whore.”
“I’m not—oh,” you gasp, his fingers pressing into your cunt immediately and his thumb working on your clit, sending waves of pleasure so potent you almost double over. His fingers are long and thin, which is why he can press two in without preamble, and the stretch is barely noticeable.
“You’re not what? A whore?” Draco laughs. “Please. Look at yourself.”
“’m not,” you insist, but you clench around his fingers at his words and he raises an eyebrow.
“I think you’re lying.” He presses a third finger in and you whine, little sounds of pleasure escaping your lips as he works you open. “Quieter, now, or I’ll have to gag you.”
You bite your lip, and Draco thumbs your clit as a reward and incentive. “Now, tell me what you are. Be truthful, or I won’t fuck you. I’ll leave, leave you here with your shirt hanging open and your skirt up, the doors wide open. Maybe the next bloke who stumbles in might help you.”
Your eyes widen—he wouldn’t. But his gaze is dead serious. “Say it.”
“I’m a whore,” you breathe, and he thrusts his fingers into you, hitting that right spot. “Draco!”
“Say it louder,” he orders, angling his fingers and curling them.
“I’m a whore,” you moan out, bucking your hips upwards—you’re close, you’re so close. “Draco, I—”
He stops moving, and his other hand pinches your clit harshly. “No.”
You let out a gasp of shock and hurt, reeling from the denial and pleasure. “But—”
“You’re not fucking coming until I say so,” Draco hisses, undoing his belt and pushing his trousers down. “And I’m not saying so until I properly fuck you into a bloody wreck.”
His cock is already hard, and he positions himself right at your entrance. You can feel him, his tip pressed against your wetness, but not pushing in. “Draco—”
“I think,” he muses, and you want to scream, “one day I’ll drag you into a broom closet. Fuck your throat so hard you won’t be able to talk for the day. You’ll look pretty, don’t you think?”
“Please—”
“Or I’ll bring you back to my dorm, so I can fuck you until you’re screaming yourself hoarse,” Draco says thoughtfully. “Your dorm works. So long as I can ruin you.”
“Malfoy—”
“Because it’s just so—” and he pushes into you in one swift movement, fucking into you immediately with a fast and rough rhythm, “—fucking nice to see you being a slut for me.”
“Fuck!” You grind your hips along with his rhythm, feeling the tightness of your cunt around his cock, and you clench as he hits your sweet spot with the right angle, almost shaking with the pleasure that it gives you.
Draco groans your name, fucking you brutally as he chases his own release, already pent-up from the teasing and the sight of your wrecked state. “’m gonna come on your tits, would you like that? Get it all fucking messy, maybe get some into your mouth, get you fucking ruined?”
“Please, please, fuck, please let me come,” you plead him, feeling your impending orgasm barrel towards you—you couldn’t last, you can’t fucking last—
“Fucking hold it,” Draco snaps. “Hold it like a good fucking girl, you understand?”
You let out a mournful sound, but you nod—yes, I’ll be good, I’ll be good, please—
“Salazar, I’m fucking close,” Malfoy breathes into your ear, his voice rough and strained. “You feel so good, love, so bloody tight.”
“Please,” you whimper, not even sure what you’re pleading for at this point. Draco exhales shakily and curses, pulling out and pushing you to your knees with such a force that you drop down, your skirt being the only padding.
“Wh—?” you try to ask, but Draco is already pumping his cock and then he’s coming all over your face, some of it dripping down to paint your breasts as he’d promised. Draco leans down to gather some release on a finger and pushes it into your mouth, eyes darkening as you suck and swallow around it.
“Good girl,” he praises, and you almost come right there.
“Draco, please,” you beg, still on your knees and still absolutely fucking desperate for release that he’s been denying you for the past half hour. “Please let me—”
“Alright, spread your legs, c’mon,” Draco guides, and you obey and then he’s there, thumb rubbing steady circles around your clit and two fingers pushing inside you once more. You whine and grind into his fingers, his touch, hips following his movement as he pushes you closer—closer—
“Fuck!” you sob as he senses your impending orgasm and stills his hand. “No—no, why?”
You sound like a petulant child and Draco laughs at you, and it’s an unfair move and a mean sound but it somehow turns you on even more. “I’m just messing, sweetheart.”
Fuck you, you badly want to say, but somehow you feel like that won’t get you what you want.
Draco starts moving again, his fingers gaining speed, and the sound of them pumping in and out of your soaked cunt sounds delightfully dirty. You’re quickly pushed to the edge again, and amidst your pleasure you eye Draco distrustfully.
“Please,” you whisper, and he smirks at you.
“Well, since you asked so nicely.”
And he thumbs your clit and you’re coming, gasping with the pleasure and shaking as he eases you through it. His fingers don’t stop moving, even after your orgasm has faded, and you squirm in discomfort as he overstimulates you.
“Stop—please—”
“Promise me you won’t be a bloody pain again,” Draco levels at you, and you want to glare back but his fingers curl inside of you and you yelp with pleasure and pain. “Promise me, or I’ll keep going.”
“I—I won’t be a pain,” you mumble, trying to squeeze your thighs together to get rid of his touch, but he perseveres, flicking your clit mercilessly.
“Say you’ll be good.”
“I’ll be good,” you manage, so close to sobbing from the frustration. “Please, Draco, I’ll be good, be good for you, please stop.”
He relents and you feel him draw his hand back. You close your eyes and you hear him tug his trousers back on, buckling his belt. You feel strangely empty without him—without his fingers, his cock, his touch.
Draco produces a handkerchief from his pocket and wipes the sweat, drool, and cum off your face, helping you button your shirt back up as well. “You alright?”
“Never better,” you reply, opening your eyes to see him staring at you in concern, all traces of the cruel tease earlier gone. Outside, the sun is setting, casting orange hues into the classroom, and you suddenly remember. “I—oh, bloody hell, I have to arrange the desks for Lupin—”
“I’ll do it. Stay here.”
Draco stands up and takes out his wand, flicking it twice in quick succession. A wordless spell. As you watch, the desks and chairs slide back to where they used to be, neatly arranging themselves in rows.
You’re impressed as he comes back. “What spell is—hey!”
He’s flicked his wand once more and torn your panties clean off your legs.
“Draco—what in Merlin—”
“A souvenir.” Malfoy smirks, stuffing your soaked panties into the pocket of his trousers. “And payment for the desks.”
“You’re a bloody prick,” you say, leaning your head back against the wall.
“Careful now, love. Remember what you promised.” Draco’s tone is playful, but warning. “I’m a man of my word, so you should choose yours carefully. Next time I won’t be as gentle.”
Caught off-guard, you can only nod obediently, which seems to please him. But you can’t promise you won’t slip back into old habits the very next day. Whatever the case, one thing was clear—there would almost certainly be a next time.

MEET THE MIKAELSONS| D.H.
Pairing: Derek x Fem! Reader, Teen Wolf x The Originals (requested)
Word count: 1962 words
Warning: none, just fluff
Summary: Reader takes her friends and her boyfriend, Derek to visit her family home where they find out that she’s related to the infamous Mikaelson vampires.
“Just don’t touch anything,” I command calmly, Stiles pausing mid air as his hand hovers over one of Klaus’s paintings and everyone allows for a soft laugh, Derek kissing the side of my head as his hand remains inside my back pocket.
“This place is beautiful,” Lydia notes, looking around slowly as her eyes move over the various features of the compound.
“Yeah,” I say with a shrug, walking deeper into the compound as I mimic her actions, mentally comparing the way it looks to the pictures Rebekah sent me with her letters and I can’t help but smile when my eyes settle on the Mikaelson crest, fingers reaching out mindlessly as I trace the carved wall numbly.
“What does it stand for?” Derek asks, moving behind me where he wraps his hands around my waist, face resting on my shoulder. My smile grows due to the gesture, free hand finding one of his.
“Mikaelson,” I note softly, memories of our family suddenly speeding through my mind like a slideshow, things I’d told myself I’d forgotten completely proving to be embedded into my brain.
“Like the ancient vampire family?” Scott asks, having disappeared to the bathroom for a minute as soon as we got here.
“More vampires?” Stiles asks from behind me, and I nod.
“Yeah, they’re the first of their kind,” I explain, though my attention is far from this conversation, a feeling similar to the one I felt when I explained this to Derek, him being the only one knowing not only who I truly am and where I come from, but whom I was running from. “The Originals,” I add, and Derek gives me a slight squeeze, turning me around in his arms, probably picking up on my dazed state.
“Cool,” Is all Stiles offers as a reply, taking Lydia’s hand as Scott follows them to explore more of the house.
“You okay?” He whispers, leaning towards me. I nod in his hold, hands moving to his arms.
“Just a little weird being here, I guess.” I look up to him, smiling slightly when our eyes meet. “I thought that when I finally got to see this place in all its glory, they’d be here with me, waiting maybe,” Derek nods with understanding, smiling sympathetically.
“I’m sorry, sweetheart,” He loosens his grip, leaning back to get a better look at me. “We can leave if you’re not comfortable,” He offers sweetly and I shake my head with a smile, kissing his lips quickly.
“No,” I tell him though I can’t hide the slight rise in my tone, his brows furrowing as a result. “We need to let things cool down in Beacon Hills and no one will bother us here,” I pause, sighing softly as I move my hands over his bare arms. “Besides, there’s a literal coffin around here somewhere with my name on it.”
“Wait really?” Derek asks intrigued as he looks around the room pointlessly. I nod, not fighting against the smile on my lips.
“Yeah, a dagger too, but I doubt we’ll find that just laying around,” I pull away from him briefly, taking his hand in mine as I guide him towards the hallway by the staircase where Stiles’ is excitedly gesturing towards the wall.
“It’s her!” He announces loudly, eyes moving over the painting that Klaus painted of our family, and I subconsciously tighten my grip on Derek’s hand, his thumb moving up and down against my skin to soothe me.
“It’s not her,” Lydia argues with a roll of her eyes, arms folded as Scott simply watches the scene unfold. “It’s far more likely to be a relative that looks remarkably a lot like her,” She reasons and Derek bites back a grin at my side.
“She’s a vampire, right?” Stiles ask, looking to me for conformation and I nod, seeing no need for the question as he literally walked in on me sipping from a blood bag a few months ago. “And she’s been annoyingly vague about her family and her history, right?” He asks, question directed at Scott and Lydia this time, they both nod. “And she brought us to her family home, which has paintings of the Mikaelson family which Scott saw in the bestiary, where he also read that the Mikaelson family also have a long-lost hybrid sister who hasn’t been spotted in years…” Stiles nods eagerly as he waits for the pieces to fall together, Scott and Lydia looking to me as it does.
“Are you a Mikaelson?” Scott asks, hands in his pockets as he shifts on his feet, I release a shaky breath before offering a mere nod as reply, Stiles almost jumping up and down with the conformation of him being correct.
“Holy shit,” Stiles begins and turns to me, eyes sparkling with excitement. “That is so cool, like literally the coolest thing you’ve ever told us about yourself,” He informs me, and Derek shakes his head at my side, glaring at the boy as he continues to grow more excited.
“Why didn’t you tell us?” Scott asks hesitantly, ignoring Stiles who is fiddling with his jacket sleeves as he takes a closer look at my specific painting. “Didn’t you trust us?” He adds as well, and I shake my head quickly.
“Of course I trust you,” I begin, and Derek squeezes my hand again, reminding me to breathe as I think of the best way to explain this. “I wanted to tell you all, truly I did, but our family has enemies around every corner, and I didn’t want to bring you guys into that,” I look over all of them quickly before turning to meet Derek’s gaze. “I love you all too much to create unnecessary collateral damage.“
“So why tell us now?” Lydia questions with a raised brow and I notice the added heartbeats filling the room behind us before I could fathom a reply, the gushing wind of their entrance still swirling around us.
“Because you’re in need of our assistance,” A familiar voice explains, and I close my eyes for a second in preparation before turning to face my older brother.
“Elijah,” I whisper in acknowledgement, the words barely leaving my lips before he’s picking me up into his arms, twirling me around in a welcoming hug that causes a childlike giggle to erupt from my lips. “I’ve missed you too,” I confirm, hands on his shoulders as he sets my feet back on the ground and I take a moment to center myself. “And you,” I say when my eyes meet with Rebekah’s, happy tears tugging at her eyes and I release myself from Elijah’s presence to pull her into my arms, her arms folding around my neck as she holds me close.
“It has been far too long, Y/n ,” She whispers, laughing lightly through her tears. She squeezes me tightly before pulling away, hands moving to comb back the hair that’s been ruffled through our hug and her hands still on my cheeks as she takes me in. “My little sister, even more beautiful than I remember,” She notes, which earns a scoff from both my lips and Elijah’s.
“I look exactly the same, Bekah and you know it,” I muse, taking the handkerchief from Elijah’s hands to hold it out for Rebekah . “Though, I’d never turn down the compliment from the beauty of the family.”
“Oh, I take great offense by your insinuation, love, ” Klaus announces, and everyone turns to the entrance, where he leans against the wall, watching the interaction. “Welcome home, Y/n,” He notes with a large smile, and I know as far as greeting go, that’s quite the scene from the hybrid.
“Thank you, Niklaus,” I offer in the same and my cheeks practically hurt form the pure excitement rushing through me at seeing them all again, the nerves and discomfort from earlier slipping away almost completely, until Klaus’ eyes meet Derek’s and suddenly reality sinks back in. I take a few steps back, smiling up at Derek before rejoining our hands, my other hand snaking around his upper arm to keep him close. “I should introduce everyone,” I note with a nervous smile and Derek simply nods reassuringly.
“I’d begin with the creature you’re so eagerly latching onto,” Klaus announces, happy tone from earlier replaced with the all so familiar big brother voice.
“Play nice, Niklaus,” Elijah instructs, accepting my grateful smile before silently commanding me to continue.
“This is my boyfriend, Derek,” I begin, looking up at the man as he extends a hand towards Elijah inducing the longest handshake I’ve ever had to endure until Rebekah clears her throat, the two men pulling away from each other. “Then there’s Lydia, Stiles and Scott,” I add, releasing a small huff of air as I gesture to each of them individually.
“It’s good to meet all of,” Rebekah speaks up, catching my gaze with a warm smile before she looks to my guests. “We’re the Mikaelsons,” She explains, and I nod lightly. “Elijah, Klaus and I’m Y/n’s personal favorite, Rebekah,” She declares simply, mimicking my gesture until everyone has extended an acknowledging nod.
“We should talk business,” Klaus commands suddenly, standing from his leaning position to walk towards us. “You bunch are here for a reason, aren’t you?” He muses with a slight wink my way and I roll my eyes at the remark, knowing that only he would take this opportunity to take a jab at my decision to leave them.
“Don’t start, Niklaus,” Elijah offers with a tight tone and I would’ve laughed if the room wasn’t so tense, a sense of familiarity filling me at the little group dynamic that’s remained the same through all these years.
“I’m not starting anything, Elijah,” Klaus replies, hurriedly pulling his leather jacket straight. “I’m simply trying to remind our dear sister that she is here on what she called a family favor and that we wouldn’t want to waste her precious time,” I’m too late to stop the soft laugh that escapes my lips, Klaus turning towards be in slight shock.
"Honestly Klaus, it has been centuries and you're telling me that no one has yet to remove that stick from your ass?” I mock and Elijah steps forward, fully prepared to stop the interaction when a smile traces the hybrids lips.
“Little sister,” He muses and then shakes his head, pointing at me. “You have booked yourself a long dinner,” He announces and pats Elijah on the shoulder to invite him to leave the room with him. Elijah spares me a brief smile before following.
“That went better than expected,” Rebekah notes and I smile at her, nodding with relief as Klaus and Elijah begin discussing the diner plans on their climb up the stairs. “Why don’t I show you three your rooms,” she says and motions for Scott, Stiles and Lydia to follow them, pausing to give me a quick kiss on the cheek before leading them away as well. I turn to Derek with a smile, his eyes already waiting for mine as I do.
“You did good, sweetheart,” he tells me, making my heart swell as I lean into him. “I’m very proud of you,” He adds, and I feel a blush creeps onto my cheeks.
“I couldn’t have done it without you at my side,” I say simply, resting my chin against his chest as I look up at him. He hums lightly, shaking his head as he lifts his free hand to gently push the hair behind my ear.
“You definitely could have,” He muses and gently kisses my forehead, sending a welcome rush of pure bliss through my veins, I smile as he lingers close. “My brave girl.”

Could you write a reunion fic as a sequel to the Heisenberg 'alone time' that you wrote? While smut would be wonderful, I'd just be grateful for apologetic Karl forced to be humble for once in his life.
(Also im DYING to know what he did, did OC/Reader discover his Soldats or about Rose? Im so curious and itching for more)
Your writing is awesome and I hope to get to read more Heisenberg goodness from you!
A/N: Thanks so much and I'm glad you guys are enjoying what I'm writing, sorry if it took so long and I'll be happy to answer more asks (including angst and fluff) for RE8. Sorry if this is so damn long but hope you guys enjoy it nonetheless. Also decided to make it gender neutral as I didn't want anyone to be left out.

It's been far too long since you have seen that man and you hoped not to see him for as long as you both may live, for a time you thought it was just 2 people with different paths that force them apart but in a way you couldn't be more wrong. You understood and still understand his need to get rid of his troubling and frankly corrupt family, you both shared a dream to run away from the Village and to live somewhere with beautiful sights. To have some form of happiness even if it doesn't last, sure normal life may seem boring but it's all that you both wanted, happiness away from reminders of Miranda and the rest of his seemingly fucked up family. But what it took to for him to get it, his plan that he seemingly thought was so brilliant only made you boil with rage and painful reminders of your past is brought from the dark corners of your memories and into the light of your mind. Children. They're so innocent, good, and pure ... they bring out everything in people, children are something that you hold near and dear to your heart. Children are everything that the world isn't, at least until they're forced to grow up and deal with the cruelty of the world. This wasn't the first time that you had disagreed or fought with Karl in your mind, but what really caused you to boil over was his plans.
A heavy huff slips from your lips as your heavy steps full of anger echoed throughout the factory, your hands are balled into tight fists and your fingers trembled along with your body, you just couldn't fucking take it. You weren't going to stand by and turn a blind eye to sacrificing an innocent child for your happiness, you weren't going to and Karl as usual tried to convince you into it. Make it seem like it'll be worth it in the end. He's stomping after you, following after you like a dog and you can hear him desperately trying to get you to stay, you keep your eyes forward and keep making your way towards the exit. Just as the door is in sight, he reaches out to grab your wrist causing you to gasp before trying to pull out of his grasp, he pulls you firmly towards him and makes you meet his eyes. His green eyes are clouded with ... desperation, they're soft and vulnerable but it didn't phase you. Not one bit. "Come on, (Y/N) ... you know that I'd do anything for you. ... You know I love you ... that's why I have to do this, kitten. You have to fucking understand ...!" He pleads with you, you turn away from his face, that bitter taste still remains on your tongue and his words fall deaf to your ears. "You don't understand! You don't understand at all! You're in your own fucking bubble ...! I can't do this! I can't live with the fact that the man I'm in love with is willing to sacrifice an innocent child for a chance at happiness." You growl at him, your words are breathless and harsh and it stings like poison to his soul, his expression begins to slowly fade into resentment. A look you had never seen before, especially towards you. "Listen to me! ... The fruits of our labor shall come ... but it all comes with a little sacrifice." He barks, his grip on your wrist slightly tightening with his anger rising as he tries to plead with you, get you to understand but you could care less. "Then I don't want to share that kind of happiness or freedom with you at all ...!" You bark back, your words are dripping in poison and there isn't much care behind them, a huff leaves your nostrils and you once again try to get out of his painfully tight grasp but he wants you to hear him. Fuck. "I thought ... fuck ... I thought you fucking loved me. All those nights, all those late-night talks, the passionate love we made ... I guess it meant fuck-all to you, huh? I guess you never gave a fuck about me ... I wanted you to ... I wanted you to understand." Karl seethes, his words are in a low growl and his green eyes are clouded with bubbling rage and fury. Fuck.
"I did love you, Karl. I still do but you have to leave or do something, I don't fuckin' know but there should be a limit to the price you're willing to pay for a chance at freedom. ... I'm not willing to. This ... this brings back too many painful memories, I would never let myself live if I let her die." You almost sob, your anger that was once boiling and alive was now being put out by the melancholy that rested deep within your soul. That baby reminds you so much of ... your history. You never told him about your past and the trauma you somewhat suffer from it that makes you long and ache for freedom. But now wasn't the time. At all. "I can't do that ...! You know I can't ...! You can't leave me, (Y/N) ...!" He shouts at you, desperately clinging to his relationship that is burning, crumbling right in front of his very eyes, he's trying so hard to save it but the thought quickly floods in what if he can't save what you have? His jaw clenches and his throat begins to tighten, breaths become hard to even get out and you can hear his low growl of rage and sorrow echo through your ears. Your throat had tightened the moment he reached out for your hand and now the tears were swelling in your eyes, leaving them uncontrollably. "I love you, Karl. But this is the end of us. The end of our story together." You managed to choke out as his expression softens yet he's stiff, a frown is plastered on his lips, and doesn't seem like it's leaving anytime soon. Regrets plague his mind, "I regret ever opening up to you. Fuck, I never should've let you into my life especially if you were gonna fuck me over and leave me alone." He thinks to himself and immediately lets go of your wrist, he forces on a blank expression and forces his tears to be hidden away, he pushes away his heartache and goes back to the only way he knows how to not fall apart, to not lose himself and to become weak.
"I never wanna see your fuckin' face again. Leave. Don't even think of coming back. You fuckin' ... you fuckin' hurt me ..." He grunts and growls at you, even lightly pushing you towards the door before turning his back on you as he crosses his arms. Fuck. "I'm sorry for the pain I've caused." You manage to say in a whisper, wiping away your tears and sniffling to yourself before leaving out that door and never looking back, it was hard leaving him behind to wallow and experience his pain alone that you caused. But you stand by your choice that you couldn't stay if he had to use Rose for his plans. Still, he plagued your dreams, still had nightmares about that man, about losing him in so many graphic ways. You tried to live your life, going to work and just trying to find a way to live without seeing Karl ever again at least you thought. You never forgot him. It was around 2 in the morning and you managed to sleep for just a few minutes until your phone rang obnoxiously loud, ringing and vibrating against your nightstand. You sat up, rubbing your eyes, and an annoyed groan left your lips before you picked up your phone, though you had lost his number you knew it was in that village and it meant that he was the only one calling you. You almost want to toss your phone across the room, a familiar bitter taste begins to coat your tongue and you slowly take in a breath staring at the phone in your hand. "God fucking damn it." You curse bitterly, regretfully pressing the answer button on your phone, scratching at your head you answer with a bitter and low "hello" that is answered with heavy ragged breaths. Coughing soon follows after and echoes through the phone. "What the he-" You begin to ask before you're interrupted by his sudden cursing and rage-filled words. "Stupid fucking Ethan Winters ... the bastard ... couldn't even ... finish the job ..." He coughs into the phone, blood pools in his gut, fuck he was ruining one of his favorite shirts and an empty swallowing pain aches through his stomach. But he barely cared.
"The fuck are you rambling about, Karl ...?" You ask harshly, standing up on your feet as you press the phone to your ear, waiting for an explanation. "Oh, fuck off! You wouldn't understand ...! Or care!" He howls back before you can hear him cough once again before a wince soon slips from his parted lips, an agitated expression twists onto your face. "You must've thought I would care if you thought to fuckin' call me. Tell me what's up or I swear I'll fucking hang up." You bark at him, clenching your fists tightly as heavy ragged breaths left your body in the presence of your anger. " ... If you do give a damn ... then your ex is bleeding the fuck out in his factory ... with no knowledge of medicine and shit." He coughs out, he presses his hand firmly onto his large wound, fuck was he in bad shape and Ethan Winters had fucked him up but like a coward left him alive. "I might be there. Keep pressure on the wound and try not to die, dickhead." You huff in a ragged breath before hanging up quickly, in a way you thought it was karma for him wanting to use a baby and possibly murder a baby to get rid of his toxic and frankly not real family.
You sit back down onto your bed with a heavy sigh leaving your lips and a question on your mind. Was it gonna be worth it? He could be trying to trick you, you thought to yourself and really questioned if you should drive there and help him supposedly. As much as you wanted to be bitter, to hold onto that resentment but your heart and soul ached to see that filthy man, it called out to him desperately. Your heart sang to see him, to hear him despite your mind's warnings and reasonable viewing of the situation. Like a dumbass, you listened to your heart and began to get dressed, you threw on some old coat and a pair of washed-up skinny jeans, you grabbed a med-kit and some stitches and quickly rush to drive to the hidden and eerie village. With your foot pressed hard on the gas pedal, you kept wishing and praying that he'd be fine, that the waste of gas and the risk of being pulled over by cops worth it. When you finally make it to the factory, it's grim and dark and seemingly stopped working, the smoke that came from the factory is gone, the noise and the racket that his factory produced every second. You quickly get out of your car, medkit, and tools in your arms as you enter, you can hear his heavy strained breaths echoing through the factory that is now seemingly dead. Lifeless. A series of coughs leave his lips as he sits slumped up against the side of his bed, his blood drips and oozes off his hand, covering his stomach wound as the pain just continued, it still ached and stung like salt on an exposed wound. His head is dizzy with a haze over him, fuck was his head aching like a motherfucker and everything on his body ached and cried out in pain. "Karl ...?!" He hears you shout desperately searching for the man, he could hear the distress in your voice, the panic that came in your hurried and seemingly quick steps. "I-I'm h-here ..." He weakly responds in a low whisper, blood begins to coat his tongue and the unfamiliar taste of iron rests upon his tongue. You hear his cry weakly and you quickly rush to his bedroom, heavy breaths leave your lips in your pursuit to find Karl before he bleeds out or chokes on his own blood. What an idiot ...
He's in seemingly worse shape than when you left, his lips are beginning to become tainted with his own blood, many small wounds were all over him but the most concerning was the one on his stomach. He's coughing and trying to take in oxygen, trying to taste something other than iron on his stomach and he turns to find you, standing there before him. Damn. He forces on a wide toothy grin when he meets your gaze, damn he could feel the tension and could see that dark haze in your eyes, full of disappointment and resentment. "So we f-fuckin' meet again, huh?" Karl coughs out as a short series of chuckles soon follow after, he's trying to keep what little pride he had intact. He couldn't be seen as weak after you broke him, you left him in pieces and chose to leave him because of some stupid sacrifices he had to make in pursuit of the happiness and freedom you deserved. "So we do, asshole ... let me guess, the plan that you were so persistent on working didn't fucking work ... what happened to never come back?" You growl at him, crossing your arms as bitterness seemingly runs through you, you could feel your heart thump in your chest and your hands curled into tight fists. " ... That doesn't m-matter right now. I just n-need your fucking help!" He snaps, his words strained and choked before a series of coughs soon leave his lips. You slowly take in a breath, considering whether to just hand him the medkit and fucking peace out but you know the asshole lacks medical knowledge and would die. You let a deep sigh leave your lips before you kneel beside him, putting one of his arms around your shoulders, and with a loud groan of pain, you set him down on the bed, lying him down on his back and making sure he was comfortable. "I'll only be able to take care of this and stop you from bleeding out. You'll have to be still, Karl otherwise I'll fuck up." You advise him, getting up to go wash your hands and make sure that you don't get him infected whilst you're at it, you come back into his bedroom and open the medkit and begin to get to work on the wound. Karl would've never thought or had the pride to call up his ex, the one person he told himself he'd never need again is forced to put his pride on the side and is forced to let his ex attend to his wounds. All he can do is frown deeply, turning away from you to stare out the window, and all he can think is that Ethan Winters is still out there. He's gonna kill Miranda. That was his job, that was something he spent his life working towards doing, getting rid of that bitch Miranda and stealing her precious power. He's forced out of his thoughts when you begin to rub alcohol onto the wound causing a sharp stinging sensation to shoot through him, he grits his teeth at the stinging and almost burning sensation plaguing his body. "Warn me next time, will ya?" He says before a heavy cough soon follows, you sigh deeply as you continue to rub the alcohol on his wound gently, making sure it doesn't get infected and die from an infected wound.
"Warn you? ... It's just rubbing alcohol not a lighter." You respond, rolling your eyes at the man before you as you set down the towel and begin to pull out your thread and your needle. If he thought the alcohol was painful then he is truly in for a rude awakening. "This is gonna be painful, Karl ... I'll try to be quick with it." You state, somewhat warning him of the pain to come. "Please do ... I can't wait until you fucking leave ..." Karl bitterly spat, still unable to accept the fact that he needed you, that you were right, that he wanted you back into his life because, in his mind, it's better to bottle it up. "I won't treat you if you act like an ignorant dog." You spat back, your eyes meet his for a moment as an expression of anger twists onto your face, he begins to try and speak before a wince fell from his lips at the sensation of the thread going through his skin, he slams his fist down onto the bed and hisses at the pain once more. "Says you, you literally came in here pissed. Maybe just shut up and do ... ah!" He begins to say, his words are filled with anger and irritation before another sharp sensation of pain shoots through him. "Look, my bad alright but it's not every day you want to see your ex who was willing to ..." You begin to retort back at him, giving him a mean glare before he barks back. "You have to make sacrifices for everything! ... Now Ethan is going to get his daughter, probably gonna murder Miranda when I deserved the right to kill her. To watch the bitch suffer and choke on her own fucking blood." He growls, bitterness comes to him like air and he lets out a huff through his nostrils, a bitter and sour expression twists onto his face as he thinks of the fact that Ethan nearly murdered him, he thinks to the fact Ethan is going to steal what he worked so hard to get. "Whether you kill her or he does, she'd still be dead. ... You need to just ... let go of it and be grateful he let you live ... besides can't you finally be free out of that woman's grasp?" You say, less bitterness in your voice than before as another painful wince slips from his parted lips, he sucks in a breath through his teeth and lets out a heavy ragged breath. "That's if that fool can kill her. That's why I needed Rose. I needed her power to help me kill her. I needed it." He growls, slamming his fist against the wall in frustration.
"Did you ...? If Ethan nearly killed you then you severely underestimated how powerful he is ... probably can rival Miranda's power or maybe it's ... it's because he loves his daughter so much, it drives him to keep going." You say, your once bitter expression faded into something more dreary as you are reminded of your past, you would've done anything for that child. He scoffs to himself, turning away from you as you stop stitching him up as a truly bitter and painful expression twists onto your beautiful face. You force his face towards your own and gaze deeply into his eyes, you want him to feel, to see the pain that you felt and he did feel it. "You act like it's so terrible to be human ... it's so terrible to fall victim to your emotions ... that man loves his child just like how you loved me. He would've sacrificed anything for that child, he was willing to try and kill you, he was willing to kill Lady Dimitrescu, he was willing to do it all. That's what being human is. That's what's strong, so fucking strong." You exclaim, slowly inhaling a breath into your nostrils as silence quickly fills the air between you both, you can see the realization in his eyes flicker before him and how he softens in a way. Licking your lips, you push him back and hide that urge that was a habit you had, leaning to kiss him whenever your eyes met his whenever you saw how he softened before you. You missed that so much. You didn't say anything more, you go back to stitching up his stomach wound with an unreadable expression on your face, it was a mixture of pain and frustration and Karl saw it but most of all he saw your pain. It reminded him of his own. He would do anything for you. If you wanted him he would take you back in a heartbeat and he was afraid to admit that. Afraid to admit that he was still weak to you, still weak under your human ways that he used to relish in with you and he was afraid of being open, being hurt, being vulnerable, and falling victim to you in case you left him again. In a way you were weak to him too, stubborn as well but more willing to open up to him, to be vulnerable in front of him, willing to take the bait if it meant you would get hurt again. You were almost numb. To it. The pain that he had caused you but it was still there, stinging you at whatever moment it got and you let it become what you see Karl as. Another reminder of your pain, another man willing to sacrifice whatever for a taste of freedom and revenge. But despite that you loved him.
"I apologize for acting like a bitch when I came in here. I just ... I never thought you'd call or need me ever again and I didn't think I needed you either." You say in a somewhat soft breath, you meet his eyes for a few moments before turning your attention back to his wound and he turns towards you, licking his lips before he runs his finger over his bottom lip. "Thank you." He says smartly with a prideful smile soon curling onto his lips before you roll your eyes at him, you bite your tongue to stop any laughter from coming out. "Come on, you have manners don't you Karl? You acted like a bit of a dick too. Or is it too low of Mr. Karl Heisenberg to apologize?" You tease, a natural warm smile curls onto your lips for a few moments, Karl's heart feels light once more and it pulsates in his chest at the once familiar sight he used to see all the time, he missed that smile. Chuckling, he looks down and can feel the bitter irony taste on his tongue begin to fade away slowly but surely it is. "I apologize for acting like a dick earlier. There. That make you happy?" He says, rolling his eyes to himself before you nod with a chuckle soon falling from your lips, your hair had changed, your fashion sense had as well but you were still the same with that warm smile that made him nearly have a heart attack. "Alright, I should be done in a moment ... I'll clean your wound once again and make sure it doesn't get infected ..." You say once more, your tone has returned to its initial seriousness and he sighs to himself, just when he thought you were letting the mask fall, just when he thought things might be going back to normal. "It's fine, do what you have to do ..." He responds, waving his hand in a motion to allow you to keep doing what you were doing. You continued for a few moments longer, trying to stay focused on stitching his wound up but suddenly thoughts starting appearing in your head, what if things could go back to normal? What if you can be free together now? What if you can share happiness with him? Maybe you were an optimistic fool but having hope that things might change between you two is something that you happily looked forward to.
"Alright, I'm done. You shouldn't bleed out and die and ... I'd say try not to fuck up your stitches. But I should be going if I am not of any help to you anymore, Karl ..." You say lowly, reaching out to seize your medkit before he suddenly grabs your wrist, just like the last time you saw him causing you to nearly jump at the sudden grasp on your wrist. He realizes what he's doing from your somewhat distressed expression and lets go of your wrist quickly. "I'm sorry for ... that. But ... I'll probably need more medicine or more care to make sure I don't fuck up my stitches." He rambles, allowing himself to be vulnerable for just another moment, licking his lips his eyes meet yours once again and you see that familiar desperation in his eyes. But this time, you thought what if you stayed and so you set your medkit back down and let a deep breath leave your lips, you somewhat missed the familiar sound of his factory working and working tirelessly. "I hope you aren't planning on stopping Ethan. I'm sorry but it's just fucking stupid ... let him take care of Miranda and let him have Rose then you have what you want. Freedom. Happiness." You exclaim, sitting on the opposite end of the bed beside him with legs resting on the mattress. "I ... I want to. ... Miranda has caused so much pain, so much agony to me ... she doesn't see me as her son, nor will I ever see her as a mother. She's just ... she's just a crazy bitch who decided to steal a fucking baby and hope it could be a vessel for her fucking precious little Eva." He growls bitterly, a sour expression twists onto his face as he crosses his arms, still bitter to the core and revenge is still tainting his mind, no thought of freedom or happiness crossed his mind. Just Miranda. "I know. All she cares about is finding a body for Eva ... but you could finally be happy away from that crazy ass woman. Besides ... this plan has already been a huge failure." You exclaim in a gentle sigh, licking your lips before taking in a breath and so many memories flood back to your brain whenever you stare at something. Even this bed has so many memories.
"I ... I haven't failed. Besides blame Ethan for ruining an otherwise amazing plan. So much for working together." He spat, rolling his eyes at the thought that he was possibly bested by a mere human makes his blood boil. "This plan has nearly cost you your life and cost you a chance at even getting a sliver of freedom." You explain, another sigh leaves your lips as you stare down at the mattress beneath you, silence fills the room once more because Karl's pride won't allow him to see that maybe he had failed in his plan. "You even lost me ..." You muttered lowly almost in a whisper but Karl heard it and his expression twisted from bitter to disheartened and remorseful. "Look, I get that I hurt you and I hate it. But I needed to do it ... I needed to try and get rid of her! Get some kinda control over my own fucking life! I am done with being another experiment for her to use for her wishes! I ... I just want to be free ..." He exclaims, all manner of emotion is pouring out of him and seeping through his mask of charm, taking in a slow shaky breath as his throat tightens and memories flicker of his family, his real family. His mother, her warm smile that is reminiscent of yours, her warm comfy hugs and just remembering it had tears traveling down his cheeks as he clenched his jaw firmly. Your expression softened at the sight before you, a saddened and pitiful frown curls onto your lips as you can sense his pain, he really lost his life to being Miranda's experiment, to being her slave. A soft breath leaves your lips and you rest your hand upon his shoulder, expressing comfort as he inhales another shaky breath, pain is what became of him and he tried to fix himself only to become more broken.
"Karl, listen to me ... you're allowed to be happy ... you're allowed to smile, allowed to be angry, you're allowed to be happy." You coo, your words are gentle but powerful and your eyes are sincere, warm, and delicate to his eyes. He turns to you, eyes slightly puffy and an expression of pain is twisted on his face, letting a gentle breath when he looks at you, when he gazes into your eyes for a few moments, he's reminded of happiness, he's reminded of warmth, he's reminded of love and family. He still loves you. His eyebrows furrow before he wraps his arms around you, clinging to you desperately as he buries his face into you, still pain torments him when he can and it destroys his life. It destroyed his relationship with you, it destroyed everything around him and it almost destroyed him, he would've sacrificed everything just for freedom, just to have his life be his own. He sees it now, it comes to him painfully raw and honest and he almost hates it because of how he hurt you, the one damn good thing in his shitty miserable life. "I hurt you. I fucking hurt you and you came back for me? I ... I don't fuckin' deserve you ... at all ..." He exclaims, his words muffled into the fabric of your clothes as he can feel your arms wrap around him, your hands gently massage him and the simple gesture puts him at peace and ease. "I came back because as much as you hurt me ... you don't deserve this, Karl ... despite how I left you, I still care so much about you. Hell, when it's you I listen to my heart rather than my fucking brain. With you, it's different ... with you, I could never forget you. At all." You confessed with a soft sigh leaving your lips at the end of your words, your hands move to his long untamed grey and brown locks, you gently run your fingers through his locks and you nearly chuckle at the unique texture of his hair. "I didn't either, butterfly ... I hurt you and I see how I fucking hurt you, hell I didn't care if you left me I was still going to continue to plan despite how it hurt you. I'm an asshat. I wouldn't want to remember me if I did that." He exclaims, a gentle smile curls onto his lips as he stares up at you with a familiar smile that warms your heart, it leaves it jumping in your chest and leaves your stomach with butterflies.
"It's good that you see that and I hate that hurt you too ... I know that I left feeling so bad, so bitter about this whole fucking plan ... but this plan the only good thing it brought to you was bringing me to find your nearly dead ass." You chuckle, a wide smile curls onto your lips as a peaceful and joyful expression is plastered onto your face, another chuckle leaves your lips as a warm familiar smile remains on your lips. He can't stop himself from smiling as well, savoring these moments you share of nothing but pure joy, and he can't help but cup both sides of your cheeks. His fingers gently caress your cheeks, his smile warms your heart and your soul and the familiar sensation of his hands against your cheeks made you melt before him. Silence fills the room as he admires you, your beautiful features, and everything along with it. "Out of everyone in the world, I could never hate you ..." He chuckles almost like a giggly child at a toy store, a wide smile remains plastered on his face and his soul is singing, calling out for you and his heart thrashes wildly in his ribcage. You let out a gentle breath and suddenly his lips are pressed gently against yours, your stomach is crowed and flooded with butterflies, your heart is pulsating in your chest, and everything is calling out to Karl. Moments after, he pulls away from your lips with a somewhat worried expression on his face, he questions was he moving too fast, did you not want him but his thoughts are put to stop when your lips collide passionately against his. It came to you so naturally and once the thought appeared in your head, your heart followed along with it along with your body, and here you were passionately kissing the man who you hadn't seen in over 6 months. He groans against your lips, savoring and relishing the familiar sensations that came as his eyes flutter close, he was such a fool, such a fool to not see that he was risking the only thing that mattered for a chance at even getting freedom. He was but a child ...
Groaning against his lips as you began to clutch a fistful of his hair, the kiss quickly grew deeper and more heated, heavy breaths left both your lips as you gently devoured each other's lips, greedy for the sensations it brought you both. Groaning into your mouth once more, Karl's hands slip your jacket off of you, he throws it to the floor and buries his lips into your neck, kissing and sucking lightly at the sensitive skin earning a soft gasp from your lips at the sharp sensation. "Karl ..." You say in a ragged breath, hands still entangled in his locks of hair as he continues to kiss and suck on your neck, your body begins to heat up with arousal and your body begins to ache for Karl. "Damn ... I just can't get enough of you, can I?" He chuckles, grinning devilishly at you as his eyes glance at your lips once again, he pulls you into another heated kiss that has his tongue prying your lips apart. His tongue enters your mouth, his tongue grinds against yours and your tongues begin to dance erotically together causing both of you to moan against each other's lips at the tingling sensations that spread across your tongues. Karl's arousal begins to show with the bulge that swells in his pants, he continues to kisses you, moaning and groaning at the overdue sensation of a warm body against his. Pulling away from your lips, heavy ragged breaths leave both of your lips and he can't help but notice your flushed cheeks as a breathless expression remains on your face. "Do you want this ...? Do you want me, (Y/N) ...?" He asks in a ragged breath, his hand cups one of your cheeks, as he gazes intensely into your eyes, lust, and desire, clouded those beautiful eyes of yours and it was one of his favorite expressions on your face. "I want you so much ... I want nothing but you and your naked body to be mine ..." You answer, smirking devilishly at the man before you as a low chuckle soon leaves your lips, grinning widely at you he kisses your lips once again, cherishing the smooth and delicate feeling of your lips.
"Mmh, your lips feel amazing, darling ... I missed all of this, the kisses, the touches, the way you worship me ... I missed it all so much." He purrs lustfully as a chuckle soon follows after, taking in a breath he pushes you onto your back earning a gasp from you before he gets in between your legs. He stares at the tank top you wore, it hugged your body perfectly, and hell it exposed a lot of skin, though it was basic it was enough for him. You'll always be enough for him and more. "Arms up, darling ..." He chirps, you raise your arms, and off comes your tank top and your torso was immediately met with multiple kisses and bright hickeys that decorated your skin. Wrapping your arms around his chest, he takes one of your nipples into his mouth, he lightly sucks on one as his other hand explores your torso, caressing your skin gently and with care. Your heart is thrashing, pounding in your ribcage, and heat floods through your being, arousal comes with that and it leaves you aching so terribly with a need for sweet release. Heavy ragged breaths leave your lips, licking your lips as you can only think of Karl, what he was going to do to you, what you were going to do to him. He takes your nipple out of his mouth, trailing kisses down your stomach as he gets lower and lower until he reaches your bothersome pants, letting out a growl he harshly pulls your pants down and throws them somewhere before he immediately buries his face into your crotch. His tongue moves gently, caressing all your sweet spots as the heat begins to boil up deep inside of you, you relished and savored the moist heat that caressed you in such amazing ways. Moaning against you, his hands wrap around your thighs to keep you from moving too much but he thought it was all about making you feel better, tonight was all about what you wanted, whatever you wanted you will have it. "Oh, Karl ...! Hah ... shit ... shit ..." You moan shamelessly, your hands clutch and grasp at his long locks of hair as heavy breaths are pried from your lips along with whispers of his name falling from those beautiful lips of yours. "Enjoying it, darling ... am I being good for you? Am I a good boy? Tell me I'm a good boy, kitten ..." He purrs erotically, his words roll gracefully off his tongue before he buries his tongue back into you, kissing, licking, and sucking on all of your sweet spots. "Good boy ...! Oh, so good ... fuck I missed your mouth so much ..." You whine needily, clutching at the sheets beneath you as you lick your lips, waves, and waves of heated ecstasy washes over you in sharp and powerful waves.
"That's it ...! Fuck, don't stop ... don't stop fucking me with that tongue of yours ...!" You cry out in a series of moans that are soon followed by ragged breaths, you grind your hips against his mouth eager and aching for some form of release, eager for more of the ecstasy he gives you. But he suddenly stops as he can barely hold himself back from taking you right here and right now, he begins to unzip his pants and fights to get them off. An annoyed expression twists onto your face as you roll your eyes and get up from the bed, grabbing him by his shoulders and turning him around towards the bed as you push him onto the bed with a devilish grin. "It's my turn, love ..." You chuckle as you begin to straddle his lap with your arms pressed into his chest and you begin to take him inside of you as a heavy breathless moan of his name leaves your lips the moment his thick cock fills you. It throbs and twitches inside of you, making you nearly jump at the sensation before you take all of his thick throbbing cock inside of you, the way he fills you is like no other, his cock stretches you and fills you perfectly. The way your walls clung and hugged his thick throbbing cock drove him insane, a heavy groan left his lips at the tight heat that surrounded and embraced his throbbing cock. "Oh, fucking hell ...! Shit ... so damn tight and ... hot ... come on, darling ride me nice and hard. Leave me at your mercy ..." He purrs devilishly as a long chuckle soon follows after, lust clouds his remarkable green eyes, his hands reach up to cup your flushed cheeks as a warm joyful smile curls onto his lips. You smile back at him, joy washing over you like a breeze as you rested your hands upon his shoulders and began to chase eagerly and joyfully after your sweet and euphoric release. Your hips grind and roll against his lap, heavy breaths are pried from your lips as heat begins to build and rise through your body, Karl's heavy ragged breaths can be heard along with yours as he wraps his arms around your neck. A low "fuck" leaves his parted lips as his eyelashes weigh heavy on top of his shut eyelids, sharp electric sensations of bliss shot through him every time your hips went lower. Burying his teeth into his bottom lip, a heavy groan leaves his lips at the blissful heat that envelopes his throbbing eager cock, all he can do is stare in awe at your expressions of bliss and ecstasy. It's so amazing.
"Mmh, baby ... you're so goddamn beautiful ... so exquisite. Come on, tell me how much you love me ... show me how much you've missed me ..." He purrs with a devilish smile on his lips, biting his lips soon afterward he places his hands on your hips gently moving them back and forth just to speed things up a bit. Your cheeks quickly become flushed at his words as you lightly squeeze onto his shoulders, heavy breaths still leaving your parted lips as you begin to throw your hips up and down onto his thick throbbing cock. It presses and drives into you eagerly, lightly hitting your sweet spot causing whines of Karl's name to be pried from your lips, licking your lips you entangle Karl into another heated passionate kiss that is so full of tenderness and consideration. "Karl ...! F-fuck ...!" You whine needily as you pull away from his lips, your eyes flutter at the bliss that courses through you as the heat floods through you. Your teeth grind against your bottom lip gently before you begin to slam your hips down onto his throbbing cock that perfectly curled onto your sweet spot as it repeatedly hits that sweet spot making his name fall from your lips again and again. "Oh! Karl ...! Mmh, Karl ...! It's so fuckin good, Karl ...!" You moan breathlessly, throwing your head back at the ecstasy that washes over you in burning relentless waves, skin hitting against skin echoed through his bedroom as your moans and heavy breaths are Karl's melody. Groaning deeply, his hands move lower onto your ass cheeks, wrapping his fingers around the area he lightly squeezes them with a chuckle following after, it's not a minute before he's nearly arching his back and a long whine is pried from his throat. "Fucking hell, sweetheart ...! Ooh, hah ...!" He whines deeply as waves and waves of ecstasy washed over him, he couldn't be happier and everything in his being felt like it could cry of joy. "Karl ... I'm gonna ... oh fuck ... fuck ... gonna c-cum!" You manage to say, heavy breaths fill your throat and your heart thrashes and pounds erratically in your chest, thighs tremble and shake against his legs, and your entire body throbs and aches. "Kiss me, oh please kiss me ... tell me how much you love me ..." Karl rambles in a series of heavy breaths as he wraps his arms around your torso, leaning in for another heated kiss as you continue to slam your hips down as hard as you can moaning shamelessly against his lips. Your entire body trembles and pulsates erratically as you had boiled over, heat travels through you along with sweet sweet ecstasy that left you nearly screaming his name against his lips. Pulling away from his lips as heavy ragged breaths leave your lips, you gaze intensely, it's not moments before your name falls breathlessly from his parted lips and his expression of joy quickly fades into one of ecstasy and relief. Sharp powerful sensations of ecstasy shot through him relentlessly as began to cling to you, wrapping his arms around you clinging to you and to what for a second feels so much like a damn dream.
Wrapping your arms around him, you find serenity in his cool embrace and you find serenity in the idea that things are gonna be okay, that things are gonna change from today to hopefully years from now. You smile into his embrace before pulling out of his embrace, moments later as you gaze into each other's eyes once more, passion and warmth clouded his green eyes. That look in his eyes like he was just so ... happy and like you're the one thing that matters in his erratic and wild world. "So ... Karl, what's next for us? ... After Miranda is dead and all that bullshit ...?" You question with a curious smile resting upon your lips, you rest in his embrace and he can't help but chuckle at your words. "Whatever it is that is next for you ... whether it's fucking staying here or leaving for better places ... you go and I'll follow." He answers warmly and confidently as a chuckle soon follows after his words. "Oh, so I made you my loyal dog, have I?" You chuckle, beaming at the man before you as he can't help but chuckle once more at your words. "In a way, yes you have ... made me weak for you ... made me unafraid to be myself around you. ... You are incredibly special to me, butterfly ..." He says in a gentle breath, smiling warmly at you as you can't help but flush different shades of red at his words. "You're even more special ... I love you more than you will ever know Karl ... and I've loved you all this time ... I hope I will never stop loving you. That no matter how bad things get that we will get through it together." You exclaim in pure joy as you both end up smiling sheepishly at each other before you rest your head in the nape of his neck and he wraps his arms around, hoping for a more optimistic and brighter future than he could've ever imagined.

Second Lead Syndrome
Tumblr media
Word Count: ~8.7k words
liked this? there’s more on my masterlist!
Genre: Angst, Fluff, Comedy, Female reader insert
Description: Y/n and Minho have been friends for more than 2 years now, but suddenly she begins to see herself as the mere second lead in Minho’s story. Will she be the rare second lead who gets her own happy ending?
Warnings: some crying, themes of unrequited love (if there’s anything that I missed don’t hesitated to let me know!)
Tumblr media
I’d only ever encountered Second Lead Syndrome in the dramas I’d watched. Wanting the girl to end up with the second lead who was so obviously the better and healthier choice, but like every avid watcher of kdramas, it's more than likely for the main leads to end up with each other, that was just how it worked. What I never thought I’d encounter was seeing it happen before my own eyes and experience it firsthand.
Tumblr media
Life was never supposed to be a kdrama. Life was supposed to be simple, a straight line, going from point A to B with no complications. But life never really went my way did it? It just had to throw in one variable, one man that had too much influence on my life.
I couldn’t remember the first time I met Minho. It was probably sometime in the first grade when his family first moved in next to mine. But alas, we were both too young to remember exactly what sparked our friendship. One day we were strangers and the next we had given our parents a near heart attack when we both went after a stray cat on the way back home (my mom’s words, not ours).  From then my memories were filled with him, just us besties hanging out like anyone would with their best friend. First party, first mental breakdown, first drink, all with him. Soon enough we were in our final year of University, and ultimately, adults.
The Minho I knew was laid back, not too extroverted but not too introverted either. While I completely contrasted him, always anxious about something, wanting perfection to the T, and completely and utterly introverted.  Our friendship, moving into University, sparked a lot of questions. You wouldn’t typically find the introverted straight-A student with the borderline badboy tsundere walking and laughing in the halls together, spending practically every waking moment together. But Minho didn’t care, and neither did I, so we moved through life pretty easily.
One of the few things we had in common was our love for cats, and when we both foudn out there was a cat cafe just a few minutes walk from our campus, you best bet we spent too much of our time and money there. Studying, hanging out, anything you could imagine. If we weren’t in one of our dorms, we were more than likely to be in the cat cafe.
Every day after class we’d go there and we’d complain about our least favorite professors and how lectures would seemingly last for longer than they should. Additionally, Minho had almost become akin to my own dormmate with how much time he spent in my dorm. He’d come in whenever he wished, stealing my frozen pizzas and sodas, using my Netflix account on my TV to watch weird National Geographic shows and make random comments like “that snake looks just like Kim Seungmin,” or “look its Hannie” whenever a squirrel came on screen. Minho was always there when I needed a drinking partner after bombing a test or assignment, pouring me shots of soju until I passed out and bringing me to my bed and tucking me in whiel he would sleep on the couch to make sure I wouldn’t do anything stupid in the middle of the night.
Although, more people knew Minho’s name than mine, but that didn’t bother any of us. We continued on being friends as usual, and it felt like nothing would change that. Life was moving in a straight line like it should’ve always been.
At least, that’s what it felt like until February, just a few months before we graduated.
Tumblr media
I make my way to our usual spot in the courtyard after buying an iced coffee and a snickers bar from the vending machine next to my classroom, I walk up behind Minho sitting on a bench when I find him staring out in front of him instead of looking at cat videos on his phone like he usually does. Slowing my walk, I trail my eyes to the vague direction he’s facing and see that he’s looking at Kim Seungmin and a girl chatting outside the classroom. I ignore the thought, opting to think that Minho must’ve spaced out thinking about how he would irritate Seungmin next class. I plop down next to him when he still doesn’t take note of my arrival, so I get right next to his ear and blow cold air into it, snickering when he jolts in surprise.
“What was that for?” He whines, fake annoyed.
“You got lost up in your thoughts for a certain Kim Seungmin there.” I snicker some more, opening my snickers (hehe) bar.
Just as I’m about to take the first bite of the sugary goodness, the chocolate bar gets snatched out of my hands and a certain Lee Minho takes an obnoxious bite out of it, not even giving it back but eating it like it was his. I pout, watching him devour my snack, knowing that I couldn’t do anything to get it back.
“For your information, I was not thinking about Kim Seungmin.” He says pointedly, slightly muffled by the chocolate in his mouth.
I sigh, knowing I wasn’t going to get that chocolate bar back any time soon, and open my iced coffee. “So what were you thinking about then?” I ask before taking a sip.
“Don’t know, spaced out.” Is all the answer I get and I highly doubt him, but I brush it off anyways and don’t pry.
Minho and I slide into our usual conversation about assignments, plans for the week, and everything under the sun. We talk about how he’s planning to visit home the next day and stay for a weekend and how excited he is to see his cats after a long time, I unknowingly smile at his ramble about how talkative Dori is, and just sit back and listen. I never took into account how healing it was to just watch and listen to him talk, the sultry of his voice and his little exclamations of frustration or excitement that came once in a while. I had to catch myself from staring when he turned to look at me, having asked me a question I didn’t catch.
“Sorry what was that?” I ask.
“Am I that beautiful for you to have lost your hearing to my handsome face?” I couldn’t just tell him that that was basically what had happened, it would inflate his ego by too much and reveal everything I’d hidden thus far.
“The heck? No, I was thinking about how great it would be to get some peace and quiet while you’re not around this weekend.” I lie, having Minho around is the only thing that brings me entertainment that isn’t endless sappy kdramas on my laptop, but he can never know that.
Minho scoffs, says something under his breath that I don’t quite catch, then turns back to me. “You love me.” He says with a pout.
“Unfortunately I do.”
That was the first of many inconspicuous confessions.
Tumblr media
It was nearing 3 or 4 am and I was about halfway done with another kdrama when several knocks resound through the small living space. Knowing exactly who it is, I only shout back “you know the code!” and moments later the door opens.
I don’t bother to get up and greet Minho, this exact scene has happened too many times for either of us to care at this point, and it doesn’t surprise me that the moment he enters he shouts, “Honey I’m home!” like we’re in some cheesy romcom.
“Mhmm, welcome home, leech.” I enunciate the last word purposely, but I know he won’t bat an eye at the term. I continue to chew my popcorn while he wanders through my cabinets, looking for snacks. “There’s chips in the cabinet next to the fridge and sprite in there too. If you want more food order Chinese takeout.”
“I don’t have my wallet.” I can practically hear his pout from where I sat, eyes unmoving from the TV screen.
“You know where mine is, but you have to pay me back.” A few seconds pass with no response until suddenly he’s next to me and kissing my cheek.
“I loveeee you!” He says too sweetly, retreating back to the mini-kitchen to order takeout.
“Mhmm, I love you too.” I say, not loud enough for him to hear the confidence missing from my tone.
Continuing to watch the episode of in front of me, I remain in my comfortable position, only moving to lift my legs when Minho comes back to sit on the couch under my legs and the blanket.
“Oh you’re watching this one?” He asks, reaching into the bowl of popcorn I offer him.
“Yeah, didn’t have anything else to watch so I put it on since everyone seems to like it so much.”
“Mm,” he hums while also indulging himself into the scenes playing in front of him. “You’re probably team potato guy, right?”
“What kind of question is that? Of course I am!” I scoff.
“I don’t know, I still think she should end up with Jae-eon.”
“Are you crazy? He literally leads her on like every playboy and is ruining her mentality by not defining their relationship.”
“Yeah, but they’re so cute together, and you can totally tell he feels something for her.” He argues.
“Just cause they’re cute together doesn’t mean they’re good for each other, the entire guy is a walking red flag, I don’t understand why she doesn’t just walk away when she’s had experience with a shit boyfriend.” I sigh.
“You, have major second lead syndrome.” He points an accusing finger at me.
“So what? It’s for good reason, the main lead is toxic as fuck and you can’t change my mind.” I upturn my nose, turning back to the TV and continuing to watch the episode.
The mentioning of the second lead sends a flurry of thoughts into my brain for a reason I can’t comprehend. Sometimes the main leads aren’t that bad but still we want the main character to end up with the second lead, maybe out of our own natural selfishness because we prefer the second lead more. I shake the thoughts away, trying to convince myself that kdramas were only works of fiction and too cheesy to be real, yet for whatever reason I always felt a connection with the second leads, like our emotions directed to our crushes were the same, because I knew that I would always be the second lead in Minho’s story.
Minho’s name was always called out more times than mine was growing up, which I didn’t really mind until our hangout time would be seriously cut down because he had to hang out with other friends. Don’t get me wrong, I loved that he had friends, but there was a little bit of selfishness in me that wanted him to myself.
A new drama and a few episodes later, plus Chinese takeout, lead to our eventual demise. We both fall asleep on the couch in less than comfortable positions and wake up with stiff-neck, us groaning at the pain.
We continue on with our usual morning routines, taking turns freshening up in the bathroom before heading out for breakfast at Paws and Pastries since we were both too lazy to make food ourselves. Besides, hot coffee in the morning plus good sandwiches AND cats? What more could you ask for?
When we enter the cat cafe I notice a familiar face behind the cashier, it was the same girl Seungmin was talking to on Friday, and the same girl I caught Minho staring at. We walk up to the cashier, I order my food first, a simple breakfast sandwich with a coffee to go with it and wait next to Minho to finish ordering.
I made the mistake up glancing up at his face as he was telling his order to her, Ahra, her name tag read. There was something in his eyes that glinted that I had never seen before, not when he talked to Han and not when he talked to me. I couldn’t help but feel a pang of emotion in the middle of my chest before forcing myself to look back down, inserting my card and paying for everything. I sent the girl a thank you and a kind smile after she told us our food would be right over, and both me and Minho went over to our usual table in the back corner next to the cat’s jungle gym and right up next to the window. I get lost in my thoughts while we begin playing with the cats we were so accustomed to.
Like most second leads, I knew exactly what my feelings were. I was practically an adult, how could I miss the fast beating of my heart or my clammy hands whenever I was around him? But again, like most second leads, I knew I’d never get a chance with him, not when everything we did together was purely platonic. It was painfully obvious that I’d be stuck with an unrequited love for who knows how long, and I couldn’t just detach myself from him all of a sudden to get over my feelings because a) he’d notice and force me to tell him what was wrong, ultimately leading me to tell him that I had feelings for him, and b) the moment I would come back or see him for even just a second I know I would develop those feelings all over again. Neither of which were choices I was willing to take so I suck it up and see him every day, ignoring everything my heart was telling me.
I look up from the cat that I’m petting in my lap and look at Minho again, only to find him staring at Ahra who was taking people’s orders with a perfect pearly smile. It was in that moment that I knew, I had just found the female lead of Minho’s story.

3 weeks go by in a similar manner. Minho and I see Ahra around campus a few times and with some twisted fate, she’s on the clock every time we go to Paws and Pastries. Minho, being his smooth self, easily gets himself acquainted with her. They laugh and giggle so naturally and can slip into conversation so easily I’m almost envious of Minho and his non-introverted self.
Not being one to try and stop fate, I watch it all happen. Telling Minho to ask her out already and teasing him about how lovesick he gets when he sees her nearby or at the cafe. I know Minho likes her when he blushes or gets defensive whenever I mention her in our conversations even though he’s never explicitly told me himself. I put on a face in front of him whenever these conversations come up, not wanting to get in the way of his happiness.
One day some of our friends want to meet up outside of campus, we make plans to meet up at a bowling alley, ready to have fun until the late evening hours. Seungmin brought Ahra along with him, asking if it was okay to invite her since they were friends. Everyone agrees and we all meet up as planned. When everyone gets there, including Seungmin and Ahra, we introduce ourselves, Minho not having to introduce himself and easily speaking with her like they always did whenever running into each other. All the the boys have raised brows and mischievous smiles as they watch the interaction between the two, but only one looks at me in concern.
A majority of the night passes by with laughter and teasing, how Chan was terrible at bowling this night and Minho easily beating him despite never doing too well on our previous adventures to the bowling alley. I spend the night with the rest of the boys, while Minho and Ahra spend time getting to know each other even more. There’s a point in the evening where I see Minho hold out his phone to Ahra to exchange numbers, I can hear her giggle when they take a selfie together, probably for her profile picture. I have to turn my head away quickly to ignore the cracking of my own heart when Minho puts his arm on the couch behind Ahra, he does it so naturally, yet he’s never done it with me. I will my thoughts to focus on the game and not on Minho, not noticing the same pair of concerned eyes until they speak up.
“Are you alright?” Hyunjin asks.
“Hm? Of course I am, why wouldn’t I be?” My voice cracks halfway through and I try to hide my sad eyes, even though I was fully aware that Hyunjin had probably noticed that something was up.
“‘Cause you seem pretty affected by that scene over there.” He motions to Minho and Ahra with a nod of his head.
“It’s nothing, Hyun, just nice seeing Minho talking to more people.”
“Y/n, you know he talks to people all the time, and you’re not nearly as affected then as you are now.”
“Hyunjin, really, it’s fine.” I try to convince him but he says something that lets me know that he knows.
“You like Minho.”
“What? No that’s absurd I-“ He looks at me pointedly, and I sigh in defeat. “Yeah, okay, you got me.”
“Why don’t you say anything? Clearly it hurts you to see him like that.” He refers to Minho getting cozy with her.
“Hyunjin, it’s clear that everything we have is platonic, he even called me his sister several times. And who am I to get in the way of him getting into a relationship? That’s not my place to say anything, especially when his last girlfriend was 2 years ago.”
“I get that, but shouldn’t he at least deserve to know? He says that he knows everything about you, but there’s one thing that he doesn't. You know practically everything about him, isn’t it a little unfair?”
“We have choices as to what we share with each other and what we don’t, it’s his choice to tell me what he wants to and my choice to tell him what I want to tell him. Besides, he hasn’t even told me that he has a crush on Ahra yet.”
“So maybe he doesn’t then.”
“Hyunjin, just look at him, he’s a puppy in love.” I glance back over to Minho and Ahra sitting parallel to us. Minho is smiling brightly, more brightly than I had seen in a while and I can’t help but let my lips upturn at the corners just slightly in another sad smile.
Hyunjin sighs next to me, and I look back to him. “I’m sorry y/n, I really wish he would end up with you instead of her, it doesn’t seem fair to you.”
“Hey, don’t say that, Ahra seems like a nice girl, she and Minho will get along great. And nothing in life is fair Hyunjin, that’s just something you come to accept.” I say, getting up. “I’m gonna get some drinks, does anyone want anything?” I ask everyone.
“Cola!” “Me too!” “Me three!” “A lemonade please.” A few of the boys shout back.
“Anything for you guys?” I turn to Minho and Ahra. They both shake their heads. “Okay then, I’ll be back in a minute guys.” I smile at the group before going to get the drinks.
While walking away from the group I let a teardrop fall from my eye, wiping it away just before I order.
Life’s unfair, that’s just something I have to accept.
Tumblr media
A week goes by and Minho’s talking about how he and Ahra message often, how he thinks they get along well and he’s gonna ask her out.
Another week goes by and they’ve gone on their first date, he takes her to the beach and they have a picnic.
Two weeks after that they’ve gone on several dates and are officially boyfriend and girlfriend, I don’t even find out separately at this point, I find out with the rest of the group over dinner.
A few days after that Minho calls off one of our late night binge watching sessions, texting me an apology and that Ahra needs him. I tell him it’s okay and to send my regards to her.
It’s a week and half after and Minho regularly calls off our meetups at the cafe after school or at one another’s dorms to tend to Ahra. I tell him it’s fine each time and to not feel bad. He did the same today, and I sit alone at our usual table, mindlessly petting a cat in my lap while zoning out into in my mug of coffee.
All while this happens, I watch, and I let it happen. I don’t fight for him because it didn’t feel right, sometimes second leads let their love fall for someone else, and that’s all it felt like I could do.
Fighting for Minho felt selfish, especially when I knew I had no chance and he’d already fallen for Ahra. I couldn’t suddenly come out of the blue and tell him “hey, I have feelings for you,” when he’s already dating Ahra, I’d look like a major asshole if I did. All I could do was watch and see how we begun to drift farther and farther apart.
With Minho being absent more often, I don’t get to tell him much. Like the internship offer I got to continue pursuing graphic design in Itaewon. I got the email almost a week ago, and I had two more weeks to decide if I was going to take the offer. With nobody to consult about it with I continue to push it to the back of my mind, not wanting to deal with more stress just yet.
Just as I’m taking another sip of my coffee a familiar head of long blonde hair enters the cafe. My head tilts to the side in confusion as he scans the room for someone when he meets eyes with me, he makes his way over and sits in the seat in front of me and doesn’t say anything.
“You’re rarely on this side of town, why are you here?” I ask Hyunjin first.
“I heard something from Ms. Kim in our art class and needed to know if it was true.” He says seriously.
“What…” I feel like I know what he’s going to say, but I ask anyways. “What did you hear?”
“That you were offered an internship in Itaewon.”
“Hyunjin I-“
“Is it really true? She said you had two more weeks to decide, how come you haven’t told anybody? Does Minho know? Are you gonna leave? What about-” He begins to spurt out question after question and it’s almost too much for me to handle.
“Hyunjin!” I raise my voice just slightly to get him to stop but I have to turn it down again when the volume of my voice makes a few of the other customers’ heads turn. “Calm down, yes it’s true, yes I have two more weeks to decide if I’m going or not, I didn’t know how I would tell any of you, no, Minho doesn’t know and I don’t plan on telling him.”
“Are you… Are you gonna take the offer?” He asks slowly.
I prop my elbows onto the table as the cat leaves my lap and my head drops into my hands as I sigh in exasperation. “I don’t know.” Tears are gathering in my eyes as I think about it.
“Y/n, have you thought about the offer at all?”
“Yes and no.” I don’t need to lift my head to sense Hyunjin’s confusion. “It’s hard to think about it when you’re watching your crush of 2 years date someone else while you’re also trying to finish up your senior year. But it’s also all I can think about when I’m alone, which I find myself a lot, thinking about having to find a place to live in Itaewon and transfer and mentally prepare to leave you all here, but if I don’t take it then it’ll be even harder to find an offer like this. It’s all I can think about and also something that I can’t bring myself to think about, Hyunjin.” I lift my head and my teary eyes meet his own.
“Y/n…” His voice breaks saying my name.
“I think I’m going to take it.” I pause. “Once I finish all of my final assignments the only thing I have left to really worry about is graduating and finding a job, and I don’t think I can take watching Minho and Ahra anymore Hyun, I don’t think I can stomach it. I’m happy for them, I truly am, but it’s also affecting me and I don’t think I should ignore that anymore. If I’m in Itaewon I have a job and I won’t have to worry about feelings anymore, two birds with one stone.”
I see the hesitancy in Hyunjin’s facial expressions before he speaks. “If that’s what you think you should do, then I’ll support you all the way. But shouldn’t you tell Minho about this?”
“I’m not, because if I do, Minho is gonna find some way to get me to stay and I’ll crumble and stay because he affects me the most.” Hyunjin merely nods in response. “Hyunjin, you are the only one that can know about this, okay? I can’t have everyone else know this, especially Minho, okay?”
Hesitation again, and then, “Okay.”
Tumblr media
Hyunjin keeps his promise, he keeps the secret of me leaving from everyone. Even as graduation inches closer and our group begins to talk more about job searching, what comes next, and similar topics, the two of us keep it a secret. Whenever they asked me what I was thinking of doing next I always just told them “oh probably looking for internships nearby,” and no more questions are asked.
Minho and Ahra were still very much in love, even more than before, if the growing absence of Minho’s presence was anything to go by. I barely saw Minho anymore, maybe catching him at the end of the hall every once in awhile, but he was always walking with Ahra so all I could say was “hello” and “goodbye.”
Each goodbye begun to hold more and more weight as the days passed. Even the short ones I would tell Minho after passing him in the halls. I couldn’t even conjure how I would tell everyone, maybe send a letter to each of their places? A text message? Tell them after the graduation ceremony just before I left for the train station? I thought about how I would say goodbye as I begun to pack up my dorm. Graduation was nearing, I had already turned in all of my final assignments, and all there was left was to pack. I would leave after the ceremony ended, sometime in the afternoon. I wouldn’t even get the chance to properly celebrate being graduates with my friends because I was leaving in the afternoon. I’d get situated in my new apartment in Itaewon and get accustomed to new life outside of Gimpo.
The thought of leaving panged my heart harshly, I had never left Gimpo permanently before. Sure, I had gone on trips to the US and Singapore and Seoul before, but I had never moved from Gimpo. I was born and raised in Gimpo, met Minho and all of our friends here, so the thought of moving for the first time did something to my heart. I attended all of our group hangouts with a nostalgic mindset, remembering the first time we all met, when we all got wasted one time on a Friday night after some big exam week. I look around our table of friends and think about how much I’ll miss all of this when I leave for Itaewon.
Another thing that panged my heart, Minho and I distancing. I knew it was coming, Minho and I didn’t text or talk about hanging out anymore. He walked Ahra to her classes now, and had dates with her after class instead of meeting me at our cafe. Eventually I stopped getting apology messages, and stopped expecting him at the cafe anymore. I couldn’t blame him, Ahra was his girlfriend and I accepted that long ago. Instead I just played the supportive friend on the sidelines, and I’d continue to play that role for as long as I had to.
It came to be the night before we graduated, and all of us minus Minho and Ahra were sat around a table in one of the restaurants we frequented, it wasn’t too late in the evening, and we all just sat in silence after finishing our food with bottles and glasses of soju now sitting in front of us. A majority of our meal was full of reminiscing, talking about memories that crack everyone up and left smiles on our faces.
“So, we really graduate tomorrow, huh?” Changbin says when the table quiets down.
“Yeah, I guess we do.” Chan says quietly.
My eyes tear up and I begin to sniff without control, the weight of my department tomorrow weighing heavily on my shoulders. Hyunjin puts an arm around my shoulders and gives me a tissue, whispering “it’s okay, it’s okay” to me while I try to calm down.
Everyone looks at me in confusion before Chan speaks first. “Y/n are you okay?”
“Yeah, yeah, I just…” I trail off, not sure what to say.
“Do you want to tell them?” Hyunjin asks softly.
“Tell us what?” Seungmin says this time.
Hyunjin looks to me first before nodding, and I begin to spill my secret. “I got an internship offer.”
The table erupts in cheers and I get congratulations thrown back at me before I can even continue.
“But…” Immediately everyone silences and looks to me in expectation. “It’s in Itaewon.”
There’s a tense air that falls around us. “What?” Felix says in disbelief.
“You’re not leaving us, right Noona?” Jeongin asks from another part of the table.
I look to Jeongin with sad eyes, smiling sadly. “I leave tomorrow, after our graduation ceremony.” There’s some gasps around the table.
“What?! Y/n, why didn’t you tell us sooner?” Changbin blows up and Chan has to place a hand on his shoulder to restrain him.
“I didn’t want every time we met leading up to graduation to feel like a goodbye, Bin, I couldn’t handle that. So I kept it from you all so there wasn’t this tension every time we met.” I explained.
“Does Minho know?” Seungmin asks this time, and I shake my head.
“Y/n…” Han says worriedly.
“Guys, I know I’m not the only one that’s noticed that me and Minho aren’t that close anymore, so I haven’t really gotten the chance to tell him. But I told Hyunjin this a long time ago, that I wouldn’t tell Minho specifically, because there’s some things that I need to figure out and if I told him he’d find some way to keep me from going, or even worse, follow me. At least with Ahra by his side he won’t follow me to Itaewon.” There’s nods all around the table, understanding where I’m coming from.
“We’re gonna miss you a lot.” Felix sniffs and I coo, getting up from my seat to wrap my arms around him from behind.
“I’m gonna miss you all too.” I sniff with him, a few tears escaping my eyes.
Chan comes to join our hug, then Han, then Jeongin, and soon enough everyone has joined the group hug with me in the middle. All of us are crying, and I had never felt more loved than that moment.
Eventually we break away from the hug and return to our seats, everyone dabbing at their eyes with tissues and sniffing.
“Let’s all stop crying, tonight is a night to celebrate, all of us graduate tomorrow, and our dear Y/n got an internship offer in a big city!” Han holds up a drink and we all do the same, cheering and clinking our glasses together and celebrating the night away.

The next morning I get ready for graduation early, putting on my makeup and doing my hair, and sending a message.
to: [cat dad who’s a leech :D]
hey, can you meet me at p&p in thirty?
My heart picks up the pace as I send the message, I didn’t expect him to answer so quickly yet his message pings my phone within 2 minutes.
from: [cat dad who’s a leech :D]
sure, i can be there
to: [cat dad who’s a leech :D]
sweet, i’ll see you there
I turn my phone off and take a deep breath, we still had a few hours before we had to be at the school for our graduation ceremony, I’d have to leave just a few minutes after the ceremony ended which wouldn’t give me enough time to tell Minho, so, I made the painful decision the night before to tell him in the morning. I’d do it in our favorite spot in the corner of our favorite cat cafe, tell him the news slowly and hope that he takes it well.
I leave my house and 15 minutes later I’m in our usual booth, my coffee order sitting in front of me and the cats all wandering around as there weren’t too many people since it was relatively early in the morning. I already bought Minho his typical Iced Americano and it sat in front of me, awaiting it’s owner.
10 minutes later Minho arrives and makes his way to the table, sitting in front of me, smiling, unknowing of what’s about to happen.
“Hey.” I smile at him.
“Hey you.” He smiles back brightly. “Sorry I couldn’t see you guys last night, I took Ahra out for dinner last night on a date.”
“It’s completely alright, how are you guys?”
“Pretty good, things are going okay right now.” He answers.
“That’s good.” Nervously I take a sip of my macchiato in front of me, my leg bouncing in anxiety.
“Y/n? Is everything alright? Your leg’s bouncing pretty fast right now.” Curse Minho and the fact that he knows so much about me, he reaches out for my wrist and checks my pulse, quickly noticing how fast it’s beating as his brows furrow in confusion.
“Minho, there’s something I need to tell you.” I say, retracting my wrist from his grip. He doesn’t answer me but instead tilts his head like a cat does when it looks at its owner questionably. “I’m leaving.”
“What?” He asks.
How could one look so endearing, head tilted and eyes full of emotion as I break the news to him? I ask myself. “I got an internship offer for a company in Itaewon, I accepted it and I’m leaving for Itaewon, today.”
“You’re leaving today?” He says in disbelief, sounding out of breath.
I nod and continue. “After the graduation today I have to catch my bus. I didn’t have any other time to tell you so I had to tell you now.”
“You’re… You’re just telling me now? Do the others know about this?”
“I only told them last night.”
“You couldn’t have thought of telling me sooner?” He starts to get angry.
“Minho I-“
“What happened to telling me everything, huh? What happened to when we used to know everything about each other?”
“Minho, those days are long behind us, you have bigger priorities now, like putting your focus on your girlfriend, Minho. I couldn’t tell you because I knew you’d do something rash, and I didn’t even tell the others until last night because I knew every time we’d see each other it would be like preparing for the day I leave. You and Ahra have something so great going on for the two of you right now and telling you that I was leaving would take you away from that, and I can’t do that to you or her. Ahra is an amazing girl, and you have her now.”
“Will you at least visit?” His eyes are full of tears, some of the first I’ve seen in years and I hate that I’m the cause of it.
“I don’t know yet, there’s some things I need to figure out myself first, before I can visit. But at some point maybe I will, when I’ve figured things out I’ll try visiting from time to time.” I offer him a sad smile.
After a few moments of silence I get up from my seat.
“We still have a graduation left, Min, I’ll still see you then.” I ruffle his hair and walk out of the cafe, no more secrets but one weighing down on my chest.
Tumblr media
The Graduation ceremony passes by in a blur. One moment we were listening to the speeches of each of the professors and the next we were tossing our caps into the air, cheering as we became alumni of our university.
Our friend group met up in the front of the school, taking pictures with our parents and congratulating each other. Eventually, the time comes and I have to go.
Our group stands in a circle, unmoving, as we all look at each other.
“I’m gonna miss all of you so much.” I say in tears as my voice breaks.
“We’re gonna miss you too, Y/n.” Hyunjin says. At his words everyone gathers into a group hug full of tears and the weight of a goodbye on our shoulders.
“You better promise to visit us, okay?” Felix holds me by the shoulders and makes a point to look me in the eye. Not trusting my voice, I nod and he brings me into one more hug.
I hug each of them individually, saying a few words, before I reach the last person.
I hug Minho and look into his eyes for the last time for a while.
“I’ll miss you.” He whispers.
“Me too.” And that’s all I can say.
I leave the campus for the last time, hopping in my car to head to the station and start anew.
Second leads always leave in the end, they leave and let the two main leads have a happy ending. That’s what it felt like I was doing, and I couldn’t tell if I was content with my choice or not.

Two and a half months in Itaewon passes quickly.
The move into my new apartment was smooth, and it was odd to be in a bigger space than a small dorm room. It felt like I had more space than I knew what to do with.
My internship was moving along smoothly as well, everyone I had met so far were really kind and taught me a lot. I was worried about feeling out of place but I had met a few other girls not much older than me who helped me feel at home.
Being alone in a big city was unnerving, but what made it so much more comfortable was the addition of a cat that my parents had bought me as my graduation gift. She was a chartreux cat who I named Luna because I had always dreamed of naming my first cat that. My parents covered most of the costs of basic things like cat toys, a scratch post, her bed, and similar things. I thanked my parents endlessly when they came over to my apartment a week after I had moved in and gave me Luna. I wasn’t gone for too long during the day and always left food for her, she was great company when I came home and worked on projects late into the evening, curling up into my lap like the cats at the old cafe used to. She was my best friend in a city I was still getting accustomed to.
I hadn’t talked to the guys much, I’d talked with them a few times in the group chat about how their job searches were going and trips they were planning to take soon. It was nice talking with them every so often but all of us were still pretty busy moving onto the next chapter of our lives.
I hadn’t talked to Minho since I left, I’d assumed that he and Ahra were doing well, but that’s all that was, assumption. None of the boys talked about him and I couldn’t understand why, but I never asked since I was supposed to be moving on from my feelings in the first place. I thought I had been doing pretty well until something would come up that reminded me of him, like his favorite song would play in the cafe I bought my morning coffee in and spent my breaks at, or snapchat would send me “Today, 1 year ago” memories of him and me fooling around at Paws and Pastries. Whenever that would happen I’d be sent back to square one, and it felt like I’d never move on from Minho.
I was on my way out to grab a coffee and spend my off day walking around, maybe looking into a few shops when I got a call from Hyunjin.
“Y/n! My favorite girl, how are you?”
“Hyunjin? What’s with the call?”
“What? Can I not call my friends from time to time?”
“Not when you’re notorious for calling your ‘friends’ after you’ve done something wrong.” I sigh.
“That was one time! Besides, it wasn’t that bad.”
“You dragged Jeongin to a party! And got him wasted!”
“One. Time. Y/n. It was one time.”
“One time is enough for you to be in trouble for life, Hyun.”
“Okay, whatever, but I was meaning to ask you, what’re your plans for today?”
“Me? I was just planning to go out, today’s my day off so I was gonna visit this one cafe and see some shops, why?”
“No reason, what time do you think you’ll be home?”
“Maybe five?”
“Great, okay, I have to go now, Han’s calling me, bye!” Hyunjin hangs up before I can ask him what’s with the weird questions.
“Hyunjin- Oh great he hung up.” I put my phone in my pocket before looking down at Luna who’s stretching near my legs. “Your uncle Hyunjin is quite the odd one, isn’t he Luna, hm?” I ask her and she meows back in response. “Weird indeed, but that’s just how he is. Mommy’s gonna spend her day out and then she’ll come home and we can watch the TV together, okay? I’ll be home soon.” I pick up Luna and set her on her little bed before ensuring everything is safe and make my way out the door.
Tumblr media
I spend the day eating at a large cat cafe that actually had an assortment of books with little reading areas while the cats roamed around everywhere. It was much bigger than the cafe in Gimpo, but I would always correlate that one with home.
After I spent a bit of time reading there I went out and explored the shops for a few hours, bought some new jeans and a few blouses plus some makeup things. I got Subway for lunch and explored just a little bit more before heading home. Instead of going straight home, I decided to take the long way, going through the streets not minding the extra weight the few shopping bags I was holding in my hands gave me. The sun was just barely beginning to set as I walked into my apartment complex, getting into the elevator and pressing the button for my floor.
I walk down the hallway to my door and am surprised when a familiar figure greets me there.
“Minho?” I say as I walk closer.
“Y/n!” He says happily, bringing me into a hug.
“What are you doing here? Actually- Wait- Don’t answer that, do you wanna come inside?” I ask him.
“Sure.” He responds.
I unlock the door and bring my bags in, setting them by the door. “Luna! Mommy’s home!” I call out automatically.
Luna meows and comes out of the bedroom, walking her way up to me before I pick her up.
“You got a cat?” Minho asks.
“Yeah, parents brought her to me about a week after I moved in.” I put Luna back down and she moves to sit on the arm of the couch, her favorite spot to sit when the sun goes down.
“And you named her Luna,” He smiles fondly. “You always wanted to name your cat Luna.”
“I’m surprised you remember that.” I chuckle. “Do you want some coffee?”
“Sure.”
“I’ll get that brewing, just give me a few minutes, you can take a seat on the couch and make yourself at home!” I tell him as I quickly retreat to the kitchen.
I have to take a few breaths when I’m far away enough from Minho, my heart beating just as fast as it would when I was around him back then. It was clear I hadn’t moved on at all.
I brew the coffee as promised and wait next to the coffee machine with two mugs ready. A voice chimes in behind me.
“Your place is much bigger than the dorms.” He chuckles.
“Tell me about it, it was so weird buying more furniture than I was used to.” I laugh with him.
The machine finishes brewing the coffee and I pour it into the two mugs, putting it on a tray with creamer and sugar before bringing it all to the coffee table in front of the couch.
Minho and I take seats on the couch, separated by a bit of space between us while we sip on our respective mugs.
“So,” I start the conversation. “How’s home?”
“Not too bad, same old same old, the guys being annoying as usual, you know?” He says.
“Sounds fun.” I chuckle. “And work, have you found anything yet?”
“Not yet, I’ve got a few applications out, but I’m still waiting on some answers.”
“I’m sure you’ll get them soon.” I respond.
An uncomfortable silence sets over the both of us, and I run my free hand through Luna’s fur who’s situated herself in my lap this time. I take a long sip of my coffee before asking another question.
“How’s… How are you and Ahra?”
“Oh…” He trails off. “We broke up a few weeks ago.”
“I’m sorry to hear that…” I had no idea that he and Ahra had broken up, in fact that was the completely opposite of what I thought had happened since they seemed to work together so well.
“Yeah, it was a mutual thing. We didn’t really feel that kind of connection anymore, you know? So we just, broke it off.”
“Are you okay?” I ask Minho.
“Me? Yeah, I’m actually not as affected as I thought I’d be, I don’t know if that makes me a cruel person or not but I was only sad for the first week or two. Nothing too bad.”
“I see.” Another silence settles between us. This one is longer, more tense, there was something Minho wanted to ask but he wasn’t sure, and I couldn’t depict what question he was going to ask.
“Actually, I came her for a reason.” He says.
“And what reason is that?” I ask hesitantly.
“For answers.” My brows furrow, answers for what? “There’s something Hyunjin told me recently and it got me thinking, and I wanted to hear it from you if it was true.”
I finish my coffee and place it down delicately on the coffee table, trying not to show how nervous I was with how badly my hands were shaking. “I’ll see if I have answers for you then.”
“When you told me you were leaving, you said you had some, things, to figure out on your own. What was it that you had to figure out?”
I take a moment to decide exactly how I was going to answer his question. Did I want to expose my feelings to him just yet? “Just, feelings.” I say vaguely.
“For?”
“Just feelings for somebody.”
“Is it Hyunjin?”
“No.”
“Chan?”
“Nope.”
“Changbin?”
“Nuh-uh.”
“Me?”
I pause for just a half second, and apparently that was all Minho needed. “I guess Hyunjin’s big mouth was right after all.”
“Wait- What? What are you talking about?”
Minho takes a long sip of his coffee before finishing letting out a sigh after swallowing, he slowly sets the mug on the table before making direct eye contact with me and silently killing me with the suspense. “Minho please just say something you’re killing me here.”
He only chuckles in response. “Hyunjin told me not too long ago that you took up the offer to work here because you were going to sort out your feelings, for me.” He says sweetly as I suck in a breath at his last words.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about Minho-“
“Now now, Y/n, we shouldn’t hide things from each other anymore, should we?” His sweet, sultry voice was affecting me greatly as he leaned closer to me on the couch. I gulp and silently curse when Luna, the only thing keeping me sane, leaves the comfort of my lap for her scratch-post.
“Minho…” I let out quietly.
“Tell me, Kitten, is it true?” He asks once again.
“I-“ My voice catches in my throat when Minho leans in ever nearer, still making direct eye-contact with me. “Yes, it is.” I sigh out and Minho backs away.
“He was right.” Minho whispers while my gaze drops to my hands that I fiddle with in my lap at the secret that’s let out. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I’m sorry.” I whisper.
“Why are you sorry darling?” He asks softly and uses his thumb and forefinger to tilt my head up by my chin.
“I couldn’t tell you because I knew you didn’t feel the same, and then when you got together with Ahra we drifted apart because it hurt me to see you with her. Then I left and told you about me leaving so last minute. I made you cry, Minho, and I hate that I did. But I couldn’t see any other way out of it. I hurt you because I was cowardly and didn’t want to be selfish by telling you and having your attention move off of Ahra, when I was really being selfish by not telling you and hurting you in the end.” More tears escape my eyes as we look at each other.
“Princess, no…” He cups my face with his hands and uses his thumbs to wipe away my tears. “I’ll admit, it did hurt when you told me that you were leaving the day of, but I understood where you were coming from. Because you were right, I would have done something crazy to keep you by my side. Do you know why?” He asks, and I shake my head, still crying. “Because I need you by my side, kitten, even when I was dating Ahra I felt off but just didn’t pay any mind to it because I had her. But now I know it’s because you and I were drifting apart, I found out when after you left and me and Ahra broke up because I felt empty. I couldn’t text you to just come over anymore because you’re farther away from me now. I lied earlier, I said that I sent out some applications for jobs but didn’t get any answers yet, right?” I nod. “I got offered a job as a software engineer, here, in Itaewon, and I said yes.”
“Why?” I whisper.
“Because I want to be near you, I need to be by your side Y/n, because I love you.” I let out a sob at his confession and he coos, bringing me to rest my head on his chest and rubbing his hands on my back and running them through my hair.
“I love you too.” I say after a few minutes.
Minho brings me out of his hold, and cups my face again. For the first time, he kisses me. His lips brush over mine before deepening the kiss, taking full charge of it yet somehow still being soft with me. His kisses were nothing short of addicting, and I knew I’d be in love with him for a long time.
In that moment, kissing the man of my dreams, I remember that it may be rare that a second lead gets their own happy ending, but it’s not unheard of. Sometimes the main lead and second lead do end up with their own happily ever after.

Notes from the author: I have FINALLY posted something y’all 😂 took a few months but she’s here, and she’s dishing out something at least. I don’t know how often I’ll be posting again, esp with school and whatnot, but I do know I need to drain out my drafts because phew, it’s getting a little full in there.
But anyways, I hope you enjoyed this fic! I’m pretty sure it’s one of the longest I’ve written if not the longest. Hopefully it wasn’t too bad, I’m probably a little rusty but we can fix that (i think)
if you want more I still have my old stuff up on my masterlist on my account! hope to see you around :))

warnings: soft. me when
summary: <requested by @itsfridaytheeeen> looking through some moments between lando & reader that just build up and make them realize they’re actually in love (on new year’s eve) :D
a/n: STILL REELING FROM THE MCLAREN 1-2 FINISH. also so happy with this request it made me want to get a boyfriend :/ obviously kinda got carried away ... ha ha ha anyway request idea comes from taylor swift’s cardigan, specifically these lyrics: “dancin’ in your levis / drunk under the streetlights + i knew you’d miss me / once the thrill expired” and added a little of my ~interpretation~ by connecting it to taylor’s you are in love :D enjoy!!!
Another three hundred and sixty five days have passed and as you warm your hands with the heat of your mug filled with hot chocolate, you can’t help but think back to the year that has come and gone. Each month sprinkled with special memories that shouldn’t seem too important but are because they symbolized a new realization for you — something that must have been there all along if you just looked closer. A few of your favorite moments stand out to you as you think back to what made this year so valuable to you.
February.
“Are you awake?” The brightness from your phone’s screen causes you to squint as you read the three words that have shown up as a notification from your best friend. You check the time and see that midnight has just passed and you roll your eyes. Of course he’s awake at this time. “No.” You text back. “I’m outside. Cheers.” You barely have time to process the contents of your best friend’s message when you hear your doorbell ring thrice. You know it’s mean but you have to think about whether or not you want to get up and open the door. He would understand, right? You’re just so comfortable in bed right now. Your phone starts to ring and you groan. You decline the call and roll out of bed. You make your way to the front door, opening it without bothering to check the peephole. The only person crazy enough to bother you at this time is Lando Norris.
And here he is, wrapped in his favorite coat, holding up what looks like takeout from your favorite restaurant based on the logo found on the paper bag you are all too familiar with. “Surprise?” He offers, waving the paper bag in the air. The cheeky smile of his trying to soften you up. “This better be good, Norris. I was happily snuggled up in bed already.” You try to deadpan but you’re almost sure he can sense the amusement in your voice.
“Well, I just figured. We’re both dateless this Valentine’s Day so we might as well make the most out of it.”
“If this is your way of asking me to be your Valentine’s date, you’re doing a shitty job.”
You hadn’t even realized that it was the 14th today. Valentine’s Day was something you learned to just ignore whenever you didn’t have someone to spend it with. “Yeah, yeah, I’m desperately in love with you or whatever if that makes you happy. Can I come in now?” You step aside and let him in. The cool weather of February treats him well—his cheeks are tinged pink and it kind of makes you want to wrap him in even more sweaters to make sure he’s warm. Most of the lights in your apartment are turned off but you both naturally make your way through the halls to your kitchen because he knows this place almost as much as you do. He was here to help you when you moved in and this is almost his second home too. Just as his place is for you. Lando begins unpacking the takeout and laying out the food he’s ordered on your countertops. You sit down on one of the stools, just observing him ready everything for your midnight meal. Your source of light comes from the brightness coming in from your windows. You appreciate how he looks right at this moment and try to capture this memory in your mind. Lando, with his messy curls and the content expression he has on his face as he sorts through the takeout. You would normally be weirded out if anyone else did this out of no where, but Lando’s always been that one person you (admit it or not) would always get up for no matter what time. Just as you were that same person for him.
“How do you know I even want to eat right now?” You tease. “Because you’re always in the mood for burgers.” You raise an eyebrow at him, waiting for him to continue. “…And they had a Valentine’s Day promo. Two burgers for the price of one with a side of chips and milkshakes. So you’re officially my valentine this year. Just like last year. Nothing out of the ordinary.” You laugh as he places a burger in front of you. “It couldn’t wait until later today? I might just have to find a more considerate date next year.” You scrunch up your nose, trying to express fake displeasure. Lando dips a fry into one of the milkshakes and holds it up to your mouth. “You’re telling me you don’t want me here?” You bite into the fry. “I’m saying I value sleeping.” You can’t tell yet and neither can he but you’ve just lied. Here, at midnight in your barely-lit apartment, you would not want to be spending your time any way else.
July.
“You are crazy.” Lando says as you walk hand-in-hand down the sidewalk, away from the pub you both were just celebrating a mutual friend’s birthday at. “But you loooove it.” You say in a singsong manner, feeling giddy from the energy of the party and the free-flowing drinks that you and Lando had obviously taken advantage of. The pub isn’t too far from Lando’s apartment and that’s where you’d left your car earlier because you both knew driving home straight from the pub was going to be a bad idea. So after leaving your car at Lando’s, you both decided to take the scenic route and walk to the pub.
Now that it’s past midnight, the city feels a little quieter and in this moment it feels like only you and Lando exist in the world. Aside from the occasional stray cat you pass. You tug at his hand, pulling him forward and feeling so happy and alive. You want to feel like this forever. Lando lets you tug him along, the both of you giggling as you nearly trip over a nonexistent curb. At one point there’s a hop in your step and you’re almost skipping down the road, pretty sure that to a stranger you both look either really silly or really drunk.
You only have the dim streetlights guiding you home but he is still so clear to you. You get pretty tired after a while and decide to rest under one of the streetlights. You lean against the pole as Lando stands in front of you, both of you trying to catch your breath. In this light, he looks happy. His green eyes vivid and alight with life. You don’t know why but you feel your hand reaching out to grab his. You want to blame the alcohol in your system but a small part of you knows that drunk or not, you just want to hold his hand. Lando lets you but raises an eyebrow at you, a small smile on his face.
“We should dance.” You say out of no where. Lando bursts out laughing and you frown, even if you’re kinda pleased that you’ve gotten him to laugh. “I’m being serious.” He calms down a bit and just to humor you, he tugs on your hand and spins you around. You both laugh at how sad your attempt at dancing is. Your eyes meet his after being spun and you grab his other hand. “We’re going to need some music here.” Lando says, proceeding to guide you both into some sort of stepping-around-dancing motion. You start humming a random tune, not even sure if it’s a real song or something you’ve just thought of. You both are laughing like small kids - it’s not everyday you’re dancing along the sidewalk, feeling like life couldn’t get any better than this. You just want Lando to know how thankful you are for him. Your hands leaves Lando’s and you step closer to him. You wrap your arms around him and lean your head into his chest, now hugging him as he still sways you both from side to side. “You okay?” Lando whispers. His arms make his way around you too. “Yes. I am great.” You whisper back. He says nothing back but his hug tightens and you just want to stay in this moment forever. If there was one thing you wanted to ask life for, it would be that you and Lando never change. “Hey, Y/N?” You hum in response. “You’re my best friend.” You smile against his chest, understanding what he’s trying to tell you. “You are in love with me, Norris.” You kind of joke, trying to lighten up the mood. He just laughs in response as you both remain swaying under that one streetlight.
November.
November was always one of your favorite months because it meant celebrating Lando’s birthday. Lando usually treated it like just another day but you, on the other hand, loved birthdays and always wanted to make sure it was a special day. “Can you please tell me what you want to do?” You say from Lando’s bed. Lando is shuffling around the room, unpacking the contents of his suitcase from his latest trip. Lazy days with Lando looked like this. Majority of the day spent binging whatever show was on Netflix and wrapped in the thickest of blankets in one of his hoodies. You always loved having an excuse to steal one of his hoodies until Lando caught on. He never said anything though, except for that one time he simply told you he didn’t really care since he thought you looked nicer in them anyway. “I don’t really know, Y/N. I don’t really want to do anything big you, know? Besides, you always end up doing something I tell you not to do.” He teases, shooting you a smile. You groan. “Okay, but that’s because you never give me anything to work with… And you enjoyed that surprise party we threw for your 18th, don’t even lie!”
Lando chuckles and takes a seat at the foot of his bed. “Okay, I did. That was pretty awesome.” You make eye contact with Lando and feel yourself getting excited. “No.” He says. “But-“ “No, please do not throw me another party.” You groan again. Back to square one. Lando lies on his back, his face now closer to you. He looks up at you and smiles. “You really don’t have to do anything. I swear.” You poke his cheek. “But I want to.” You start playing with his hair as he continues to just look at you. He rolls over and he’s now on his stomach. “Hi.” He says, grabbing your hand. You laugh at his attempt to change the topic. “Hi.” You reply. “I missed you.” Something starts to build up in your stomach. Butterflies. Like they’ve all come to life all at once. The guy in front of you means so much to you. “I missed you too,” You start. “But what do you want to do for your birthday?” Lando laughs at your persistence. “You are unstoppable. Okay. Fine. Do you really want to know what I want to do?” You nod. “Yes.” Lando’s eyes dart away from yours, his cheeks starting to turn pink. Suddenly, he looks like someone too shy to say something.
“I kind of just wanted to spend my birthday with you.”
Butterflies aren’t butterflies anymore—it feels like a thousand birds are in there. You feel your cheeks start to heat up too. You’re usually able to counter whatever Lando says but this time you’re properly stunned. You were expecting some random answer from him but you can tell that he’s dead serious about what he’s just said. You and Lando had never really been the type of people to say soft or mushy things so whenever pieces of Lando’s heart exposed themselves through his words, you always felt your appreciation for him grow fonder and fonder. You loved Lando for who he was but this side of him was something so intimate and rare to see that it just made you love him even more.
“Oh, you’re blushing!” Lando exclaims, sitting up. You look away, laughing at how right he is. “No, I’m not!” You can’t stop smiling so you try to hide your face with your free hand. “Oh, come on, love! Let me see you. It’s cute. You’re cute.” He pulls your hand away and he’s smiling so widely at you, you’d gladly embarrass yourself if it meant he’d be like that all the time. “Okay. But you were clearly blushing too.” You point out. Lando rolls his eyes but moves closer to you. He plants a kiss on your left right cheek. “But you,” He pauses in between his sentence to kiss the other. “Are adorable when you do it.”
You don’t know how but you feel your cheeks get even warmer. “What if I’m just running a fever?” Lando just laughs again, dismissing your obvious failed attempt to make an excuse. He tucks the hair that’s fallen in front of your face behind your ear. He studies your face a bit more before a small smile forms on his face. You wonder what he’s thinking now. “You’re my best friend.” He says out of no where. You smile as you’re immediately brought back to that random night in July. Those four words never meant just that and you both knew it. Not after he had showed up at your doorstep the next day, looking kind of spooked. You remember how without an explanation, the first thing he had said was: “I am. I actually am.” It took you a while but you suddenly understood he was referring to what you had said after he had told you that you were his best friend under the streetlight.
“You’re my best friend too, Lando.”
—And now you’re in December. Another year has passed and you want to laugh at how things turned out to be so different from how you’d expected them to be. They turned out even better. Life had a funny way of working itself out. You think about how you’re now dating Lando and how much you’ve learned even more about him since you started but you also think about how he’s always been your favorite person even before you two got together. You think about how you were so scared that the dynamic between you two would be ruined if you tried dating but it turned out to be fine. You both knew how to communicate with each other whenever anything came up and you still laughed the hardest whenever he was around.
“You’re smiling.” You look up from your mug, not even having realized Lando had arrived already. He’s in a festive sweater as are you. He takes a seat beside you. “Just thinking about the fireworks later tonight.” You tease. “More like, thinking about me.” “If that helps you sleep at night, Lando.” He was right though. “You,” He pokes your cheek. “Help me sleep at night.” He winks at you and you playfully shove him aside. “Gross, Lando.”
“You love it.” “I do.”

Could you maybe do that part 5 of truth or drink you alluded to?? :) with Jules and the lupins and basically Jules spilling ALLL of re’s secrets & Marley loving it 🥰
Oh, Jules, how I missed you. The truth or drink referenced in this ask is here (it's been an age since I did one, wow!) and SW credit of course goes to @lumosinlove!
“Please can we have alcohol?” Jules swung his legs under the table with wide, pleading eyes.
Marlene barked a laugh. “Over my dead body, baby Loops.”
“It would be,” Remus agreed with a teasing grin.
“Welcome back to Lion Pride, both of you,” she said, ruffling their hair. Both scrunched their faces up in identical expressions of displeasure. “There are fifteen cards in your deck, and if you don’t want to answer the question, you have to take a drink of apple juice. Not alcohol.”
“You used to be cool,” Jules sulked. Marlene rolled her eyes and Remus reached over to flick his ear. “Hey, that hurt!”
“No, it did not.”
“I’m gonna tell mom you hit me.”
Remus turned to Marlene with a long-suffering look. “Can I have alcohol?”
“Get crackin’, boys, the world wants to know your secrets.” She tapped the deck of cards with a wink and wandered behind the cameras again.
“Alright, here we go.” Remus sighed. “My name is Remus Lupin, I’m the Lions’ right wing, and I’m here with my baby brother to answer some questions. Take it away, Jules.”
“I’m not a baby,” Jules clarified to the camera. “I’m twelve. Who’s the most attractive sibling?”
Remus frowned. “Me? Just ‘cause I’m older.”
“As if.”
“Oh my god,” he muttered, reaching for his own card. “Oh, this should be fun. Name your favorite parent.”
“Dad,” Jules answered without hesitating. Remus’ eyebrows shot up. “What?”
“First, you’re not supposed to answer that fast, and second, what?”
“Dad’s cool!”
“Dad is not cool!” Remus laughed. “I don’t have a favorite parent—”
“Liar.”
“—but mom is the cool one. Dad’s a dork, and we love him for it.” He shook his head. “I can’t believe this. Mom would literally do anything for you. She learned to skate for you.”
“It’s not like I don’t love mom!” Jules protested as he took a new card. “I love her so much! And I know mom is your favorite, so it’s only fair. Which of us is the most successful, and which is the screwup?”
“I don’t have a favorite parent,” Remus insisted, leaning back in his seat. “And neither of us are screwups.”
“You’re more successful.”
“That doesn’t mean you’re a screwup. It means you’re twelve. Who’s the overachiever?”
“You,” Jules snorted. “You’re such a nerd. It’s embarrassing. What’s the meanest thing I did to you when we were kids?”
Remus rested his chin on his hand and thought for a moment, then turned to look behind the camera. “Since we were only kids together for, like, three years, can I say something from a little later?”
“Anything before age 25,” Marlene called.
He nodded decisively. “Sweet. In that case, it’s the time this little monster let a rat into the house, freaked out when he didn’t know what to do, then locked it in my bedroom and didn’t tell anyone until I went to bed and something ran across my sheets.”
Jules shrugged. “You survived.”
“Yeah, and you almost didn’t.”
“So dramatic,” he muttered.
Remus whacked him over the head with the next card before reading it. “Oh, god. Share the most mortifying memory you have of me. If you drink that apple juice and don’t answer, I’ll get you ice cream on the way home.”
Jules leaned back with a hum, already grinning. “Let’s see…”
“No,” Remus groaned.
“Probably—” Jules broke off to giggle. “Probably when you took me into the locker room to meet the team and the whole time I was talking to Sirius, you looked like you were about to melt into the floor. You had this stupid grin on your face—”
“Shut up.”
“—and almost tripped over your own feet, like, four times. This was before you guys were dating, too.”
“You are the worst,” Remus said, though his voice was muffled by his forearms. “Next question?”
“I can keep going. There was the time you gave yourself a black eye hanging Christmas lights, and when you bounced off an enforcer when you tried to check him, and when mom asked you to defrost the chicken for dinner and you forgot so you put it in the microwave and almost set the house on fire, and—“
“Marlene.” Remus raised his head with a pitiful look. “Please make him stop. Please.”
“Okay,” Marlene laughed, a little breathless. “Alright, one sec. Jules, your turn.”
“Ugh, fine. Do you let me win at things?”
“When you were five, sure.” Remus tilted his head to the side. “Otherwise, no. Do you want me to let you win?”
“I’d be so upset if you did. I only get better because I want to kick your ass one day.”
“Language. Am I a good brother?”
“Well, yeah,” Jules said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. He blinked at Remus, clearly confused. “Duh. You’re weird and annoying, but you’re one of my top three favorite people?”
“Before or after dad?” Remus teased, but it was soft with fondness.
Jules narrowed his eyes and leaned his elbows on the table. “Wouldn’t you like to know. Have I ever disappointed you?”
“Never. I don’t think you could if you tried. Who’s smarter?”
“Me.” Remus gave the camera a disbelieving look as Jules took a new card. “Ha! I like this one. Which of us was a mistake?”
“Oh, that is a good one. Honestly, I don’t think either of us were planned. Mom and dad definitely weren’t expecting a kid at 21 and 25, and absolutely weren’t planning on another one fifteen years later.”
Jules cast the camera a bright smile. “Oops!”
“But we’re their best mistakes,” Remus said solemnly with the ghost of a smile, as if he was repeating a sentiment that had been said many times before. “Okay, I need to have a talk with whoever set up these questions. Do an impersonation of me, or drink to—”
“Oh, look at me, I’ve got a fancy degree,” Jules mimicked, dropping his voice comically low. “I’m so cool, I’ve got a secret boyfriend and I’m not gonna tell anyone about it for three whole months even though I suck at keeping secrets. I’m tall, so I’m gonna grab my awesome little brother by the ankles and shake him around—”
“You asked me to—”
“Shh! I’m not done!”
Remus gave him an incredulous look. “They get the point!”
Jules stuck his tongue out, but grabbed a new card from the stack. “What are your best and worst memories of mom and dad?”
“Aw, man.” Remus tapped his short stack of cards on the table and bit his lip. “Best and worst…best would probably be Christmas two or three years ago, when we all went skating on the lake.”
“That’s a good one,” Jules mused.
“It’s hard to think of my worst memory of them. Um, maybe after I stopped playing hockey in college? There was a lot of walking on eggshells and it was really uncomfortable.”
Remus read the next card and his frown dissolved into laughter; he reached for the apple juice and filled both glasses to the brim, then pushed them across the table to Jules without a word. “What are these for? You have to read the card, dummy.”
“The most spoiled sibling has to drink,” Remus said with a wide grin.
“It’s not me!” Jules protested, though it was weak. “You were an only child for fifteen years!”
“Yeah, and?” His amusement only grew as Jules struggled to make a comeback. “See, you can’t even deny it! You’re the baby of the family and everybody loves you. How many times have you been to Gryffindor?”
Jules opened and closed his mouth a few times, going red with indignance.
“How many?” Remus’ expression was pure glee. “Buddy, I didn’t leave Wisconsin for anything other than roadies until you were old enough to travel, and then mom and dad had to show you off to everyone.”
“They love you, too!”
“I know they do,” Remus laughed. “They’re great parents and we both had amazing childhoods. You’re still the more spoiled one.”
“I don’t like this game,” he muttered as he drank one of the glasses. “And I’m not drinking that other one. Okay, last question. Should we see more of each other?”
“Of course,” Remus said. “I wish we lived closer to each other all the time. Do you think so?”
Jules reached for the glass, then burst out laughing when Remus’ jaw dropped. “Oh, I got you so good! But yeah, I miss you a ton during the school year.”
“You little…” Remus bit back his threat and ruffled Jules’ hair despite his protests, cheeks turning pink with embarrassment. “Keep that up and you’re gonna get flipped again.”
“You wouldn’t. Not on camera.”
“Try me.”
Jules bolted from his seat and tried to make a run for it, but Remus was faster—he caught him around the waist, hefted him under one arm, and turned him around until he could get ahold of his skinny ankles. “No!” Jules shrieked through his giggling as Remus started swinging him lightly back and forth. “No, no, put me down!”
“Just making sure you really don’t want to see more of me,” Remus said, alight with happiness. Jules’ fingers nearly touched the ground. “You’re almost too big for this.”
“Good,” Jules wheezed. “Are we done yet?”
Remus looked back to the camera. “Thanks for tuning into Lion Pride, everyone. Make sure to like and subscribe if you want a slow-motion tutorial on how to transform your little brother into an emergency pendulum.”
“No!”
“Can you get down by yourself?”
Jules stretched his arms toward the floor, but Remus pulled him up an inch just as his fingertips brushed the tile. “Hey! Stop it!”
“Stop what?”
“Pulling me up!”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Remus said, adding another inch.

could you do the anxious tics prompt with fo3 and new vegas companions? sorry, i think i’ve asked you to add characters a lot but i just really love your writing ^^”
FO3 and FONV Romanced! Companions react to Lone's/Six's Anxiety Tics
Here you are, my love. Please never feel bad about requesting more people! It's honestly what I live for, and I loooooove making content for the FO3 and NV folks, since I feel like there's a lot less written about them in general 😊
So thank you so much for the ask!
Here is the prompt with FO4 Companions!
FO3
Butch:
The flash of large red-framed letters had caught Butch’s attention as the pair stood waiting to speak to Doc Church outside his clinic in Megaton. “Whatcha got there, babe?” he had asked, before realizing that it was, in fact, exactly what he had thought. Lone blushed as they looked up at him, hiding behind the pages of their comic book. “You really kept that? After all these years?” They had nodded to him, explaining that it was a sort of security blanket for them, that they could always count on reading the same story, seeing the same happy ending each time they looked between the pages, each time they felt uncertainty or stress, they could count on Grognak to see them through it. He grinned whenever he saw them with it, often curling up beside them, or leaning his head on their shoulder to try and read along with them. In these cases, Lone had to read the pages slower than they normally would, reading the same comic book over and over for the last 10 years means you can skim through it pretty quickly, but they don’t really seem to mind. Now they get to watch as this person that they care so much for enjoys the comic book they relied on and adored for so long.
Charon:
The ghoul was curious about Lone’s tendency to nap directly after dealing with stressful situations, but he decided not to voice any inquiries. His companion would explain themself if they wanted him to know more. One day, they did. Lone had thanked him for always looking after them while they rested off their anxiety, and mentioned that it was something they couldn’t help. Charon had nodded at them, acknowledging their gratitude, before his blue eyes had narrowed in his effort to process the rest of what they had said. It seemed strange to him, sleeping off nerves... Wouldn’t that make it more difficult to sleep? He decided that the logic of it didn’t really matter, whatever it was that caused it, he would look after his partner as they took the time to rest. Soon enough, they would beckon for him to join them, leaning against his shoulder or laying their head in his lap as he kept watch over them. A scarred hand would come to run softly through their hair, or graze lightly over their arm as they dreamed away their anxieties alongside their watchful partner.
Clover:
Lone wasn't quite sure why, but it seemed to them that Clover was always so handsy whenever they became anxious. They had to admit, they didn't necessarily mind it, but she always seemed to get frisky at the most inopportune times. Meanwhile, Clover just can't seem to figure out why Lone is always casting hints her way in the middle of stressful situations. She gets it, she totally is picking up what Lone is putting down every time they draw their bottom lip between their teeth and gnaw away so suggestively, but do they really have to do that right now?! Once Clover finds out it's just Lone's way of coping with their anxiety, she feels sort of foolish… but that doesn't stop her from getting a little turned on whenever Lone does it, even though the timing is usually inconvenient for both of them. But after the trouble and stress has passed, Lone will certainly need to blow off some steam, right? If that’s the case, Clover is more than ready for it.
Cross:
Cross often noticed when Lone had trouble focusing, she tends not to miss a thing, especially when it comes to her Lone. When she sees her partner struggling to keep their attention trained on the person speaking to them, she usually will step in and ask if the person can speak to her companion again at a later time. Her direct and clear way of speaking is a relief for Lone when they are experiencing tension, as their listening becomes almost ineffective when they are being spoken to during times of high stress or anxiety. Paladin Cross understands this, and pays particular attention to speak slowly and with great care in these times. Due to her affinity for speaking this way normally, she and Lone tend to never have issues with communication; which evidently, tends to keep Lone from becoming anxious when they’re around their partner.
Fawkes:
Within his first couple weeks of traveling alongside Lone, the mutant noticed their need to constantly snack. When he decided to inquire about it, and they hesitantly explained their habit to stress eat, he wasn’t sure he understood it, but he knew that he had his own ways of dealing with his nerves, which came in the form of wringing his hands whenever he became anxious. So, if this is how Lone deals with it, he will accept it without question. It wasn’t until one fateful day, when Lone had realized they were completely out of snacking material and they were on the brink of a breakdown, that they realized Fawkes had taken their words to heart, as he reached out a large hand, filled to the brim with an assortment of their favorite snacks from one of his pockets. All this time they thought he only kept ammunition in there, turns out, their partner always had a well-stocked stash of their anxiety-repellent hidden away for cases just like these. They smiled coyly as they took a box of snack cakes, and a tin of crisps, settling down beside Fawkes as he lightly ran his hand up and down their back as they leaned into him, their breathing already beginning to return to normal with each passing moment.
Jericho:
The ex-raider always thought it was a little annoying, the way his companion would stutter at him every time something got dicey, or when they had to deal with some sort of verbal confrontation. It was painful to watch, and when he brought it up to them, and they stuttered back an embarrassed response, he realized it was well out of their control. It would still bug him, and he might make an off-handed comment about it every once in a while, but the more he saw that those comments weren’t funny to his partner, the more they glared at him as he laughed at his own rude jokes, he decided he should refrain from such talk. Lone hadn’t developed a thick skin like most wastelanders he was used to, and certainly not like most raiders; and he would have to constantly remind himself of that. After his realization, he wouldn’t say a word about their stutter again, and God help anyone who did. You mention his partner’s stutter, you’ll probably have one too by the time he’s done with you. If you still even have a tongue, that is.
FONV:
Arcade:
The doctor almost flinched at the feeling of Six’s fingers wrapping around his thumb the first time they did it, but he managed to keep his composure and simply utter a sarcastic comment in response to their sudden action. But when their stress passed, and they explained that it was a tic of theirs that they had trouble controlling, he immediately understood. Not only was he a doctor (so you know, he has pretty extensive knowledge regarding things of this nature) but he’s also had his own lovely tangles with anxiety in the past, and can’t really blame Six for their habit (despite the fact that he has absolutely no tics of his own to deal with). However, his understanding of it doesn’t mean he isn’t going to make some sort of humorous comment on the action whenever it occurs. At Six’s annoyed expression he says that he is simply trying to lighten the mood a bit, maybe distract them with his humorous musings. Six thinks he must not have a clue that he exercises his own coping mechanism (ahem, sarcasm) whenever their gesture makes him uncomfortable, so they end up trying to keep themself from grasping onto his thumb to the best of their abilities. But, to be honest, they’re relieved when Arcade begins reaching over his hand to them in times of stress, his eyes avoiding theirs, and his comments going unuttered, but his thumb extending outward to allow easy access nonetheless. This gesture usually results in a kiss on the cheek for the doctor when his partner has gotten through their bout of stress.
Boone:
He had noticed it when he first met the courier, the way they couldn't look him in the eye. Boone hadn't been sure if it was just him, considering his constant need to wear sunglasses and his somewhat stoic demeanor, or if it was the way they were with everyone, but either way, he didn’t mind in the slightest. When he found that it was a result of their anxiety, he simply nodded to them in understanding, and the pair went on their way. The sniper honestly wasn’t big on direct eye contact himself, another boon of wearing sunglasses was being able to keep your eyes trained wherever you liked, and so people tended not to notice his own habit of avoiding eye contact with them. He threw the idea out to Six one night, and soon enough the pair wore matching sunglasses nearly all the time. And though, as he said, he didn’t mind Six’s habit one bit, the knowledge that they only looked people in the eye when they felt completely comfortable and at ease with them made it all the more special when they did decide to look into his eyes when the pair was talking, or sharing a tender moment. In those little instances, Boone liked to study the details of his partner’s eyes, committing their warm and vibrant glow to memory, paying distinct attention to their unique shape, and the way their pupils dilated as they gazed back at him. He only wondered if they noticed his eyes doing the same in return as he took in the details of the one he loved.
Cass:
The caravaner always tends to offer some form of alcohol to Six whenever she sees their leg shaking in such a way. Cass is familiar with the side effects of withdrawal when she sees them, and she'll try to help her partner to the nearest drink as soon as she can. When Six finally asks her about why it is that she offers alcohol to them when they’re feeling stressed, mentioning that it maaaaaay not be the most healthy coping mechanism for anxiety, she is a bit confused. They were anxious!? Strange, she only tends to shake like that when she hasn't had a drink in a while. With the knowledge that it’s a nervous tic of theirs, Cass uses it to her advantage to better tell when her partner needs to take a load off, or blow off some steam. At the sight of their leg thrumming away, she’ll give their thigh a pat to get their attention, and then ask if there’s anything she can do to help them. As luck would have it, a stiff drink does tend to give Six the time to calm their nerves, so that trend isn’t completely abandoned once Cass has found out the truth about Six’s habit.
Raul:
"What's the matter, boss? Can’t find the right word? Lo siento, mi corazón, English isn't my best language, but I can try and help if you want." Raul is… confused at first. Whenever Six snaps their fingers, he can't seem to figure out if they're trying to find the right word to say, or if they happen to be looking for something, maybe they're trying to keep time, or make a beat? Maybe they’re counting something, trying to remember a phrase? Once they tell him it’s just a nervous tic they have, Raul looks a little embarrassed at the fact that he didn’t assume this earlier on. The ghoul tries not to pay much attention to his partner’s habit, since he knows it must make them a little self conscious when people point it out, but sometimes he can't help but snap along, trying to make a little song to go along with their own improvised rhythm. When Six does finally notice his contribution, Raul just likes to wink at them in response, flashing a playful little smile as they blush in embarrassment at the fact that he caught them doing their nervous tic.
Veronica:
When Veronica noticed that her partner had pierced ears, she was ecstatic. Ecstatic, and jealous. She always wanted to pierce her ears, to find or make her own pretty little earrings to decorate herself with, but alas, ear piercings were certainly not within the limits of Brotherhood dress and decorum. Given her interest in them, it’s no surprise that she noticed the way Six twisted the backs between their fingers, twiddling the bits of jewelry absent-mindedly whenever they became stressed or nervous. Often times, Veronica would reach a hand out to gently pry their fingers from their earring, pulling their hand to her lips so she could give it a small kiss before bringing it to settle somewhere else, to keep them from damaging the little bits of jewelry in their ears that she envied so much.

An Old Scent [1] - Negan x Reader (A/B/O AU)
Summary: During summer break, you decide to come back home to visit your dad, Rick. Over the course of your stay, you realize that your dad's friend is pretty hot.
Warnings: Eventual smut, A/B/O dynamics, cheating, age gap, Negan
A/N: yay first fic! this will have four parts! i hope everyone enjoys. this is an au where the apocalypse never happened. 3.2k words
I squinted as I stepped out into the bright Virginian sun. People swarmed all around me, creating the steady hum of airport ambience that I had grown accustomed to over the years. I had just gotten off a four-hour flight home from college and all I wanted to do was shower and curl up in bed. But I couldn't. Oh, no. First I had to endure a fun thirty-minute car ride with my best friend since second grade. I scanned the curb in front of me for her small black car and caught sight of a tall woman waving at me. I grinned and walked forward, tugging along my baggage behind me.
"Ugh, it's so good to see you, Bee." I sighed as I enveloped my friend into a large hug. She let out a laugh and swayed us gently.
"It's good to see you, too," She hummed, rustling my hair "I forgot how short you were." Bee was an alpha; tall, muscular, and very quick to remind me of our differences. Of course, it was in a 'joking with love' kind of way. I was an omega; small, rounded, and very quick to punch her gently in the abdomen.
"I forgot how much of a jerk you are." I quipped, huffing and wheeling my bag to her trunk.
"Oh, come on, babes, don't be like that," Bee laughed, opening the driver side door and waiting for me to walk back to my side. "Now get in, we've got a lot of catching up to do."
---
"How are your heats going?"
"Jesus, that's what you want to start with?" I scoffed, crossing my arms over my chest. Bee shrugged.
"We don't have to if you don't want to," She clarified, turning out onto the street "I'm just saying, I know they've gotten pretty bad as we've gotten older. Did you try out those tips I sent you?"
"Yea, I did," I said quietly, looking at the trees rushing by on the side of the highway "They worked for a while but..."
"But you need an alpha," Bee sighed, finishing the sentence for me.
"That's the plan for this summer," I agreed "Might finally settle down."
"You know, I'm always here if you need me." She said with a wink. I scoffed at her.
"I'm not that desperate," I laughed, shoving her lightly "Not yet, at least."
"Anyone take your interest back in Colorado?"
"Not really," I hummed, tilting my head in consideration. "There was this one guy. We dated for a few months but towards the end he became a total knot-head. He couldn't keep his hands off me. I thought it was cute at first, but after I started to miss a few classes...well, that shit got old pretty quickly." Bee made a disgusted noise.
"Ugh, men," She grunted, wrinkling her nose "I'm glad I never went through that phase. I'm perfectly happy with chicks, thank you very much. Much less of a pain in my ass."
"Oh, they're not so bad," I smirked "I think it's just alphas in general." She glared at me momentarily and I stuck my tongue out at her. We drove in a comfortable silence for a few moments, just enjoying each other's company. That was always something I loved about Bee. We never had to fill every second with chatter, we could just exist together in the same space and be just as content. She started to hum along to the song that buzzed softly from the radio and my eyes tracked a hawk. Soon enough, we reached our exit and Bee turned the car onto a smaller road, starting the countdown to my arrival home.
"Are you excited to see your dad?" Bee asked, killing the silence.
"Yea, I am," I smiled. We hadn't always had the best of relationships, but the distance that college gave had done wonders for us. A few texts and calls had worked perfectly for us. When he invited me to stay a few weeks during summer I gladly accepted. I wanted to see just how well our relationship had strengthened. Plus I knew he really needed someone.
"How's he doing?" There was genuine concern in Bee's voice. A few months ago, my mom had revealed that she had been having an affair with one of dad's work buddies. She left with him and took my brother down to Georgia.
"I think he's okay. But you know dad, he's not really an emotions guy. He was starting to get some closure but then the divorce papers came in the mail. That really hurt him," I told her, twisting a strand of my hair around my finger. "I just don't know how Lori could do that to him, you know? She won't even let Carl up to visit. The new baby's cute, though. Looks just like Shane." Bee hummed in acknowledgement.
"Well, tell him I said hi, alright?"
"Will do." A few more seconds of silence passed. Until we stopped at a light. Bee looked up and spotted a billboard that sported a very familiar, very handsome face.
"Holy shit!" Bee shrieked, slapping my arm.
"Ow, what the hell?" I hissed, grabbing my shoulder. She pointed frantically at the sign.
"That guy! Isn't that, shit- the hell's his name?" Pulling my eyes from my lap, I let them settle on the object of her excitement. All of the color drained from my face. It was an add for a law firm. There was an old geezer posing proudly on the left, and to his right, was the man who haunted my wet dreams for the majority of high school.
"Negan." I gulped.
"Yea, your dad's hot friend you never shut up about." Bee groaned, pressing on the gas and moving us away from the sign. Negan was a lawyer/make-shift-law-professor and baseball coach at the local community college. He had a sort-of contract with my dad's department. Many times I had come home after school to the two of them puzzling out a case on the kitchen table. Negan was an alpha of alphas, something that got my little omega heart (and other things) pumping until I couldn't breath. His humor and dominating persona made me blush a deep crimson color any time I saw him. Sometimes I would spend hours sitting on the stairs just listening to him talk to my dad. His voice was something else. I had gushed to Bee about him countless times during our times at high school. But I hadn't seen him since my graduation party.
"I wonder if you'll see him again," Bee teased, nudging me again to pull me out of my trance of memories. Then, she did a dramatic gasp. "What if he's your mate?" It was my turn to slap her in the shoulder.
"He's older than my dad!" I squealed, burying my now-blushing cheeks in my hands.
"You're an adult I don't think it matters."
"I think he's engaged."
"Just 'cause there's a goalie doesn't mean you can't scoooore." Bee pulled a face at me and I returned her grimace.
"Whatever, you're lucky we're almost at my house." I huffed, falling back into my seat with my arms crossed over my chest.
"Oh, yea, omega? What are you gonna do?" I rolled my eyes as she laughed off my grumpiness. We rolled to a stop in front of my driveway and a leaned in to give her a kiss on the cheek.
"Thanks so much, Bee, I really appreciate you," I grinned, popping open the door.
"No problem, babes," She winked, unlocking the trunk "But I swear to the gods, you better fucking call me and give me updates on everything, especially if you run into Mr. Hotcakes." I rolled my eyes once more and promised her I would before closing the door. I retrieved my bag and gave her a wave as she drove down the street. When she was out of view, I took a deep breath and turned around, walking up the driveway to the front door.
I knocked heavily on the dark oak door. While I waited for someone to answer, I decided to look around at the home I had left behind about a year ago. My childhood home had changed now and then over the years, but there were still some iconic pieces of memories in the front yard that could never be forgotten. My personal favorite was Eddie the garden gnome. He was a standard gnome: small and stout with a large white beard that led into a pointy red hat. His eyes were shut and his mouth was curved into a smile. However, he was missing a nose. I grinned as I recalled the unfortunate mishap that caused Eddie to become deformed. I was about twelve, and carl was five. He had gotten a kid's baseball from Negan for his birthday and had begged me to teach him how to play, since I was on the local softball team at the time. I relented and set it up in the front yard. Eddie was our outfielder. Eddie didn't have a mitt. Well, he did, but it was his face. Carl absolutely smashed the first pitch I tossed at him and hit poor Eddie right in the face, shattering his round, pink nose into pieces. Carl bursted into tears and I had to promise him that he did not in fact kill our precious protector of our house. Lori ran out frantically and comforted her son before giving me a thorough chewing out for damaging Eddie. We never used the set again. That she knew of, anyways. Negan always let us play in his yard, though. I smiled at the memory, but the clicking of the lock to the door pulled me from my train of thought. The door swung open and I was met with the smiling face of my father.
"Sweetie, I'm so glad you made it!" He laughed, pulling me in swiftly and squeezing me tight.
"It's good to see you too, dad." I croaked, letting out a small chuckle. I tapped on his shoulder as a signal for him to let go.
"How was the flight?" He asked as he stepped out to grab my bag. I told him it was good but that the screaming kids had given me a bit of a headache. He gave a small laugh and gestured for me to enter. I thanked him and he rolled my bag in behind me. We exchanged a few words but as soon as I walked through the kitchen into the doorway of the living room I was hit by a wall. Not literally, no, but rather a wall of overwhelming scent. It was a delicious swirl of campfire and whiskey, with a hint of cigarettes and leather. I paused for a moment, my eyes forced closed and my lungs taking a deep breath of the intoxicating air. Colors danced across my eyelids. My whole body was flooded with warmth and my toes tingled. I felt safe and calm, and there was something else; something deep within my stomach that I couldn't quite identify, something I never felt before. My eyes snapped open when I felt my father's hand rest firmly on my shoulder.
"I hope you don't mind, sweetie, but I invited company over while I was waiting for you to arrive," He smiled at me. I got a good look at him then. He looked the same, his hair was a bit longer, a bit greyer. But his eyes were different. They were darker, rounder, rawer. I gave a soft smile and told him it was fine. He guided me into the living room. It was then I realized where that deadly smell was coming from. Or, rather, who it was coming from. "Negan, you remember my girl." In that moment, I held my breath as I scanned Negan. He looked fucking amazing, just as he always had. Perfect dimples guarding a charming smile, all surrounded by a gorgeous salt and pepper beard. His hair was longer than it was when I had left, not slicked back, but it still framed his face perfectly. Negan's body was draped casually over the sectional couch, legs crossed at the ankle on the ottoman. His arms were on the top of the couch and his wrists were dangling. He knew he was hot. That bastard. I suddenly became aware of his eyes raking over my form and I shifted from one foot to the other.
"'course I do, Rick," Negan said, voice silky and deep. I couldn't help but let a small shudder run down my spine. All I wanted to do was kneel down in front of him and curl up at his feet. I forced my inner omega down, shaking the thought from my head. "How could I forget the little slugger?" I cringed inside at the nickname. Especially the use of the word 'little'. I begged that he didn't still see me as the kid down the street. Instead as a grown woman. A grown omega.
"Hi, Negan." I greeted with a small smile, swallowing to relieve my dry throat. Now that I was next to him, his scent was clogging all my senses. I gripped onto the couch and lowered myself onto the cushion, hoping to ground myself. It helped, just barely. My heart was pounding, my instincts telling me to submit to this man in front of me. Why, though? Why now? He had never smelled this good before. No alpha had. Was I getting close to my heat? I did have a stomach ache, but that could be from Negan alone.
"Hey, sweetheart. How's college goin'?" Negan asked, sipping on his drink. He kept eye contact with me the whole time. Rick handed me a glass of soda and I thanked him.
"It's good!" I said after taking a sip, thankful for the hydration in my coarse throat "Towards the end it got a little hectic, but I was able to stay on top of everything, thankfully."
"You're studying film, right?" He asked, leaning forward and resting his elbows on his knees.
"That's right," I grinned, crossing my legs to relieve some of the pressure the movement caused to build up in my lower abdomen "You still teaching law?" This caused him to chuckle. Literally music to my ear.
"If that's what you want to fuckin' call it." Negan sighed, falling back to his original position, hands resting in his lap "I talk, the kids kinda listen. I just do it for the coaching job, really. You remember how much I love that damn sport, right?"
"Baseball?" I asked, raising a brow "You mean the only thing you talked about at all of the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners you were invited to?"
"Touché." Negan grinned. Goddamn that smile. Butterflies erupted in my chest, beating hard against my ribcage, begging to throw myself at his chest and bury myself in him. Rick cleared his throat and smiled at me to get my attention.
"I want to know more about your college experience!" He beamed, rubbing a hand through his beard "Any special alphas you've got your eyes on?" I heard Negan choke slightly on his whiskey. A small bubble of pride rose in my chest. I laughed at his words.
"Dad, I don't think Negan wants to hear about my love life."
"Shit, doll, I don't mind," He grumbled "I don't get to hear any drama now-a-days"
"What do you mean?" I giggled, tilting my head "You argue for a living. Your job is to literally deal with drama."
"Yea, but that's complex drama," He growled, waving his hand dismissively "I wanna hear simple, schoolgirl 'he loves me, he loves me not' kind of bullshit."
"Well sorry to disappoint," I snorted, running a hand through my hair "but no, there's no one I have an eye on." Dad's smile turned into a frown.
"Shame." I heard Negan whisper. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to hear it. It was quiet, barely above his breath, and he said it while twirling his whiskey, following the words with a large gulp.
"You really should start looking, dear." Dad said with a sigh "You know it only gets harder as you get older."
"Dad please, I don't..." I cut him off "Listen, I appreciate you trying to understand this stuff, I really do, but I don't really want to talk about it with my father." He looked at me with an understanding smile.
"Sure," He nodded "But if you ever need anything, anything at all, you just let me know, alright." I nodded.
"Well, this sure has been fun, Ricky-boy," Negan grinned, getting to his feet and stretching his arms far above his head. "We do have that big court case in the mornin', though, and I need my shut-eye."
"Big case, eh?" I asked, rising from my seat as well. Dad nodded and excitement sparked in his eyes.
"You should come! It's an open court and I would love for you to see what I do. I know you always wanted to as a kid, but your mom made you wait until you were older. Well, now's the perfect time!" He rambled, grasping my shoulders.
"W-Well, I dunno, I don't want to be a distraction," I stumbled, taken aback by my father's display of enthusiasm. I turned to Negan, as if asking for permission. He just laughed.
"Oh-o, doll, I don't get distracted. Not in there, not anywhere. Don't you worry about a goddamn thing. You should come, Rick seems like he really wants you to."
"Okay, then," I grinned, nodding in commitment "I'll see you there in the morning then." I looked up to Negan and we locked eyes for a brief moment. But in that moment, something within me quivered. He brushed up against me and smirked down at me.
"See you tomorrow, sweetheart. It was nice to see you. You're lookin' great." It took all my willpower not to let out a whimper as he walked past me, taking his glorious scent with him.
My dad said that he should also get some rest, but that I could stay up as long as I wanted to. I was pretty wiped from my flight so I opted to follow him up the narrow staircase, tugging my bag behind me. I hugged him goodnight and stepped into my room. It hadn't been touched since I left last summer. The forest green bedspread was still perfectly tucked into the mattress and two plump pillows were perched at the head of the bed. My muscles ached for the soft release of sleep. I put my suitcase down by my dresser, taking a moment to smile at some old photos of me and Bee as kids. I showered and brushed my teeth before getting into the comfortable bed. I looked up at the ceiling and giggled softly at the glow-in-the-dark stars shining overhead. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I wasn't thinking of anything in particular, but for some reason, all of my dreams were plagued by the sweet smell, sound, sight, feeling, and taste of Negan.

Tumblr media
In which your best friend, Kim Namjoon, helps you get over your asshole ex-boyfriend; perhaps, maybe, he was never the one you loved anyway.
Your eardrums still buzzed from all the shouting.
Your socked feet repetitively hit the ground, bunching the fabric of your shirt in angst as the aftershocks of the breakup rung through your body. You’d been pacing your living room ever since it happened, a painful lump in your throat threatening to rear it’s head as you debated calling him.
Him. Your best friend, Namjoon. The one you could go to for anything, the only one you wanted to go to. Especially in times like this, when your hands were shaking and your chest felt tight and constricted.
It was definitely not a good time, only a few hours before his workday began, but you felt as if you were going to drive yourself insane if you went on like this.
Tapping on Namjoon’s contact, you caved, pressing the phone to your ear to hear the two deep notes before they abruptly stopped.
“Hello?” He rasped, clearing his throat at the gravelly voice he’d just displayed, you staying silent on the other line as guilt seeped through your veins.
“Were you sleeping?” He hears your much too awake voice say through the phone, shaky in a way that had him alert in an instant.
“No, no,” he lied, sitting up against the headboard as his brows furrowed in worry, “what’s wrong?” he asked immediately, concern taking over his tone as he heard you hesitate, balls of his feet landing on the ground as he clutched the phone tighter at the sound of your sniffle.
The mere question made tears collect on your water line, lower lip trembling as your face scrunched up in a silent cry that wracked your shoulders.
Trying your best to regain your composure, you ran a hand through your hair, pushing it away from your face as your stare directed out the window adjacent to you.
“I don’t even know how it escalated so much but we got into a fight, he left, we broke up.” You blurt out, biting down on your lip to silence the sob coming up your throat and threatening to spill out into the microphone of your device.
There was a heavy moment of silence between the two of you, one that would typically be filled with a joke or poking fun at the other for their awkwardness. But this one was tense, Namjoon’s anger bubbling in his chest echoing in the silence as you stifled your cries.
He’d been there for you for multiple breakups, being the shoulder for you to cry on each time someone broke your heart. It was heartbreaking for him as well, seeing you so shattered over someone who didn’t deserve you. Someone who didn’t deserve your love in the first place.
“Fuck.” He mumbled, pausing for a moment at a loss for words. “Are you okay? That’s a stupid question, of course you’re not.” He answered himself, grabbing his glasses from his bedside table to slide atop his ears.
“I’m coming over.” He announced, standing from the mattress and stumbling over to his wardrobe, pulling out a pair of sweatpants to hastily slip on as he lifted his shoulder to his ear in order to hold the phone so that he could still hear you.
Immediately, you began to shake your head no, forgetting for a moment that he couldn’t see you.
“Joonie, don’t, I’m sorry for calling-“
“Love, I’m coming over. I’m already on my way.”
When Namjoon arrived, you couldn’t help but collapse into his arms, his strong limbs wrapping you up in a tight hug as he shut the front door behind him.
“I’m so sorry, love. I’m sorry.” He whispered, hand placed on the back of your head as your shoulders shook with the force of your sobs, his own heart breaking at the sound of your choked cries being muffled into his shirt.
He stood with you in his grip for a few minutes, letting you cry in his arms as he swayed you comfortingly side to side.
“Can I walk you over to the couch?” He inquired softly, getting a stoic nod from you in response, never lifting you head from his chest as he began shuffling both your bodies over to the living room.
You blindly followed his lead as he lowered himself down onto the couch, placing you beside him on the cushion and welcoming you closer when you wrapped your arms around his neck.
Rubbing his palm up and down your spine, he watched as you steadily began to breathe slower.
“What happened?” He murmured, watching with gentle eyes as you lifted your head from his body, pouting as you sat up straight against the back of the sofa, looking down at your lap dejectedly.
Shoulders heaving in a long sigh, you ran a hand through your hair to push it away from your face, the patience exuding from the figure next to you easing you slightly.
“I was the one who ended things.”
Namjoon made a quiet noise of surprise from his spot next to you, eyebrows raised slightly as his eyes widened.
Out of all the relationships you’d been in during his time of knowing you, you’d always been the one who was broken up with. Your history with dating had left Namjoon angry time and time again at the brutal endings that had come along with it.
“What’d he do?” He asked firmly, tone protective yet knowing as his eyes implored your sullen figure. Fiddling with your fingers, you blew out a sigh, bra it yourself for the explanation to come.
“Do you remember Hobi’s party?” You asked, Namjoon cocking his head in confusion at the abrupt question.
“Remember when I stormed off and you had to come find me?” You elaborated, a light bulb sparking in Namjoon’s brain as he slowly nodded. Yes, he did remember that.
He remembered coming back from the restroom and not being able to find you, clueless as to where you’d gone before his friends filled him in that you’d suddenly fled without reason.
Circling the yard several times without finding you, he walked into Hoseok’s house, poking his head into each room with no luck.
It was when he glanced out the window of the kitchen that he saw a light outside in the dark; a phone screen lighting up none other than your face, low to the ground making him scrunch his brows in confusion before scrambling to exit the house to make sure you were okay.
Namjoon, ever the gentle giant, couldn’t walk quietly to save his life, shoes pounding against the pavement with each long stride he took toward your hunched over frame.
The sound of his footsteps had only jarred you slightly, setting your phone down in your lap with a sigh as he sat down beside you on the curb of his friend’s driveway.
“How’d you end up here?” He had asked, ready to poke fun at you before he noticed the sad gleam in your eye, a frown suddenly overtaking his face as you merely shrugged in response.
It was a complete contrast to how you’d been just before he’d left for the bathroom, laughing and singing and having fun with him and his friends. He didn’t know what could’ve possibly happened in that short time he was gone. But you were upset, which automatically made him upset.
He tensed up when he realized you might want to be left alone, opening his mouth to ask if that’s what you wanted but pausing once you scooted toward him to rest your head on his shoulder.
He remembered the words you whispered after a few moments of heavy silence, Namjoon’s heart pounding in his chest as your hands wrapped around his bicep.
I love you.
Moments like that were the hardest for him. Of course he remembered.
“Yeah. Well, I stormed out because he was letting this girl sit on his lap, practically making out with her.” You scoffed, picking at a string dangling from the sleeve of your shirt as you frowned at the memory.
Silence absorbing the room, you glanced up at Namjoon, unsurprised by the perturbed look on his face.
Namjoon seemed beyond appalled before the emotions on his face turned into anger, his once gaped mouth tightly shut, clenching his jaw while his eyes shot daggers at the man who was no longer in your life.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” He finally spoke, facial expression hardening by the second with the new information.
“I was embarrassed, Joon. Obviously him going to someone else is a message that I’m not enough. I didn’t want anyone to know that, not even you.” You shrugged, Namjoon’s face scrunching in confusion at your explanation.
“That’s such bullshit. He’s sleazy. That’s why he went to someone else. His actions don’t insinuate anything about you.” He fumed, causing you to shrug tiredly.
“It was fucked up, and he knew it. He apologized, said he was just drunk.” You sighed, playing with your fingers in your lap again as Namjoon listened, glancing at your side profile as you heaved another deep exhale.
“I bought it then, but I don’t believe a word of it now. She’s been blowing up his phone ever since that night.” You confessed, Namjoon’s eyebrows knitting together at your words.
“Was he,” Namjoon started lowly, not daring to finish the sentence he had began.
“I don’t know, I can’t prove it, but he was messaging her all the fucking time, Joon. It made me feel really weird.” You sighed, resting your elbow on the back of the couch to place your temple onto your palm, letting your eyes fall shut in exhaustion.
“I wouldn’t feel good about that either. God, what a fucking dick.” He said in disbelief, looking at your tired form with a sympathetic frown before shuffling his body closer to you.
“C’mere.”
You heard the return of his soft voice call for you, reaching his arm out behind your back to welcome you into his chest, wrapping you up in a tight hug as he rested his chin on the top of your head.
“I’ll always be here for you.” He murmured, pressing a kiss to your hair and making you exhale a sigh against him.
“I know you will. Thank you.” You whispered, clutching onto his soft shirt with a ball of your fist into the fabric.
“And I’m gonna kick his ass.”
You exhaled a small wheeze at that, burying your face into his shirt, his solid figure providing a comfortable headrest for you.
“You’re not gonna kick his ass, Joon. You’re too good for that.” You patted his shoulder fondly, sniffling against him as his hand circled your spine.
Namjoon sighed, knowing you were right. He’d never be able to. But god, if only he was a little tougher. He’d beat any asshole who decided to toss your love away.
Tucking his neck in to look down at you, he recognized the closing of your eyelids, your breathing slowing as you fell into slumber.
Your eyelashes fanned out onto your cheeks, the skin slightly pink from the salt that had been trailing down from your eyes earlier. Your hair was caught in the dampness, causing Namjoon to gently gather the strands and push it back behind your ears.
Carefully turning his body around the sofa, he slowly lowered his back to the cushions, you snuggling up on his chest as his hand rested on the crown of your head.
Staring at the ceiling, he could not fathom the fact that someone would choose anything over this. Over you. He had your love, and he threw it away. It angered Namjoon to no end.
Namjoon, who had been your protector since second grade when he’d helped you get your hair untangled from the swingset. He still remembered the vision when he’d seen it get caught from across the schoolyard, running away from the soccer game him and his friends had been playing in order to help you.
He could still picture your big eyes staring at him as he untwisted your hair from the chain, explaining to you that he had experience doing this because it’d happened to his younger sister so many times.
You’d been quite shy then, only saying a polite thank you when he was done and taking his slightly sweaty hand to shake it when he offered it to you.
“Namjoon. I’m new.” He explained with a smile, withdrawing his hand to push his glasses up his nose before backing away from you as his friend called out for him.
“I’ll see you later!”
From that day on, you and Namjoon had steadily grown closer, running around with each other at recess and sitting together at lunch. You’d broken out of your shell with him after spending so much time together, your shyness slowly fading as he gained your trust.
As you went into middle school, you two stayed close despite every other friend duo or trio breaking up, the both of you managing to avoid drama all the way through your freshman year.
That was the year Namjoon got his first girlfriend.
They’d only dated a few months, but he’d been left heartbroken when she wanted to split up. It was you that came to his rescue, stopping at his house with his favorite takeout and rocking him from side to side when he eventually broke down in your arms.
You had always been there. And his crush had been too, but he’d, through years of suppressing it, gotten to a point where he could act like it wasn’t.
After all, you were best friends. And that was enough for Namjoon. Having you in his life in any capacity was enough.
•••
You awoke a few hours later to a blinding light in your living room, sun piercing your swollen eyes making you cover them with your palms, a groan slipping past your lips at the heavy weight of your eyelids protesting your consciousness.
Rubbing them to hopefully soothe the feeling, you pulled your hands away from your face, grasping the blanket on top of you in confusion.
Dropping your head back down onto the couch, your mind raced with flashbacks from last night. The way he had screamed at you when you’d reached for his phone when it wouldn’t stop ringing because of that fucking girl, how it had turned into a huge argument that ended in you breaking up with him, collapsing in tears as soon as he left.
You felt dizzy at the memory, the nearly two hour long argument draining you mentally, emotionally, and physically.
You remembered calling Namjoon, him coming over-
Namjoon. Where was he?
Opening your eyes again, you tried to sit up, scooting your butt back on the couch to straighten your spine. It cracked as you did so, causing you to groan lightly as you turned your neck, sleepily looking around your living room.
Finding your cell phone on the coffee table, you reached your arm over to retrieve it, looking at the bright screen with squinted eyes.
Bypassing the rest of your notifications, you read the timestamp, concluding with a sigh that Namjoon had most likely left last night and already departed for work.
Standing up off of the couch, blanket still draped over your shoulders, you shuffled to your bedroom, plopping yourself down on your bed face down with a grunt.
You couldn’t help the way your mind started spinning with the events of the last few months, the spiral and eventual downfall of your relationship.
Was he the love of your life? Probably not. But fuck, you’d devoted time and emotion to him, you’d defended him to your family and friends and made yourself look like an ass while doing so over him, and you still weren’t enough. You weren’t enough.
Silent tears began soaking the pillow below you, your sniffles filling the room as you covered your face with the blanket, trapping yourself in the darkness beneath the tent of fabric.
Finally, the fresh tears stopped falling, your bedroom once again encased in silence as you shut your sore eyes, hoping for some sleep to distract yourself for a bit.
Just as you were about to plunge into sleep, you startled awake at the sudden feeling of a hand on your shoulder before settling at the familiar warmth and size of the palm. Namjoon. Your gentle, goofy, over-sized best friend.
“Hello?” He called to you, tugging at the blanket again to which you released your grip, allowing him to see the wet trails down your reddened cheeks as you pouted up at him.
The devastated look on his face made you feel even worse, never liking to see Namjoon with such a glum expression.
His dimpled smile belonged on his face, the gentle scrunch of his nose when he laughed at something making him look not too far off from when you used to make him laugh in elementary school.
Seeing Namjoon sad was always a trigger to you, and with your current mental state, it was no exception. You couldn’t hold back the choked sob that came out of your mouth, Namjoon instantly sitting back against the headboard and welcoming you into his side as you crawled to him.
“Oh, love.” He frowned, hand trailing up and down your spine to coax your cries.
“It hurts, Joon.” You whimpered, the man soothing your hair back with a frown.
“I know. I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.” He said softly, not knowing what other words to say.
Honestly, he was fucking furious at him. Furious for playing with your heart like that. But he needed to be here for you, present to make sure you were coping healthily.
“I thought you left for work.” You whispered, Namjoon humming softly in response.
“Mm, no, I called out. I just went to go pick up some coffee.” He explained, gesturing over to your bureau where two to-go cups of coffee sat side by side.
“Why’d you call-”
“Because you need me and I’m not going to leave you. Plus, I woke up late today anyway. There was no time for me to go back home and get dressed then get there.”
“You didn’t have to call out for me, Joon.”
“Love, I wanted to. I promise.” He said, causing you to sigh against him.
“Thank you.” You mumbled, not knowing quite what you did to deserve such a selfless person in your life.
When it came to absolute sweethearts, Namjoon took the cake.
“Plus, now I can spend my day with my favorite person. Who’d give that up?” He squeezed your shoulder, raising his eyebrows when you stirred in your position.
His words caused you to pick your head up off of him, Namjoon ignoring the daggers you sent him while he smoothed your fuzzy bedhead down with his palm.
“You wanted to spend your day with a crying broken me? Really?” You practically scoffed, Namjoon squeezing your shoulder in response.
“Hey, crying you is still you. You’ll always be my favorite person.” He defended himself, you shaking your head at him with a small smile.
Laying back down against him, he latched an arm around your waist, securing you in his hold and making you exhale a bit of the tension in your body.
“Wanna watch something?” He looked from the blank television back to you snuggled against his side, your nod causing his arm to reach over the bureau to grab the remote.
“The usual?” He wondered, beginning to type the letters into the search bar when you nodded once again.
Setting the remote down as the Looney Tunes introduction music played from the speaker, both your and Namjoon’s eyes glued to the screen as you lost yourselves in the nostalgia it provided.
It brought you back to simpler times, when you were in fifth grade having your after school snack at Namjoon’s house, fruit that his mother had cut up for the two of you.
It brought you back to simpler times when stupid men hadn’t wormed their way into your heart, only to reject you once they had you.
Being brought back to earth by the man beside you with his hand trailing through your hair, you closed your eyes, thanking him in your head for always knowing what you needed.
You knew you’d be okay eventually. Namjoon wouldn’t let you fail.
He never had.

It has always been you #2
You can read the first part here
Your wake up with a gasp, and with a lot of effort try to prop up on your elbow only to fall back on your side, grunting. Trying to stir your memories you clench your eyes shut.
The blood, the petals and tears. The feeling of being burned from the inside and the pain you felt in your throat as the thorns made their way out. All of it comes crashing to you in a second, making you dizzy.
A familiar voice catches your attention.
“You’re awake. Good. How are you feeling?” You look up to find your friend leaning on the doorframe holding a glass of water with a soft smile.
Your friend’s tranquil expression doesn’t show it, but they’re relieved. They hadn’t expected you to slump out of a portal. It's not that you appeared out of nowhere, since you made a habit of doing it every once in a while, but the fact that you opened a breach instead of snapping into existence that concerned them. As soon as your unconscious body fell on the floor with a hard thud your friend (whose name you don't know despite knowing each other from years but call Chips in honor of their love for said snack) was by your side checking on you.
Chips was worried sick, but didn't hesitate as they took you to the lab. As if luck would have it, your friend is a very talented healer and after many tortuous hours of medical practice (and a little bit of their own powers) they managed to stabilize you.
“I feel awful…” You tug the blanket up to your neck. Chips giggles.
“Well yeah, you had it bad, man. You’ve been out cold for three days.” Chips looks at you for a second longer before offering you the glass of water while helping you sit up before sitting themselves beside you on the bed. Their expression changes to a serious one while deciding if it’d be prudent ask. “What happened…?”
Your gaze is locked on the glass of water in your hands. You think back to the events and come to one conclusion. With a defeated sigh you respond. “I don’t know. One second i was on my way to Lady Beneviento’s workshop to deliver her afternoon tea and the next one i was on the floor coughing—” you sigh and rub the bridge of your nose with your fingers. “Coughing blood…”
“And flowers.” Chips added.
“And flowers…” You confirmed. “How do you know? I arrived here unconscious.”
“I did my homework, gremlin.” Chips couldn’t hold your gaze and they looked away. “Your lungs are filled with those.”
“My lungs?! How is that even possible?”
Chips stands and retrieves a book from the drawer on the bedside table. “I did some research as to what could possibly be the cause for such, uh… unique… condition. I found something in one of the books at the old library but i think you might want to read this for yourself…”
You’ve had a lot of questions, but nothing could have prepared you for the answers.
You can’t sleep, not even when night arises again. The contents of the book swirling in your mind like a cruel reminder.
‘Hanahaki Disease’ it read, ‘the victim of this infection is known to have flowers growing in their lungs leading to them coughing up flower petals when they suffer from strong one-sided love. There isn’t a cure to this disease other than to have their love reciprocated or by having surgical intervention, though this last option will cause the victim to lose all capacity to love again. If not treated, this disease will end up with the life of the victim.’
Chips makes a point of telling you that your state is grave and you need to make a decision before it’s too late. You don’t have much time, after all.
‘Coughing flowers means that my love is not requited’ is the thought that loops in your mind over and over again while you lie restlessly on the bed. Donna doesn't love you but you can't stop yourself from loving her.
You remember Donna’s shy smile. You remember her sweet voice. You remember her hesitant but lingering touch whenever your hands bumped, by accident of course.
Angie's words hurt you, because you learned she's connected with the Lady's thoughts, she's a part of her. It hurt you because your love was clearly, shatteringly not reciprocated. It stung because you fell for someone with absolutely no interest in you, much less the same way you were interested in her.
You had tried to push Lady Beneviento away in hopes that you could forget about those strong feelings, and it didn’t matter how much it pained you, you kept going. You convinced yourself that it was for the better, as Donna wouldn’t feel uncomfortable with your affections and you wouldn’t find yourself imagining impossible things. You made sure to avoid her at all cost and only address her if absolutely necessary. Keeping your mind distracted was an everyday thing, but you failed to realize just how much your behavior affected the Lady.
It was a few days before ‘the flower incident’ that you had decided it was time for your vacations to be over, but alas, things never go according to plan and now you’re laying on your friend’s bed while recovering from your poor decisions.
It’s Friday when you finally call Chips and discuss the next step in your progressive disease.
Meanwhile, back at the Beneviento Estate the Lady of the house is having her own turmoil of emotions. After the events where you made a full display of your particular ability, she doesn’t know what to think. First of all, you had supernatural powers? And not only that, but to open time-space breaches! That meant you could have left at any time you pleased without her being able to prevent it and yet you decided to stay with her all that time. Her heart aches, she feels relieved that you thought she was worth staying,  but on the other hand she is hurt that you hadn’t trust her enough to reveal your secret… but then again,  she didn’t tell you hers until fairly recently. And then you left her behind without any explanation! Not that she needed one but it would have been nice to get a chance to properly talk with you like she intended.
Still, Donna is worried about you. She’s waited for a long time now and still no sign of your presence. She waited for hours after you disappeared but you didn’t return that day. Or the next. You didn’t show up even after a month and a half had already passed by and Donna begun to think that you would never return and that your time together was finally over.
Until one day where the Lady is reading your favorite book (or more like the highlights you marked on the paper, remembering the eagerness in your voice whenever you read out loud to her a new line that you liked) when the sound of someone knocking on the door pulls her out of her pensive state.
As the door opens she finds, with disbelief in her eyes, that you stand on the other side, unable to meet her gaze.
Donna’s sight becomes blurry with tears and she can’t help but to tackle you in a tight embrace, holding you impossibly close while burying her face in the crook of your neck and inhaling your familiar scent after it being denied to her for so long.
“You’re back…”She says breathlessly and you can feel her hot tears wetting your shirt, her hands clutching the fabric of your clothes for dear life. A lot of questions run through her mind but right now she just wants to savor the feeling of your body in her arms again. There will be time for answers later.
“Lady Beneviento, please forgive me for leaving like that…” You don’t hug the Lady back but do let her hang off you until she’s sure you won’t suddenly disappear again.
“I’m so glad you’re here,” Donna says. “You don’t know how much i’ve missed you.”
“I’m back and ready to continue with my duties. If you’ll excuse me…” You step back from her hug before making a beeline for the kitchen without looking back, leaving a very confused Lady behind to look at your retreating back.
Donna’s eyes widen as she notices the almost imperceptible specks of blood marring the back of your shirt and she swears that under that oversized shirt you’re wearing are bandages covering you…
